Neeko being a lesbian:

has a bunch of suggestive voicelines where she flirts with girls
it's openly declared

Taric and Varus being gay:

not a single voiceline in the entire game in which that is hinted or revealed
people may play the game and never find out those characters are gay, Varus has been made gay only as an irrelevant lore retcon, and Taric has never been declared gay

Why does it matter what sexual orientation a character is? You're just killing stuff in this game not fucking them, it's not leisure suit larry

Taric has multiple voice lines flirting with women, I don't think he's gay. And Varus' voice lines were recorded before the lore update. You don't notice they're gay, because their in-game versions are not gay.

I'm not saying you need to draw attention to someone's sexuality, quite the opposite, but your example is very poorly chosen.

If you want Neeko's voice lines to be removed, then remove Ezreal's, Garen's, Xayah's, Rakan's, Zoe's, Taric's etc. You don't get to pick and choose which make you uncomfortable.

Why does it matter if it's "progressive?" So Neeko likes the way women look and she thinks boys have cooties. She's a lizard spirit. That is her character. It's fine.

1 - Taric has not been confirmed gay. The fandom just loves to pair him with Ezreal, both before and after the reworks. 2 - Varus is not gay, just the 2 Ionians he is using as a body. This was done to make him a bit more unique story wise.
