Road to RIOT: Tracking My Efforts In Becoming A Rioter!
Quick Note: In a heat of passion, I realized this was originally posted in the wrong section of the Boards. I am forever sorry community :(
But here's what I was trying to accomplish, and still am:
Hello again boards, its me again. It's been several months since you last graced me with entrance, and I thank you for every second of it. This will be my story, and my journey as an artist and story teller. I know I am not unique in the sense of dreaming to join the talented artists and hard workers who occupy the various studios around the globe. When moving down to what Alaskan's refer to as "the lower 48", perhaps the most exciting thing about moving was being so close to a RIOT games studio in St. Louis, in arm's reach of my dream. But the road is long and weary, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
As for what you can expect to find here, I plan on doing monthly or bi-monthly projects relating to the League of Legends universe, as well as a variety of other small ideas I come up with. I will constantly add to this as long as I can, and my hope is that when I am finally ready to become a Rioter, this vast collection in the making will show my worth, and display my skill.
If you would like to, support me in my goal with suggestions for projects, such as champion reworks, relaunches, art, and lore writes. I'm not saying I can't do this without you, because I will either way, but I would love your support. My first project is a Lulu Visual update, in which I'm learning as much as I can about 3-D sculpting programs (currently using Sculptris), and coming up with concept art and new lore. As the yordles seem to be the main focus of RIOT, I feel this is an appropriate project to take on. For you Reds reading around and stumbling across this, I'm coming! This is only the beginning!
(This is/was my first update:)
Progress Report: January 23, 2015:
Continuing Lulu FVU (Fan Visual Update), and have a fairly solid idea of what I want her to look like. My previous versions are awful in comparison, but trial and error got me this far. I hope to post one of my final sketches, either a pen outline or a colored version. I've also taken a look at several other yordles to think over (Corki, Amumu, Veigar) . These will also be done to the extent of my Lulu project (hopefully). I also hope to self teach myself how to make mock update previews (y'know, the ability comic slide things). REALLY need to get a stylus and tablet, because sculpting with mouse/track pad is getting old, and I need to improve art quality. Any tips and tricks are most welcome :)
I cannot explain how much this all means to me. I know I have a long way to go, but I have a lot of passion for the universe Riot has created, and the way they carry out the day to day, and continue to do amazing things. I hope you guys give me a chance here, and help me move forward and get closer to achieving this dream of mine. Whether it be your suggestions, feedback, or anything else, I would be most grateful for it all. I thank you for your time, and I hope to impress you all more than I disappoint. I will most likely have Lulu's FVU concept art up tomorrow.
