I don't even know why he is a blacksmith if he feels that a smith hammer is the best weapon. He could create almost anything he wants to attack other champions with. This kind of makes me think less of him.

Meep Man2 votesI dont think Ornn has a huge demand to be honest. Pretty sure he's more of an urban legend where rumor has it most legendary warriors get their weapons from.
Also, if you are most familiar with a hammer, you would use your hammer.
Also, based on his kit, most of what Ornn does combat-wise besides basic attacks is not with the hammer. Only his Q really uses it and that isn't hitting them with the hammer. His enhanced W attack (and R I guess) also uses it, but it's still a basic attack.
ALSO, Ornn uses his hammer in the field to craft items. He may be a demigod, but I don't think he wants to carry three different weapons at one time.

Just because a blacksmith can make a sword doesn't mean he knows how to use it.
Chembaron Yamada1 votesThis. The hammer is what he is most familiar with. We don't have a reason to think that he ever trained to fight with a weapon, but he is using his hammer daily and therefore is used to it.
For example: Let's say that you trained Kendo for your entire life. Now I give you the option to chose between 2 weapons to defend yourself: a gun and a katana. Keep in mind: you never used a gun in your entire life.
Most people in that scenario would chose the weapon they can actually handle instead of the more effective one. Because you will be more powerful using it than using a weapon for the first time and having literally no experience with.

With Ornn though I think it's a case of using a weapon you're more skilled with. Not everyone can be Jax, and a smiths hammer is something he already has a lot of practice with using. Just seems more efficient to use it for crafting and combat, especially if he's more familiar with it then any other tool.
