Or are the Rakan and Xayah skins going to be withheld until next patch? I am a little bit confused

The patch notes can't be spoonfed any easier. Mary Poppins can't even spoonfeed it easier. If you need assisted living, there are a few numbers you could call. Do I need to look them up?

Hmmm, did you read the key words "next patch" or you are just being a dick...cause?

Just the valentine and lunar revel skins.

Those skins are technically going out this patch that goes live within the next few days. They won't be implemented until their respective holidays though.

As for the next patch, Riot said they're changing their cycles up. Every other patch will be a big patch with skins and kit changes, and the ones in bewteen will be solely number tune ups and softcore balance. So far, they've really only revealed Swain for the next patch cycle, but champs and VGUs typically are tested for 2-3 cycles, but they haven't shown anything else at the moment, most likely because this will be one of the low key patches.

Riot already confirmed in the patch notes for 8.2 and on Twitter that only Arctic Ops Grags will be coming out this patch. Lunar and Valentine skins will be in 8.3 even though they were added to the live client in 8.2 they won't be available until 8.3 goes live.

No champs and VGUs are always tested for 1 cycle(of course they get tested before their pbe release, but they remain only one patch on the pbe before their release).

Also I dunno how 8.3 would be considered low key if it includes something big like a VGU.

Because the big/small patch is about balancing. Other things like new champs, VGUs, skins etc are not affected by this.

...then whats the difference between a small and a big patch? If the small patch has a lot of balancing stuff as well as a VGU,then how is it any different from the previous patch that had lots of balance stuf as well as a bunch of skins?

Both patches had balance changes and something "big",8.2 had its skins&eventstuff,8.3. has Swain. And both had balance changes. So how is one actually considered bigger than the other?

"small" patches contain only minor, and only a few balance changes, while the big ones contain more, with more research about data going into them.

Ah ok,so the small/big-part was only talking about the balance changes to existing champions, not to the actual size of the patch.

Quite like that. As you could see with 8.3 update, only a few champions were affected, and no items were changed in the patch. However, in the next big patch which is already on the PBE, there are new items for mages, a lot of tweaks with mage items, rengar and i think maybe voli changes.

Patch 8.2 which we are on there is only Arctic Ops Gragas. Patch 8.3 which will have Swain has skins for Lunar Revel (Nasus, Warwick and Lux) and Valentine's day (Xayah/Rakan)
