i hate that riot has such a fleshed out and interesting universe but is doing nothing with it

league has one of the only universe's in gaming that because of riots lore and art teams can imagine each and every bit of runeterra sewing and interacting together seamlessly while still leaving me enough to wonder about.

i can visualize walking through each established region from the markets demacia to the slums of noxus. i can smell the fresh ocean air mixing with the smells baked goods and hextech shops of piltover.

yet all of its for a game that only pays flashes of references towards it in the way of interactions. i have a dozen friends that dont like league(for various reasons) who when they see any official art from league get really excited and saying they love the design then when the find out what its from always say something along th elines of "damn league always has such cool designs, shame its for a moba"

suppose i could always wait in the hopes of a league mmo [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I'll be quite honest, as much as I bash Riot, the lore team and art team are actually amazing. If I owned a company and Riot shut down I'd hire them in a heartbeat.

nah nah no MMO mmos ruin franchises and encourage pay to win, I'd prefer something like Skyrim or Prey or along that vein, where you can explore and learn of the world and meet or play as characters which could have specific interactions, maybe with an online and/or local player kinda like outward.

Instead of MMO, I would like to see story-driven events in League. Either single-player or coop mission which will follow the storyline of a certain event.

They seem more interested on the alt universes then the main universe.

It's average. It pales next to Witcher or Andromeda series (first 3 not dat Andromeda sjw bullshit) Good for teenage kids but not that good for older and experienced audience

I'm pretty sure they can do something without creating an MMO.

what about a regular RPG?

A MOBA isn't realistic tbh. They are massive undertakings and usually fail because of the dominance of WoW

Even if it doesn't straight up fail, you have to remember this is Riot. League is still a massive game and if the MMO doesn't produce a similar result then Riot is gonna discontinue it. It's not gonna be like a TERA Online where they say "Ok WoW still has 95% market share, but hey the game is profitable so lets keep going".

An mmo won't quite work unless they decide on an actual cemented lore. As it is now the story would be almost entirely different in a year.

I feel you, I'm still waiting for that RPG so I can lay waste to the *#&@ show that is Demacia. XD.

The worst part is they focus on 1 character for like a whole month. And those characters are most of the time new or popular characters.

I remember the Burning Tides event, which was pretty cool in the way of lore interaction. They basically just did it to accompany Gangplank's rework; I don't remember how the Gangplank mains took the rework, but the whole process felt epic to watch.

Also, Butchers Bridge is a great alt map for ARAM and Black Market Brawlers was/is hands down the best game mode Riot has ever made.

I think if they did more events like Burning Tides then we could get some more cool things out of Runeterra's lore. I honestly don't know why they haven't after they introduced missions into the new client. ######Fun fat, Dead Man's Plate was originally an item introduced by Black Market Brawlers. Riot decided to keep the item in standard Summoner's Rift after people wanted some of the items to be added into the game. Many of them were a little wacky and overtuned, but Dead Man's fit the bill for a standard tank item almost perfectly!

I think it would be cool if Riot made an MMORPG or just an RPG with the League lore. You could choose between Demacia or Noxus to start with as the 2 first major factions and then they could add they more options in later on which side you wish to start with in. Bandle city would be a neutral hub, trading zone, social space, etc. where players could interact with one another on opposing sides. Demacia and Noxus would have different quest lines that would take the player to different regions in Runeterra like the Freljord, Piltover & Zaun, Ionia, Targon, Ixtal, Shurima, and Bilgewater and the Shadow Ilses would be more of an end game area I guess.

The art was initially what drew me into the game.

Although I don't care much for mmos, I think one based in Runeterra would be awesome.

What I really want to see is a full on animated Netflix series (like Castlevania), or a movie.

Something tells me their MMO would be garbage...

A little bit unrelated but also a cool idea.

Back in the golden days of league there was an event like a tournament were Noxus battled Ionia but the players decided the outcome two teams played one only played Ionian characters other only Noxian characters and the winner made Ionian boots of lucidity so yeah Ionia won.

I would like to see more of this but the player-base can participate so that Actual league events can shape the lore in ways and add new things to the game probably not going to happen but would be cool!
