Why I am no longer buying RP.

I have bought lots of RP, purchased skins that looked cool on champions I liked. Here is my problem.

VUs and Reworks.

Sometimes a rework happens, they change a champion drastically to a point where that champion is far too different to have your interest. Sometimes it is for balance purposes, other times its just to update. This causes me to have fear that I will not get what I paid for.

When Riot does visual updates, they like to scrap great parts of skins. The parts that is what was the selling point for them. Allow me to give some examples.

Deep Sea Kassadin- Though his rework gutted him at first, they somewhat brought him back. This skin went from a really DEEP-SEA green to a bland light green. The skin didn't have any special effects to it so it is very minor. The new skin does look nice but it took away it's best element.

Veigar's rework- I was getting very interested in Veigar, I played him for months, would probably have ended up maining him. Riot releases Final Boss Veigar. This skin to me was amazing and I bought it. I loved what I had gotten. About a month later, he gets reworked and to me, he is now garbage. I loved what he was and I cannot enjoy his current state, this means I have an expensive skin just sitting in my possession. I have tried playing him currently and I just cant do it. I just cant.

Gangplank- I loved his old pirate voice and I think he should have got a traditional skin. People and me loved that he was the generic pirate. I had gotten the Special Forces skin for him for two reasons. The silenced pistol sound and the Airborne attack for his ultimate. His rework comes by and removed the awesome pistol sound and his ult is somewhat kept but it feels like it has less of the effect as it did before.

Cassiopeia- She was probably my favorite mid laner, I had a skin for her that I loved and then she got reworked. I didn't play her to spam Twin Fang, I loved to watch people's health trickle down from the poison. The change for me was minor but i do not like the direction she has been taken in.

Brand- He recently got some new spell effects. They look nice. His ult though is just terrible. Just another generic fireball. I got the Zombie Brand skin which is amazing and his kit wasn't really changed so in the future I will play him from time to time, but his ult feels wrong.

I get that things can be changed, it happens but my point is, I want what I pay for. Everything at this point can be completely changed and ruined because almost every rework causes skins to get nerfed. I wish more care would be taken into keeping what was liked about the character and skins before they get butchered.

CAN I HAVE A REFUND FOR A UPDATED CHAMPION? At this time, we will no longer be granting refunds for updated champions. Click here to read more information. We would love to hear your feedback on this decision, so please feel free to join the discussion and let us know what you think.

Hey all,

Over the past two years we've been ramping up our ability to steadily modernize champions' art, background and gameplay, to the point where champion updates have become an integral part of the overall evolution of League of Legends. When we first began making these updates we were mindful of the fact that we were altering content to which players might be very attached, and with that in mind we agreed to the handful of refund requests from the passionate players who owned updated champions and who sent a ticket to Player Support.

Back then we could do these individual gestures of goodwill because the number of refund requests was pretty low. Requests came largely from players who mained the champ. Once the policy was made public, there was a 10,000%+ spike in requests. We looked at the data and found that a very large majority of requests were from players who weren’t actively invested in the champion pre-update, but were trying to get back RP or IP without using a refund token.

To give you an idea of the impact, every recent champion update has resulted in a storm of support tickets larger than what we typically see from a full day of major server instability. Combine this with the fact that we're on pace to double our annual number of champion updates (6 in 2013, already 7 in first half of 2014) and it begins to significantly impact Player Support's ability to handle critical issues like account recoveries and tech support.

As a result of these factors, we've decided that beginning with the Karthus champion update, we will stop processing refund requests for updated champions. It would be awesome to have a process that specifically targets those players significantly impacted by an update and doesn't interfere with Player Support's ability to quickly solve vital support issues, but we are far off from a good solution to this.

We know this may be disappointing for some players, particularly those actively playing and invested in updated champions. To help address this issue, the champion update team is working on increased transparency (http://community.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-skins/txxQETbY-champion-updateupdate ) when it comes to which champions they're working on. Additionally, the Player Support team has created a central hub (https://support.leagueoflegends.com/entries/40116190-Champion-Rework-Schedule ) with info on past, present, and future champion updates. These efforts should both help you plan your purchases and use of refund tokens and give you better places to voice your feedback and help us fine-tune updates.

If you have any questions about this change, please leave them below and we'll do our best to address them.

Just a friendly reminder here that because you aren't LCS your feedback and opinion and doesn't matter? You spent money to get RP for something you like, someone is better at a game than you, so they stole your money as payment for them playing good, have fun complaining because Riot doesn't care.

well since we talk about riot we can rule common logic out but anyway, they can just check what blizzard is doing in hearthstone. When they nerf a champ (in our case rework) give ppl the ability to refund (FULL REFUND all skins and RP if u used RP to get a cahmp). In this case riot can be a bit more carefull with what they release (less patches too) and they will actually have to listen to what we are saying and asking. Just to give them something to work though, they could simply make at the end of each season one big patch which changes all champs they need to rework and it is only partially refundable (like 25% for skin changes and 50% for total rework)
