After all, from which place Fiddlesticks has came? (also, he needs some updates)

According to the lore, the mage who summoned Fiddlesticks, has came from Zaun, which made me think that Fiddlesticks is a Zaunite champion. However, this would not make any sense. Fiddlesticks is unlike any common Zaun champion. He has nothing to do with technology or science, he looks like a magic being; a demon, that has came from darkness, just like the beings from Shadow Isles.

Speaking of which, it would make sense if Fiddlesticks was considered a Shadow Isles champion. He has everything that other Shadow Isles champions have, his kit, his theme, his model... Everything remembers fear, darkness, demons, evil, specters... Everything that you can find on Shadow Isles, but nothing that you can find on Zaun.

Fiddlesticks' lore should be updated accordingly, especially since it currently mentions the League itself, something that Riot said that it is no longer canon.

I read Fiddlesticks' old lore, and on my opinion it makes much more sense than his current lore. A witch that lives on a florest and creates a scarecrow demon. Yes, this is somewhat cliché, but it fits Fiddlesticks' theme a lot more.

Also, he needs a new VO. His current VO is terrible, it contains only very few quotes. The champion that is coming, Tahm Kench, has more attacking quotes on his VO than Fiddlesticks' all quotes thogether.

I think fiddle could fit into the voodoo lands.

I know the voodoo lands are currently just a foot note in Annies lore,but I'd really like it if they were explored a bit more and I think Fiddlesticks would fit perfectly into a nation that is full of dark mages.

Nah Zyra Rengar & Nidalee all come from the kumungu jungles and they all have a certain jungle feeling to them.

A scarecrow doesn't really fit into that(I mean crows have nothing to do with jungles).

Fiddlesticks, by IoW status lore, was summoned from some other existence, as Istvaan, the Zaun Summoner who brought him, performed an extra-planar summoning. This means that, by all intents and purposes, Fiddlesticks has no real alliances, and thus is considered independent.

When retconned, I wouldn't be surprised if they shoved him onto the Shadow Isles, especially considering we have zero idea where he's from. I honestly feel like they could flesh him out more and still keep him as an independent, considering how, in the original lore, Fiddlesticks never actually goes out actively killing people, but instead stays put in the room he was summoned in.

He isnt a lone ranger he has friends : Nocturne and Shaco i believe.

Nocturne and Shaco have no association with Fiddlesticks. They were all around in Runeterra in some way, shape, or form, whereas Fiddlesticks was deliberately brought from another plane by Istvaan. Nocturne and Shaco literally have never met Fiddlesticks outside of League. No one has.

About as "official" as "because we said so". They have no reason to know each other. Fiddlesticks, aside from being used on the Fields, has only ever been in the same room. No one ever sees him unless they're going to be killed by him, as he was the designate "Executioner" and as such is isolated, and the same would go for Nocturne.

Unless you plan on telling me something I don't know, like how the three have long talks underneath the moonlight about their imprisonment by the League (or in Shaco's case, how he decided to just show up and join).

Besides gameplay (they have a flee, they jungle), they're hardly related. They kill people. They never even ended up in the League for the same reason.

I meant lore, They are all non runeterra (Born not summoned) they are all trapped in the League of legends and are all merciless (Shaco will kill anyone, nocturne was summoned and wanted to kill everyone, fiddle will execute anyone)

Shaco willingly went to the League and they let him in. For all we care, he's not actually trapped. No one even knows where he's from. For all anyone knows, he's been in Valoran since his inception.

Nocturne was baited into servitude in the League after killing a huge number of people in their dreams. It's more of a prison than him acting as a champion. His own Judgment notes that he's spent eons amongst the Runeterrans, so it's pretty safe to say that he originates from Runeterra.

Fiddlesticks was summoned from another plane of existence, locked himself in his room, and the League doesn't know how to get him out besides using him for an occasional League game. He basically controls his own little area and no one bothers him.

Basically, all three of their origin stories are all different (at least one can be presumed runeterran). One probably isn't even trapped in the League and the League doesn't even want to deal with the scarecrow.

And the fact that they are "merciless" is common amongst a LOT of champions. The entirety of the Shadow Isles, every Voidborn, Sion, Brand, Lissandra, etc. are all rather merciless.

