My theory about the void invasion

Sorry if the post feels a bit messy. Was in a bit of a hurry when I wrote it.

With Rek'Sai being the latest addition to the void lineup, I thought I'd post this theory I've had for a while.

I think the void champion come one and one for a reason, and the order they come in isn't random either. We all know there's an invasion comming, but why? My impression of the void is that they basically find a world, invade it, conquer it and then move on to another one. I'm also getting the impression that Kog'Maw's dad is the mastermind.

I think that all the other voidborn have some kind of mental link to him, allowing him to take part of information they find and give them orders. The ones he sends to Valoran are all adpted to finding a specific type of information.

However, none of the voidborn actually know about this link. It's been very confirmed by now that all voidborn are driven by a hunger. This hunger is the what Kog'Maw's dad uses to make sure they do their jobs. It's also been mentioned that Kha'Zix is driven by instincts way deeper than a human could understand. Perhaps, these aren't instincts at all, and in fact orders from Kog'Maw's dad? Kha'Zix just think they are instincts.

Judging from her bio, the invasion of Runeterra seems to have started with Rek'Sai. She was sent to Runeterra to find out if the planet is inhabitable by voidborn at all. She does this by digging through the earth, making sure there it doesn't consist of a large amount of toxic or dangerous materials.

After that, Chogath was sent to test Runeterra's inhabitants and see if they are to great of an opponent and too big of a risk. Seems like, they where in fact not.

Then, KogMaw was to be sent as a future monarch of this new world, growing up in it to learn how life would be in it. However, being young and weak, he needed a guardian. At first, that guardian was meant to be Kassadin, but his mind was stronger than expected, so Malzahar because the new guardian of choice.

Now, with the monarch in place, it was Khazix turn to make an appearance and gather information on how to addapt the best to life on this new world and it's ecosystem (what tools are needed, what's the best source of food etc.).

Finally, Velkoz made an appearance to find out about any kind of valuable secrets. Because he is more brain than brawn, he was also give bodyguards (as indicated in his lore). However, he wasn't really fond of them and got rid of them in his own way.

Bonus theory

I see two futures for Runeterra: Void Invasion and Glorious Evolution. However, these two could not happen at the same time, because when Viktor got his hands on Kog'Maw (the future monarch) and made him unable to produce, the invasion was deemed a faliure and put on hold. Therefore, Viktor is actually the savior of the world.

How's that for "Jayce is the good guy"?

This sounds actually quite cool,it would explain how all of the void creatures seem to act independently, but they still seem to be loyal to the void in general. also it was never explained who corrupted Malzahars mind(many people thought it could have been vel'koz, but that was proven wrong).

I think Cho'gath might actually be one who is actively trying to bring about a void invasion,I dunno he arguably seems to be less bound by his instincts than the other voidlings(might be only because of his small voice over though),if any of the current voidborn pulls of some plan for the void invasion I'd say it'd be cho'gath, the others are too busy to do their own thing.

Your twist of making Viktor the good guy is an incredibly good idea and your secret invasion works well too. Whether it's Kog'Maw's father is up to debate, since Cho'Gath or Vel'Koz could certainly be the ones pulling the strings, but it all makes a lot of sense.

KogMaw's dad is baron nashor. probobly. Maybe not, but baron does look like he comes from the void. I dont know if the void invasion would be worse than the glourious evoltution though. I mean, its either get killed by void creatures, or be forced to do whatever viktor wants you to do for all eternity, presuming viktor is the only one who keeps his will

So the Void is the Burning legion and Kog'Maw's daddy is Sargaras? (Vel'koz Archimonde, Malzahar Illidan? )

Or are we thinking more Zerg?
