What are your thoughts on the new Arcade skins?

Personally, I like all of them and for the first time I think I'll be buying all of them when I get back to League.

Why do i like them? I like them because they delve into specific mini-themes, or basically genres of games that I grew up with being the son of an arcade junkie.

What do I mean by mini-themes? Inside the Arcade theme, Hecarim has Guitar Hero/music games as his mini-theme, Miss Fortune has shooters like Duck Hunt as hers, etc.

Ezreal - I definitely feel his is the strongest. In case you haven't heard the name Square Enix ever he's got a very RPG feel and he's very closely designed to look like Cloud w/ one of his emotes being based off the interface of FF7. Overall I have high hopes for this one as Ezreal doesn't really have a ton of unique or interesting skins and this definitely fits the bill.

Corki - Space Defender. Some of the most entertaining arcade games IMO were Galaga, Galaxian, and Invaders (or was it Space Invaders?). Very unique, especially among the Arcade skins (the most generic Arcade skins being Sona and MF and possibly Ahri's new skin) feel and the 8-bit on his Gatling Gun looks really crisp. Also that Invader kill emote was glorious.

Ahri - I might be a bit biased since Ahri main but I felt like her skin was definitely the lowest quality of the three. From the preview, the mini-theme wasn't there at all. it simply looked like a, as I described, "mismash of arcade-goer paraphernalia that doesn't really fit in." You've got the cat ear headphones which picked up a ton of popularity in Japan, a Game Boy advance slung at her side, and an outfit that looks like it was taken straight out of Avril Lavigne's closet. The only saving grace is the periodically color changing tails which is definitely an effect I want to see Riot implement in the game.

When I see arcade ezreal I can't help but think of the main character from Kingdom Hearts... And I forgot his name. Oh well.

Sora.

Sora is also a creation of Square Enix. It's why the two share very similar animation styles.

Nope. The headphones she's wearing are based off a brand of cat ear headphones that have been popular in Japan for like a year or two now. Nothing really Star Fox about her outfit, especially since Star Fox characters wore uniforms and that is anything but uniform.

Besides, say it was there. Wouldn't that just reinforce the whole mismash thing I was getting at? Because the only place that would reference it is just her head and headgear.

Well, we can always look at it as someone from the "real world" that got pulled into the game.

After all, she's the only one who is seen ENTERING the arcade world as opposed to already being there. Which means she's not a program like everyone else, but someone trying to figure out how the game works (or someone who had unlocked such an ability for a while)

That, and I think the gameboy is there, so it won't be the exact same communicator that Fox has on his belt.

I would assume she's not ORIGINALLY from the same dimension that the other arcade skins are. She could be a visitor which is why she looks like someone who just happens to have a bunch of random paraphernalia and enjoy visiting the arcade.

These AU worlds for skin lines have lores to them. Veigar is self-aware of the fact that he's in a game and is actively causing glitches to cheat his way to being the strongest in the game.

I mean, when you get pulled into a parallel world, you tend to develop special abilities and powers (hopefully)

But hey, at least htis makes her different from everyone else on the grounds that she's not code and thus already aware that everything is a game. No programming in her.

Whereas, Riven, Sona, and MF are probably game characters that are in a general quest.

Some say the reason Hecarim looks vastly different from everyone else is because he USE to be a boss, but after being defeated in battle by the MCs, he decided to join them on their quest.

Well the whole color scheme of her outfit seems to match that of Fox. She has a white jacket,green on her pants,red scarf and some headgear(notice that fox is wearing some too,though it is mostly on the back of his head)

It could be a small nod,even if it is likely not the main inspiration for the skin.

The Ezreal one is pretty ok, I feel like the Ahri one is pretty much the Riven one. I dunno. I don't personally care for the over the top "gamer" skins. I don't usually buy any team skins either, so I'm probably not the demographic for these.

PROJECT, Super Galaxy and Full Metal is my shit though. I love future skins.

I love the Ezreal skin, I don't care what people say. His ult animation is finally different and he has particle effects. However, his q needs to be a little bit wider, imo.

I like Corki's the best and Ezreal's is good too and I don't even own either one. Don't like Ahri's though. For me it's tied with her worst skin.

ahri definaltly feels like it lacks any sort of reason to be there, ezreal is my favourite and corki is only slightly behind (anything that makes ezreal's ult a swordbeam is instantly amazing)