They're literally just friends because Riot said so. There's no standing justification, either pre- or post-retcon.

He was summoned from a nexus (nocturne) and so he isnt from runeterra but a different existence. Your usually friends with people that are alike you, i like league you like league is that grounds for me liking you? very much so. Probably isnt even trapped, Shaco is.

It is unkown where shaco is from, but why rune terror and not another place?

Nocturne only attacked the Field Architect, he was never summoned from the Nexus. If you read his Judgment, which is about as canon as the rest of his lore, he has spent EONS existing in Runeterra. He's been in existence for who knows how long as an ethereal thought creature invading and feeding off of magical essence.

And they're not even alike. As I already stated, they have nothing in common. If all you needed to do to become friends with other League members was to kill people, then EVERYONE would be friends with each other.

Shaco's motives for killing are unclear, but he seems to be driven by the fact that he thinks death is hilarious, funny, a joke.

Nocturne killed people to feed and survive, never for the hell of it, like Shaco.

No one even knows why Fiddlesticks bothers to kill people, but everyone knows they better stay the hell away from his room.

And Shaco can be from wherever the hell he wants. All anyone knows is that the League is only keeping an eye on him, and isn't actively preventing him from leaving, especially since they let him in so willingly.

Also, by pre-ret standards, Nocturne and Fiddlesticks are in perpetual isolation outside of League matches, which even then they are rarely present. They never make contact, so they shouldn't have any relationships to begin with.

Before Nocturne, people believed that dreams were figments of their imagination, meaningless images that flashed through the mind when one slept. This belief was put to the test when a rash of sleep-related incidents started afflicting summoners of the League. Some would wake up screaming, terrified and beyond consolation. Some could not fall asleep, slowly going mad as the nights ticked by. Some simply never woke up. Physicians were baffled until a Field Architect happened to pass out next to a nexus on Twisted Treeline. Witnesses said he cried out once and then stopped breathing. Immediately after, magical energy arced out from the nexus, and Nocturne appeared.

OBSERVATION

The Field Architect has had a long day. Surveying the grounds for signs of degradation is no small task; taking readings every five feet is essential in order to detect even the slightest disturbances in the intricate energy fields.

His work complete, the architect makes his way back to the summoning platform, where he passes a nexus that should have been dormant. An unbidden spark inside the nexus catches his eye. He turns to investigate only to be struck by a wild burst of energy arcing out of the nexus. The architect collapses to the floor in a heap, sprawling on the unforgiving cobblestone.

His body shrivels as a noxious trail of thick smoke pours out of his open mouth. It is shivering with life and pulsing with horrors.

It is born of nightmares.

REFLECTION

Nocturne had drifted through the minds of humans for endless expanses of time. He beheld the faces they yearned for, absorbed the desires that coursed through their veins, and inhabited the fantasies that set their hearts ablaze. He lingered within the despicably human illusions they conjured in the narrow expanse that was their puny brains.

One summoner had stood apart from the others. He was decorated with gold chains draped over purple robes. Unaffected by the blindness and horrors, he had chosen to observe impassively as the carnage unfurled. No expression flickered over his face as the pooled blood stained the hem of his robes, nor did his visage change when the dismembered head of his former comrade bumped up against his leg.

The summoner spoke. "Impressive. I see that the eons you've spent leeching off our minds have managed to serve some purpose."

"I know who you are." Nocturne returned.

Of all the champions affected by the retcon, Fiddlesticks arguably has it the worst of all. He literally has nothing right now-no that's not true, this is what he has:

  • He's a creepy scarecrow with ironic powers, since he's supposed to scare away crows.
  • He's a harbinger of something doom related.

That's about it. Even if we don't get an understanding of what he is or where he comes from, something to showcase his place in Runeterra and how people think of him is sorely needed.

He's an extraplanar being, meaning he's from a completely different plane of existence as the other Runeterran champions. The spirit that possesses the scarecrow is even more alien than the Void champions.

He definitely needs a new VO to reflect this

He could easily be reworked into being created by the Grey Order that Annie comes from. After all she can summon the spirit of a bear into her toy. It seems plausible that another member could have bound Fiddlesticks into a scarecrow.
