Shaco desperatly needs a VU/VO and a new Lore

With "Jhin" supposedly being in a theme of a "masked psycho killer", where does this leave Shaco Shaco ?He's basically a joke at this point.He's the Joker/Killer Clown-type character that Riot is shoving down our throats.He suffers from the same stereotype problem as old GPGangplank.He seriously needs a Visual Update and a new Lore to know more about him.

But the cool thing about Shaco is that he is a mysterious character.

Fine.We don't need to know why exactly he does what he does but we could know a few things:

  • What's his favourite type of victims.
  • What's his favourite method of killing.
  • Where he cames from.

Gameplay-wise, I think he's pretty unique.Not my favourite playstyle but I know a lot of players who love ShacoShaco how he is(although I wouldn't mind a new E).

And that's it.These are my concerns about Shaco and I'd like to know what you people and Rioters think.

If they rework his lore, then they're going to rework his title as well like they did with Mordekaiser, and he's going to become something like ''the chaos clown'' or some shit like that.

I'd like to speculate that the title "Demon Jester" doesn't mean he's an actual demon jester. It could mean he's a psychopathic assassin-for-hire with a sick, twisted sense of humor.

From what I can see, he could originate from Noxus before getting lost within the Glades and was slowly driven mad. Lulu and Shaco do share a similar theme, after all.

I wouldn't be surprised that Shaco could be a former friend of Lulu and Pix until he went batshit crazy. From what I can theorize, Shaco learned to use the enchanted magic within the Glades and twist it into whatever he pleases. Lulu wants to stop Shaco from destroying the Glades and cause actual harm to anyone outside of it.

Personally I like his wild card nature. It's just such a novelty to have his silly demon clown self strolling around Summoner's Rift that I think it contributes to his intended vibe. As for his background, why does he need one? The moment you clear away the uncertainties surrounding his bio he just becomes more of a clown guy and less of a demon.

tl;dr I think Shaco's in a good spot right now lore wise. You might disagree with me, but it's just my opinion. Not saying that every mysterious champion should lack a backstory or trivia, but I think it's okay for Shaco to pave his identity through his playstyle instead.

If ever he'll be reworked, Visually or Lore-wise, I can see him akin to Tahm Kench, a demon. I believe he was known to appear/attracted to things with negative emotion and cause chaos or something like that. Although he's human-enough to get an interview, although he did stabbed the interviewer to near-death at the end of the interview.

If Tahm Kench is a demon of desire, perhaps Shaco can become a demon of chaos.

I love Shaco, Id love to see Riot do something with him for sure though. Hes kinda just sitting in the back of the room filled with champs getting updates. I mean I dont want an update on him nor a VU but I mean some sort of event where Shaco is a major role in would be awesome. Sounds kinda selfish considering Im a Shaco main but I think like an April Fools event for Shaco would be nice. I love at the state he is in right now gameplay wise, I love Shaco dearly as he is now. I just want to see more of a story to him.Shaco item 1300 item 3087

Fun fact; He's voiced by the awesome Adam Harrington, the voice of old Karthus, Kassadin, Ryze and Mordekaiser.

I think it's time he gets a VO update but not without a VU to go with it.

Visual and lore update, yes.

Rework, no. He does not need one. I honestly don't trust Riot to rework my favourite champion, who is in a good place right now.

If they rework him I can bet his AP build will be deleted just like AP Tristana.

The only thing that could be changed is his passive.

the problem with Shaco is they didn't really give him any lore so they don't have anything to go on for a lore update Same issue with Evelynn

he doesnt really wear masks except on his masked shaco skin. its still questionable if that is a mask or his actual face on his default.

Visual update would be KILLER. I enjoy this champ and many other champs due to stealth and outplay mechanics. As for his kit. I enjoy it! However, it's very hard to grasp and use him to his full potential. The mindset I have when I play him is "How can I outplay you?" immobile Champs are easy but when you get those other blinks and stealth champs or big tanks then it becomes a problem.

*I Actually like that idea hes not really that 'evil jester' I dont get that feeling with him its more of him causing chaos around summoners rift.
