Proposed fixes to long queue times.
Queues are too long! And the main cause of it is that you gave us too much power to choose our roles. That in itself is not a huge problem, I say this because it can be either fixed by a simple mechanic or a small loan of time can be put into making supports more, eh, desirable.
Supports are holding back the dynamic queue time from being as effective as first dreamed up by you, Riot.
I have two propositions.
1 - An IP boost in the 50% range should be awarded if people select any of the following combinations when joining Dynamic queue:
- Main role/Support
- Support/Secondary
- Main role/Fill
- Fill/Secondary
- Fill/Support
- Support/Fill
One flaw is that this wouldn't work for people who have bought everything that needs to be bought with their IP, and have nothing to sink that bonus IP on.
2 - A complete overhaul of the support role. **Goal **
-
Make it a more desired pick.
-
Add items that are largely sought after, and perhaps better than solo items when used to support, but not good when used in a lane by yourself. A good example of what not to do would be
and a great example of what TO do would be
(these are great items and very underused) -
Add a system for support items similar to jungle items, for example, you can have one base item, such as
which could be given an enchant of your choice that will help your team out noticeably and in different ways, or you can just stick with upgrading it to
and contribute with pure damage/map pressure
Overall, number 2 would be ideal as support (I feel) is long overdue for a good old overhaul and revamp, whereas a 50% IP boost for picking this underused role is merely a temporary patch to the issue.
