So far we have 3 Darkin characters in the game 
. This could be suggesting that Riot's next champion might be a female Darkin champion, based on the new Varus lore comic.
We might even get to see 2 new Darkin characters be released at the same time, since Riot decided to put some attention directly to the Darkin Story/Lore, this might suggest the comeback of the Darkins, that were forgotten for a long time?
I wonder if they would release the darkin female along with the aatrox rework. Would be different.

I doubt that the next new champion is going to be a Darkin. While I would love to see a female Darkin champion, Kayn is still too new for me and I would like them to explore in some other directions for now.
This whole year has been pretty filled with supernatural beings.
Vastaya, which are inherently magical creatures with shapeshifter ancestors.
Darkin, ancient race of demons sealed in weapons.
Demigod, magical representation of nature forces.
Aspect, representing the theme of a trickster god.
So I would like to see some champions which are not hugely connected to magic next year. People from Zaun and Piltover using technology, thief archetype from Bilgewater, new creature from the Void. Stuff like that. We got alot of mythology this year, time for something else.
Could Cassiopeia get a lore rework and become one of the darkin? It does mention the serpent statue.
I don't think the next champion is gonna be a darkin. It might be released sometime next year tho.
I was also questioning whether Vladimir might play a role in the whole darkin storyline as well. In the comic Varus said that the Darkin gave blood magic to mortals and powerful mages back in the darkin days tried to use that magic against them and failed.
Vladimir is apparently not the only hemomancer in Noxus but he's at least important enough to be a character in League so maybe he will play his role in this whole thing.

I wonder if they might rework Nocturne's lore for him to be like the spirit of the last darkin (not including the female darkin hinted at in Varus's story) that hasn't been hinted at. No one seems to knowing anything about him and as said in Varus's comic, humans of the modern day and age of Runeterra have forgotten the darkin war ever happened. I mean he uses duel wielded blades on his arms and he is only intent on killing people, I mean he's also an assassin and kills when people are asleep so the possibility is still viable until Riot says other wise.
Anyone feel like the normal Humans of the rift are getting boxed out by Gods and Demons, and generally, the Gods and Demons tend to be the more broken champs people complain about? Pretty soon Ashe and all the other Humans with "unique abilities" will go bye bye.
