Can we please have honorable opponent back?
I have encountered many scenarios where I have wanted to honor an opponent of mine, as well as people who have wanted to honor me.

I want this back too! Enemies deserve honor too for a game well played especially games that were tough. Played a game where the enemy Thresh sat in base for like 10 minutes without DCing then game back. The poor ADC had to lane alone. We won of course but wanted to honor the ADC for doing his best and not just giving up.

There was actually a discussion with the devs about it. They decided with the new implantation of honor it was not what the spirit of honor was about. It was more about what your teammates did. The big issue that I see is quite simple. You honor an opponent when your team does badly or they have a good score line which both are not deserving of honor. Honor is about going above and beyond the call of duty. You know those critical moments. Setting up that sick play deserves a gg, calling to go baron while they are taking dragon deserves a strategy banner and, taking the deaths and not raging or keeping positive deserves a keeping cool. Those things are what honor is about. That doesn't mean that an enemy cant do that but you don't know the whole story when you play against an enemy. You only see what they want you to see.

I'd be fine with it as long as it didn't actually affect honor progression.
The thing with honoring your enemy being abused/farmed/misused, the same thing can be said about people on your own team as well. Someone can be a total shitter and everybody honors him anyways because they find it funny.
Yeah I second that. If youre playing against a good player and you appreciate the fact he isnt saying HA GGEZ NOOBS you should be able to honor an opponent you respect and would like to play against again
The problem is, players are abusing the honor opponent as "you were easy" or "you were free kill/gold" etc. Which is basically dishonorable really, and quite pathetic too and stupid. So Riot decided to remove it. As much as i want it to be back, it will never be back (i hope i'm wrong on this one). Who should we blame? The ones who kept honoring the opponent for the wrong reasons.

Where tf are the honorable opponents right now? All i see is everyone playing Graves/Irelia/Akali/Sion/Jhin, they make it a snoozefest thanks to the balance team. There i gave you a team comp right there too.
opponents are much more honorable than my crybaby rage quitting allies
Just want number of honor to scale with level. At 3 you can honor 1 teamate and 1 opponent at 4 whole team and one opponent at 5 whole team and whole opponent team
GIVE US back honor 
I remember then saying they tried it early on in some of their tests but there was just too much happening on the screen. So maybe they'll come up with something else eventually.
