Anyone else think Urgot was defeated a little too easily in Child of Zaun?

The build up to Urgot was great, and his introduction was great, until he was captured because Cait shot a net at him that totally could have been burned and blown apart by his incendiary shotgun knees (plus the fact that his crab legs are probably pretty strong). I did like his final words before being locked up, but his actual capture was rather lame and anticlimactic, with Vi and Cait taking him down seemingly without issue, despite him supposedly being this hulking, heavily armed super villain character.

Remember the last part he looked like a spider sitting in his web. I feel there is more coming. Urgot wanted to be captured probably so he can wreak havoc from the inside of Piltover and such.

I feel the same way. The story has been great, but I wish there was a proper fight scene versus Urgot.

My guess as to why there wasn't one is because Caitlyn and Vi don't wear any protective gear to speak of. So in order for them to survive unscathed, Urgot and his followers would have to miss every single shot, which would make for a poor fight.

Although, if you ask me that would be an excellent opportunity to let a character lose a limb and have it replaced by a prosthetic. Given that it's Piltover we're speaking of, the prosthetic wouldn't make the character physically weaker, but it would still feel like serious consequences. Cait or Vi would be changed forever by the encounter, giving it significantly more impact. If we assume that it's Vi who lost a limb, that could also make Urgot's message resonate with her, even though she doesn't want it too. A subconscious thought of "I survived because I am worthy." that she doesn't want to think out loud.

Honestly I think the fight was so short was because the author had a limit on how long the story could be.

Kinda late here, but the ending of the story that describes urgot as a “spider waiting in a web” makes it seem like he wanted to get captured to further his master plan

Well I hadn't read the story but I guess I'll get on it and pretend I don't know that happens.

I like to imagine that Janna was involved in making this miracle happen.
