New splash arts are AMAZING, though I noticed a small error/inconsistency...

Of all of the 11(!) amazing new splash arts that hit the PBE today, probably my favorite has to be Tristana's. It just captures her playful destruction-loving personality so well in that face and gesture (she's like if Jinx hadn't gone mad somewhere down the road.. and was a yordle).

Upon inspecting it a bit, I noticed she has the new Yordle characteristics in place, by that I mean the cat-like ears more on top of the head (as opposed to small "elf" ears on the side like on live), and the small amounts of fur covering them, and also what appears to be slightly elongated canine teeth.

One thing that I noticed though from looking her over, she has 5 fingers!

Based on current yordle designs, aren't yordles supposed to have 4 fingers?

You even gave Veigar 4 fingers, and his splash art came out the same time Trist's did. :(

It's honestly not a HUGE deal to me, but it is still an inconsistency in the style and design of the game, and I think it should be fixed. :(

EDIT: images aren't showin up, not sure why, gonna make some formatting changes to see if I can make em come out from hiding EDIT2: Got images working in a gallery. Yay. :)

I don't want to ignore your point as it is a valid criticism.

I just really like the new splash art, I kind of don't mind the fingers since some other splash arts recently also have similar minor errors.

It's ironic that the one splash that can bring up so many problems with other splashes is also the one that has the most personality in it (And in my opinion, the best of the latest batch of new splashes).

Teemo On his ORIGINAL splash art (No skins), wear gloves, so you cant say how many fingers has. Rumble Wear gloves like Teemo Kennen 5 Heimerdinger 4 Gnar 4 again Veigar 4 as well Ziggs 4 Corki needs VU like the old heim Amumu 4

Tristana 5 Poppy ? Lulu 5

Just looked at Poppy's splash arts.

Her base has 4 fingers, Lollipoppy has 4, Ragdoll Poppy has 5, Scarlet Hammer has 5, and the others I can't tell.

So still not sure if it's meant to be a conscious design choice or a an inconsistency flaw.

Consequence of the Megling Genocide artistic choice that Riot allows. There isn't really any consistency to the number fingers the have; I would have attributed this to their sexual dimorphism but other male Yordles have five fingers as well, even though no females have four.

Isn't Tristana supposed to be a megling or whatever? Plus I think there was a distinction between the really human-ish Yordles like Poppy and Tristana vs. more hamster-like Ziggs and Teemo.

...the real question is what the heck a megling is.

I like this move to be honest. I think the females need a little more fur to make them appear more Yordle. Also it's common for features to be different in many species when it comes to fur, feathers, and sometimes other, non-reproductive, body parts to vary between the male or female of a species.

If you think that's bad, go look at Alistar and Master Yi's splashes...they alternate between having 4 and 5 fingers all the damn time and it's been that way since the very beginning of LoL.

Megling comment was a joke. If I was Riot I would just say that Yordle fingers vary in number.

I have 5 fingers. Teemo has 5 fingers. Poppy has five. Corki has five, if Riot still consider him as one (they probably do). Even Kennen has five fingers.

So it's more of a "variation" kind of thing. And the parrot (and the design team) are probably making all female yordles have furry ears as well.

I mean, just look at my winter skin...

I just want to underline a VERY important thing you pointed out:

All the male Yordles have 4 fingers, females have 5.

Kennen's was probably an oversight, but that seems to be the running theme here.

Last female yordles (skins or champ) have 5 fingers male yordles have 4 (even the newest skins) Originally female yordles had 4 fingers too (checked skins and classics)

Yordles aren't really conistent. You've got the female Yordles that are human-esque in terms of hair, then you've got the fuzzball males (except Corki, who has the bare skin and a huge mustache.) Then you've got some Yordles like Kennen who have two toes, and then ones like Rumble who have the standard human 5.
