I do think more people possessed by an ancient magical being has been done to death in this game now.

I also think the three guys in one body is pretty silly. Also makes the Darkin look dumb, since apparently the fact there are two humans are what's keeping Varus under control and not going on a murderous rampage. Darkin boy would have been better off just picking one. But no. He had to take the lovers because... plot or something.

That said, I wasn't exactly chomping at the heels for more of old Varus either.

Because its 2 of them, they can resist him in certain instances, but this isn't just "he took them both what did he expect". Case in point Kayn who is just one person yet I would argue has much more control over Rhaast compared to Val and Kai's resistance against Varus.

Kayn is that much more strong willed and physically powerful in comparison to Val and Kai. Hence probably the reason why Varus decided to create a stronger vessel using the 2 of them than just corrupting one, the consequence plays out as we already pointed out.

kai is dead ,the darkin took the body of val that was still living and keeps the other soul alive trough this possesion ,though trough their love they sometimes can stop the darkin from doing something...it actualy serves varus as val and kai seem to be having their little affair in a private corner mostly looking the other way while varus does his stuff. Val has to be aware that without the darkin to keeps kai alive he would lose this symbiosis relationship with the one he love so much he couldnt let go in death, if he truly resisted the darkin val would lose kai, so even though they dissagree with varus they dont really want to let go of him either...

Its a lot more about accepting reality, getting over it, and the mourning process to me , reducing it to :2 gay boys in a darkin body is rather simple and easy, look further..... : in order to control varus val would probably have to let go of kai accept his death and move on ,in order to have the concentration and willpower to overcome a darkin, seems like untill then varus knows he is rather safe in this body

yes this is a kinda strange treesome..homosexual symbiosis,wether you like it or not is up to you but can<t complain about it being unoriginal

I still think the old Varus lore made for a more compelling story-seed. But I'll admit that I have a soft spot for ethically ambiguous eldtich abominations (which the old Thing in the Pit was) and have an almost irrational hate for Darkin.

DyQuill literally told us that we should always be rehashing the same conversations about what we like in the lore so Riot doesn't forget what we like about characters and end up changing it by mistake.
