I'm sorry, this might cause some spite, but where in earth did Metal come in with Death?

Please understand that I understand and remember when Morde's Kit did involve plenty and plenty of Metal, from his Q to E, just lots of metal. But, where does Metal and Magnetism fit in with someone Undead?

Taking a look at everything Morde does, and abilities from other Shadow Isle champs, his Ult seems like the only part about him that actually referenced some type of "Death". He kills someone and enslaves their soul, right, seems truly Shadow Isles type Evil. So, why is Metal his thing? Why is he the Master of Metal?

(Disclaimers: I understand the controversy of his new name Mordekaiser: The Mordekaiser. I understand his reworked particles have been changed to suit this theme they have going. Disclaimers over)

Metal was both the conduit for his undead energy but also the material from which his unholy prison was made. The irony being him utilizing the very object of his pain and suffering to inflict even greater anguish on his enemies.

Think about it this way: why should an undead be restricted by death magic? Like what would prevent someone from simply learning 2 different kinds of magic?

Morde simply learned Metal magic and Death magic.

I'm just going to start copying this from my other comment and paste it on every thread talking about mordes title.....this is why the master of metal is who he is

He's in pentakill, his armor is literally heavy metal...why change his title to the cheesiest thing since twitches breath?

Metal was his thing due most likely (besides kit) stemming from the fact that his old-old lore said something along the lines of "for now his suit of armour may actually be protecting us from him". An undead trapped inside a suit of armour who's begun to use it as a weapon.

I think his whole character is some concept of trying to make a "Death Metal" champion. I don't understand it, it's "their" champ and I'm ok with that.

Death Metal is a genre of music, and mordekaiser's appearance would be typical stage costume for that genre I guess.

oil is the result of fossilized dinosaurs

the other fossils, like the dodo bird etc are what turned into metal

so death = metal deal with it

There are 2 kinds of undead creatures in the shadow isles, the "zombie like" ( Elise Evelynn Yorick ) and the "spirit like" Mordekaiser Thresh Hecarim

In the case of the "spirit like" creatures from, they are evil spooky spirits trapped in Metallic bodies.

If they were simply ghosts, they wouldn't need a "metallic shell"... that is why they are so different from the usual undeads, due their metal... unlike the most of the common undeads from other fantasy worlds.

So, its clear that the metal is an important part of the shadow isles.
