Lore:
After the events of the Rune Wars, a Crystal of pure starlight fell from the sky and landed in Ionia. The power emitting from the Crystal reached the attention of
, who hid the Crystal deep within the forests of Ionia to keep it hidden from those who would try to use the Crystal for evil and to put it on the path he could feel it was destined for. Over the years the Crystals power leaked to the surrounding wildlife, granting them the gifts sentience and longevity.
Over time, a band of monkeys came to revere the Crystal, performing elaborate rituals in hopes to gain more power from it.
One day as a ritual was being performed, the Crystal exploded with energy. When the dust settled, all that was left was a baby monkey where the Crystal once sat. The Monkey Shaman could feel the power of the Crystal within the newborn monkey and took it upon himself to raise the child to get him to reach his full potential. The monkeys named him "Kong" and over the years, proved to be the greatest warrior in the forest, as no creature could best him in combat.
In time the monkeys nominated him as their leader and the monkey king was born. As the years past, Kong found a group of strange "hairless monkeys" (noxian soldiers) who proved a greater challenge than any Kong has faced before. He asked the Shaman about them, to which he informed him of the hairless monkeys known as humans. Kong, seeking greater challenges, left the forest in search of more humans to fight.
After days of travel, Kong found
, training alone. Kong noticed his strange movements and began to copy him.
, frustrated about the loss of his village, attacked Kong in a desperate rage.
Throughout the fight, Kong could feel the loss Yi has suffered and how his anger subsided as they sparred. when the burden of Yi's hatred had fully lifted, he had Kong by the tail. With harmony restored within Yi, he let go of Kongs tail and thanked Kong for putting him back on the right path. Kong, interested in this strange way of fighting that Yi had used, asked him many questions about it.
He came to learn of Wuju and the responsibility that befalls anyone who becomes a practitioner of the art. Kong immediately decided he wanted to learn from Yi everything he could about the art. To prove to Yi his dedication to learning the style, he changed his name to Wukong and vowed to become the greatest warrior the world has seen, using Wuju.
Yi agreed, but under the condition that Wukong would one day teach Wuju to others. when Wukong returned to the forest, he learned the art of Wuju, and decided to pass along what he learned to the other monkeys. From that day on, The monkeys became the guardians of the forest and protected all life in the forest using the martial art they learned from their king.
Probably would leave the stuff about his staff and maybe a bit of his friendship with
for the fluff text part of his lore. He would likely end up fighting her, thinking she was trying to harm some villagers and through fighting her he learns that she was really trying to help them, offhandedly mentioning the story of him getting his staff from Yi, who got it from his old friend Doran.
