So for a year or two I main Diana because of her (old)lore. Her old lore made her feel so special she the one chosen by the moon. How she begged the moon, and the moon responding back. The way her old lore ended with her killing the elders and going after the chosen of the sun felt so satisfying and cool.Diana felt like the one chosen from the moon the one and only. And now the new lore with Targon. So Diana climbed the mountain and on her way back she found a lunari cave with the armor and when she touched it she got the power and knowledge..of all other aspects of the moon...then she got back to the solari and talked to the elders about what she discovered and killed them also Leona was there the whole time the chosen of the sun.And nothing big happened between the sun and moon in a one place at the same time(im not saying that something needed to happen but it kinda felt meh)and she runs away.I kinda liked her old lore waaaay more the lore made Diana special the one chosen of the moon now she is one of many aspects of the moon....I think Diana's old lore was better then this new one..

Yeah, when the Targon retcon happened there were quite a few unhappy people. Hell, I’m one of them. They’re the reason I joined the board because I thought the lore managed to completely miss the point in every way with the three original Targon champs. Which is in a way almost impressive.

Diana who’s main characteristics were her unhappy life and drive for knowledge had all her agency stripped from her. So that even her murders come across as an unhappy accident rather than lashing out against a lifelong abuser.

Leona’s entire personality arc is backwards. She gets picked to be Solari because she was noble and trusting. Which somehow changed her into a murder zealot, and then after the Elder’s die. She gets possessed and decides she no longer wants to be a murder zealot. Despite her flavor lore showing the Aspect of the Sun inside her is kind of a violent one.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to have her be pure and noble and all that. Have her hesitate from the Elder’s order to kill Diana which allowed Diana to kill the elders. Leona would then blame herself for the Elder’s death so she starts taking murder zealot qualities. That makes way more sense as an arc.

Then there’s Pantheon. Who’s whole shtick was he was the true soldier the one from Targon that represents the normal people. He was also a Spartan. People played him because Spartans were awesome. So... they make him a body hoping space parasite that gets blown up by the star dragon like a bitch. At least Taric’s insult is completely accurate.

It all comes back to the space empire that got shoved into a setting that had no need for it. All the changes that were made were done to set up the characters to where they needed to be for the space empire story with Sol and all the rest, rather than as an expression and expansion of the original characters.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. Although i won't call what old Diana did cool, it gave her a bit of depth, I've often said that new Diana was basicy handed everything, while old Diana suffered for her power.

She’s still special. She’s an aspect of the moon, they don’t just hand that shit out to anybody.

Actually in the new lore Leona wasn't the chosen of the sun when Diana killed the elders, hence why there wasn't much interaction between them, she only became the chosen of the sun after Diana had killed the elders.

And there is only one aspect of the moon at a time, just like there was just one chosen of the moon in the old lore at a time(the old lore already confirmed that there was a previous person who was chosen by the sun, which likely means that there were other chosen of the moon before Diana)
