Ekko's view of Viktor

Ekko "I'll never be like this guy" "You're everything wrong with Zaun"

With the new Viktor lore portraying him as less of a evil mad scientist and more of a misunderstood Nikola Tesla + Karl Marx, and the previous lore being officially a Piltover viewpoint, would it make sense for Ekko to see Viktor in a sympathetic light?

The thing is that Viktor is... as you said: Misunderstood

Ekko knows nothing about him... Remember the boy on the story of Viktor, he feared Viktor until he meet him in person. Ekko is like the boy before meeting him, only knows what he has heard from others... due that is reasonable for him to think that Viktor is evil.

Actually, ekko and his gang vowed to never augment their bodies as they see it as sacrificing their humanity. Chances are, if ekko met Viktor, yeah he'd sympathize with him but the fact remains that viktor's goal is to remove human error via the removal of emotions, which ekko disagrees with.

Yeah its easy to say that when you arent affected by the "Zaun Gray"... but lets wait a few years and see what happens to the lungs and skin of those stupid dudes who tought that Viktor was bad.

Viktor's mission isn't to save them from the gray, its the removal of human error. Not being affected by the gray is just a bonus.

As seen in Camille's, ori's and blitz's stories you can augment areas of infection but chances are it will still spread since its in your bloodstream. So unless you're about that robot life, augmentation isn't a surefire cure for the gray.

Yet we have Project Ekko :P

I know, I know, skins aren't cannon. Kinda upsetting though as an Ekko main since that skin is sick.

Well Ashes project dialogue implies that the project champs were tricked into the project with lies and false promises(or even blackmailed in some cases, for example in that universe Yone is still alive and kept hostage by the project-creators)

I think Ekko is supposed to be a pretty bright kid in the lore. Would be surprised if he was this close-minded.

It's more likely that they wouldn't agree on the whole bod mod issue, as Wrathof300 mentioned. However, would those disagreements illicit Ekko's quotes about Viktor? I feel like Ekko has to recognize the good in Vik, not just the bad.

The problem is that, the good that ekko sees in zaun which is the freedom of expression and individuality, Viktor sees as a problem that only allows for flaws. Its not really that they see each other as enemies (although viktor's vigilnauts, would send a bad message) its more that they don't see eye to eye on a grand scale. Sort of the same reason why Viktor and jayce got into arguments, not seeing eye to eye.

I could see them working together given the scenario though, that would be awesome, but we probably won't see ekko support the glorious evolution in canon lore.
