This post follows a potential if unlikely interpretation.
The Blood Brothers: two of Noxus' prodigal sons. One, the patriot, seeks to purify Noxus of its bloated aristocracy—the other, the maverick, who places himself first, second and last ahead of others. They're very much unalike. They're even rivals at times, but they're brothers all the time. But what drives these two rather popular champions? Perhaps I can shed light on their relationship, and how these two Noxian bruisers came into their role as political emissaries on the Rift.
Darius and Draven were orphaned at a young age; the specifications of which haven't been revealed yet. But in an disputed political battleground like Noxus, it's not unjustified to immediately think assassination; in fact, it's quote common, considering the occupation of Talon and Katarina, the latter of the two being a daughter of an esteemed Noxian house. So were Darius and Draven's parents assassinated by rivals in the political scene? Possibly. It could explain why Darius held such a deep animosity toward Noxian nobility... though if their parents were important enough to be assassinated, they probably wouldn't have left Darius and Draven alive. More likely, their family was thrown out of house and home for monetary or personal reasons.
Regardless of the reasons, the young brothers were accosted onto the streets. Darius fought to protect himself and Draven, that much is known. To survive on the streets though, one needs more than brute force. For all of his value on strength, Darius is probably cunning. He himself says "Exploit every weakness", and to know someone's weaknesses, you need to estimate their strengths. So why not apply that to himself? Why limit his opportunities to strictly physical deeds? So, he turned to his only ally: his brother.
Enter the Blood Brothers—a duo of boy performers. Sounds like a stage name, doesn't it? Draven probably already had his "lovable" personality, but he could have been just as good then too. He has amazing hand-eye coordination and incredible finger dexterity; men could lose fingers doing what Draven does (and that's what makes Draven so impressive). In addition, Draven knew when to up the ante, how to please the crowds. With Darius' supervision and cooperation, Draven probably raked in the gold for them both, feeding his self-maintained image of importance (because he** was**). Among other odd jobs, they eked a live for themselves until they were old enough to join the military. By then, Darius already had a soldier's discipline and sense of responsibility. The story becomes more familiar then on.
Darius later aligned himself with Swain, who he believed to be a man of merit, and deserving of a place in Noxus' elite. But how did they meet? Well, I could touch on that later, if you so do wish...
