Dont hear those BORING explanations about one random family giving her those cat ears... i will tell you THE TRUTH:

After killing her step mother, Annie discovered that her real mother was actually a Vastayah Witch and she is one as well... the cat ears arent a head bad BUT ACTUAL EARS OF AN ANIMAL, because she is half animal just like her mom.

Everyone tought that her mother died, but she actually turned herself into a cougar and changed her name to Nidalee, but before leaving, she cured her daughter with her magic. Bewitching Nidalee is actually how does she looked before leaving her family.

This is 100% legit, no fake.

She most likely got it from one of the families that took her in for some time. Her lore mentions how she gets taken in from other families from time to time and gets new clothes&food from them.

I was about to say the same thing! :-P

I’ve an honest point to make here: Annie in the video does NOT look anything like the Annie we see in game. I remember one of the art dept. saying that there wasn’t any sort of VU in the works, but Riot really should. Like, they don’t look the same (brown vs red hair, blue vs green eyes, etc)., don’t sound the same... to me, they are similar but completely separate characters. I had to remind myself while watching that video that they were supposed to be the same character.

I love the new lore. But PLEASE give her a VU to compliment the wonderful cinematic and lore update that was given to us.

You are far from the only person to say this. :-)

I will pass it along, of course.

For what it's worth, I know you're more likely to get complaints than praise just because it's the nature of the beast, but I thought it was brilliant. Sure you can say that the look wasn't 100% accurate , but, I mean, Annie is a really REALLY old champion who hasn't really ever had a fidelity update and still has some of the cartoonist design of the oldest characters that doesn't entirely fit into the new universe.

It's like when you watch a movie remaking a show or book or whatever that was set a few decades ago and the new actor and character design don't match the original, but the heart of the character is the same. After a short time you can just look past the differences and you DO see the new character as being the same character. At least it wasn't a challenge to me

I agree here, Annie's video was an excellent prelude to the Dark Child we all know amd love.

really?!? I totally think a vu would totally be epic, although you could probably get away with just changing the base skin (making a it into "traditional Annie") and I'd probably still change some elements from the new cinematic, which color wise is quite grounded in reality and might look bland on the rift. I'd try giving her outfit some nods to the old look while updating it, like maybe bring in the stripped socks from the "a twist of fate" cinematic, or add a backpack or something to what's in the new cinematic, etc.

Not to mention that Annie isn't a sadistic maniac who loves roasting people alive. He's just a scared child who just witnessed her family burn to ashes from a magic that she can't even control.

Terozu1 votes

Yeah and it drove her crazy, as her lore says she's now lost in the innocence of childhood looking for someone to play with...

rtbf2256182412 votes

That's not crazy. It's never mentioned she "enjoys" violence. She didn't even hurt anyone on purpose during the cinematic.

And must i mention that Annie's VO is outdated, now that we have her new lore?

Terozu1 votes

A rioter said the new lore is based off of her voice over.

Specifically, what kimd of trauma would it take for a little girl to like burning people.

rtbf2256182411 votes

In that case, i don't see the connection at all and they did a terrible job at it.

Terozu1 votes

You should probably realize killing her step mom wasn't really an accident. It was a moment of childish rage but it was not accidental. The trauma of losing her sister, her father, her step-mother hating her for no reason and trying to take the last thing she had of her loved ones, it broke her. Annie went crazy. She sees every adult as being like her step mom, and she has no qualms with killing them should they try to harm her or Tibbers.

They did an excellent job. You just fail to see it.

There's a new bio on Universe, but no color story (we figure this animation works as that).

Not planning any in-game updates because we feel her splash is high quality and well-liked, her gameplay is pretty solid, and she is still a very popular champion (especially for new players) so we didn't see a lot of value in changing any of that.

Her current VO was actually a contributing factor to this origin story: the team asked what Annie would have had to go through to find burning other people fun and playful, and decided there was probably some real trauma there. Which means that ANNIE: Origins really is just that - the first spark that leads Annie to develop the personality we see and know in-game.

The post btw So please tell me how a lore event based on her voice over makes her voice over outdated.

The only real differences are hair color and eye color.

idk if the Voice actors are the same, but i much prefer the voice over in the cinematic than in game. it sounds similar to current annie but just better. Basically to simplify it, annie in cinematic sounds like an actual child. annie in game sounds like an adult pretending to be a child. hopefully u guys do new VO.

Well that video was the origins not his whole story until the present day
