Y'all have no idea what's coming for your champion do you? I feel ike 90% of volibear mains are just casuals that don't read the lore. Y'all are in for a MAJOR shock. He ain't gonna be a cute bear no more lol. I seriously urge you to read his lore with Udyr/Sej if you haven't. You'll be so shocked because it's so gross and twisted.
Let's set these false expectations straight.
The mains are assuredly aware of Volibear's different depiction in lore. With most being curious, if not amazed because someone finally has a vision for this neglected character.
That story doesnt reflect exactly on how Voli's rework will be expressed, it's not even his main solidifying lore and WAAARGHBOBO certainly isnt the dictator of this theoretical update. The writer still has to compromise with the rest of the devs on how they all agree to best express Volibear's VGU, especially on the in-game aspects. Which could go in any direction they deem a best fit.
I'm not sure how Volibear is a "cute bear" in the first place.
He is a huge icebear warrior that mauls people with his bare claws and bites them.

Hmm having checked over at VoliMains reddit. Most seem aware, there is some positive voices for the change with few but noticeable indicating trepidation about the horror tone, and wish for him to remain a bear.
Nothing against him being an evil demigod. Just the horns and eyes.
