I am uset because now there are dozens like her. Yet her powers are still pretty much unexplained.

They explained in the new lore piece that Vastaya/human hybrids can end up as humans with the ability to transform into an animalistic form,which would easily explain Nidalees power.

I'd argue that this gives Riot a better chance to make her stand out as an individual based on who she is rather than what she is if she turns out to be a Vastaya.

I have had the same thought, similar to my thoughts of how the Ascending of shurima could be a ritual that forces generations of evolution to happen within a short time and turns them into a form of Vastaya....... Im curious how this is going to turn out tbh.

I wouldn't call the ascended beings Vastaya. They're effectively immortal and have near godlike power. They aren't really mortal, which Vastaya probably are.
