We were told that we would finally see the upgraded lores that they butchered in the Shurima Event after Bilgewater.

Well, Bilgewater is done, so... I'm waiting...

Well it's been two days since the event ended. They probably want to wait until things have died down a tad more.

I'm still gonna be checking over the pages of Amumu Bard Cassiopeia Ekko Elise Evelynn Ezreal Fiora Hecarim Kalista Karthus Mordekaiser Nasus Rammus RekSai Renekton Sivir Skarner TahmKench Thresh Tristana Yorick like a hawk though. I was doing that before anyway.

That is some bullshit equivocating if I ever heard it. They said they would give actual lore with some meaning and depth for champions effected by the Shurima update. The thing is, that is basically every champion since they decided that the Institute of War doesn't exist anymore.

Seriously, go read the lore of older champions from Noxus and Demacia. It still references the IoW. Its hilarious how long it has taken then to fix something as simple (and relatively short) as champion bios A FULL YEAR after they made the changes that caused those bios to no longer be accurate.

Well, technically the event ended 2 weeks ago when the epilogue was brought out.

Sure, you still could play Black Market Brawlers to grind the icon, but in terms of lore everything has "died down" already...

Nah they said that the Captain GP skins gets handed out once the event ends,so the epilogue does still count towards the event.

Xerath and Azir have their lore up on the website. The rest have yet to be put on though.

I used to have faith in Riot. League of Legends used to be, and still kind of is my favorite game.

That being said, Riot doesn't seem to give a shit about their lore anymore!

Don't look at the empty words Rioters have been posting about lore, look at the actual content being produced! ** With the Bilgewater lore as an exception, Riot hasn't produced quality lore in years!**

Riot seems to be focused on producing event lore. I think we're going to see the lore of champion's that aren't involved in those events continue to fall by the wayside.

Sorry Skarner, Riot really wrecked you up for some reason and decided you weren't a priority to fix, like many other champions who were victims of this retcon.

Well, officially the Shurima lore is already written and all... if they have not lied to us about this.

And the system works - after all we have Azir's and Xerath's story online to prove this, so it can't be "technical difficulties"...

If that's his "deal", then his lore is pretty lame and extremely unexplained.

Riot has shown us they can do better....just read Skarner's old lore. It wasn't great, but it surely was better than what we have now.

Evolving Story Lore for Runeterra is pretty much dead and mostly forgotten. Riot's new business model is to have an event, sell some skins, move on to writing the next event.

They don't seem to care about lore cohesion, or how the different parts of Runeterra fit together anymore.

They just want our money, and they've been pretty successful at getting it.

Uhm, did you live under a rock the last month or did you simply not read the Bilgewater storys + the expanded lores for Tobias "Twisted" Fate, Graves, Miss Fortune and Gangplank? If they make all lores like this there will be no reason to nag I guess...

Kyoki Shinkuro, if you actually read the OP's post, you'd know that isn't what this is about.

It was about how the butchered Shurima Lore hasn't even been fixed yet despite the fact that the Bilgewater lore has happened.

My point was about how Riot's new lore model is event-centric.

I was agreeing with the OP that since the Bilgewater event was in progress that it was no surprise that the butchered lore of the Shurima event would continue to go unfixed, and that I think that's kinda terrible.

When I spoke about Riot's "evolving lore" I was talking about the long term, like narrative stories that took months and years of releases to complete rather than just the one month events.

Here's where we may have a disagreement:

To me, the Bilgewater event isn't "evolving" lore, it's segmented lore.

During the Bilgewater event, lore releases were segmented in phases that progressed at pre-determined times.

Let's be real here, It's not like the BIlgewater event happened because of anything to do with Runeterra. It was some really cool story, but we got very little context on the events that precipitated the event.

We already have the full stories for Azir and Xerath . I guess well have to wait for the others. Remember that the bios are not supposed to be the full thing, merely brief overviews of the champions personality and origin in a paragraph or less. We should expect links to the full stories in the website on all the bios that have been shortened soon ... I hope.
