The 4th or the 5th Darkin will not be a weapon, but scales. Also, the champ will be a mage or supp

Not animal scales, but the tool you use to weight stuff, very likely a medival variant of it. Why would I say such nonsense? Well, the current Darkin all currently follow the trope of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They ain't even subtle about it: when the five Darkin ride, the world will burn. At least they will at least try to do that.

Now the four horsemen come with certain iconic weaponry: the first rider is Pestilence, who wields a bow. The second one is War, who wields a sword. The third is Hunger, who has the scales. And the fourth finally is Death, who wields the typical iconic scythe. Don't three of those sound awkwardly familiar already?

Here's also a short refernece:

Now the scales were here used as a symbol for the merchant, who would make his food so expensive none could buy it and therefore strave to death. At least that's how he fits into the group thematically with the whole "things that killed people in the middle ages" kinda stuff.

But because you can't fight with some scales, this champion will most likely be a mage, either as a support or as a midlaner.

At first I thought it might be coincidence, but with 3 of the 4 iconic weapons being shown in the same demonic faction, that's not just a coincidence anymore and it's obvious what overarching theme Riot is rolling with this here,

I think this theory is coincidence and long shot thinking. Riot has continuously showed us that they are straying far away from cliches - and nothing is more cliche than that trite biblical end of the world nonsense about 4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

They picked a scythe for Rhaast because they didn't have a champion who wielded a scythe before. Rhaast also doesn't encompass death any more than Aatrox or Varus. The Darkin are simply bloodthirsty on the while.

I can see how you think Varus encompasses pestilence, considering how his kit works. But I think that's also coincidence because his kit was based around his old lore of Varus being infected by a lingering corruption. The new Varus is just out for vengeance and blood.

So yeah, I think it's coincidence and nothing more.

It's actually Famine, not Hunger. Also, I have a possible idea for what the 5th Darkin's weapon will be.

as much as i would love to see scales on darkin you didnt think through your statements, yes 3 of them fit description indeed but there are 5 darkins so you are missing 2 of them not just 1.

You can make anything fit into the 4 horses of apocalypse if you try hard enough... Remember when people said that the Void champions were the 4 horses of apocalypse? or when they said that the members of the Shadow isles were the 4 horses? or even the main human city states?

There are 5 dakins alive, not 4 and there were more than that before the others died. Varus does not fit, at all. Varus only wants to kill the humans, not the whole world. Aatrox doesnt care about destroying the world of anything like that, he just really likes war as an ""art"" and you cant have wars if you kill everyone. Darkins are trapped inside weapons, specifically weapons... not scales or brooms or musical instruments or anything else. There is no "horsewoman of the apocalypse", but there is at least 1 female darkin. Darkins are not demons. Did i mention that there are 5 darkins and not 4?

But it doesnt matter because people will always keep making theories about the horses, even if Riot already made a champion that was a walking reference to that and he failed... so, they changed it and deleted everything related to the horses of apocalypse.
