Work is partly in progress

Quentin is a participant of October's Champion Contest Contest.

**Lore: **

Ever since the Institute of War was founded the numbers of jobs for a certain group increased drastically since less bodies were sliced up and were actually in one part upon their death. This revive of an old traditional profession relived all existing embalmer in Valoran.

But before that happend, things were different. Especially for a young boy:

"I want to go home to Mommy. Why do we even go here anyway?"

"As you know, my son, Dad need these things for his work."

"But it smells so bad and I don't want to do it anymore."

"We have to do it. Otherwise the Noxian generals will chase us out of our house."

"Why would they do such a terrible thing?"

"Because they do that with everybody that isn't useful anymore. This is a bit difficult for you to understand. Maybe when you're older you will see what I mean."

"You always say that."

"I know and I can't do anything against it. Just help Dad to collect the parts, okay?"

Reluctant father and son collected many body parts over the years. And the last time they saw the parts was when a hooded figure collected the parts at their home. Everytime when he arrived he hid himself in the closet in his room and waited until he was told to leave it.

But one day nobody came to tell him. He waited for hours and hours. He fell asleep, waked up and lost any sense of time. He almost starved to death until he couldn't bear it no more. His hunger and curiosity seduced him to open the closet on his own. His room was silent and so the whole house. He left his room and found his parents both lying on the ground. A single candle runned out of wax and darkend the room to the blackness of the night. The young boy couldn't grasp the tragedy before his eyes since he was used to death.

Hours later a neighbor appeared to look through the window and saw the three together lying on the ground. He called local militia to look for the scene and they came to the conclusion of suicide. Since the child was alive he was taken into an orphanage. The corpses were sent to the graveyard.

Days later a stranger appeared at the orphanage with huge interest in the new ophan.

"It's unusual that somebody is demanded after such a short duration, don't you think?"

"I've headed about it at the cemetery."

"So you know the family?"

"Me? No, no. But I have a need for a follower for my workshop and he is perfect fo that."

"I suppose it should be alright to give him a proper future. Follow me."

After some short introductions the young man, not knowing what he will behold, went with the old man that wanted to give him a new home. When they arrived at the workshop he saw many jars filled with strange liquids and bodies lying in glassy coffins. But unlike the fresh ones from the battlefield these corpses didn't smell. In fact this room was as clean as a new, hot blade.

The boy went from one vitreous object to the next and inspected the unharmed, dead bodies.

"You know, I, as an embalmer, take away the death from corpses and refill warmth into it. It is not like the necromantic magic branch or anything close to it. It is an old craft, maybe as old as the human civilization itself, but an honorable one. Even the dead leaders of nearby city-states come from time to time to someone like me and want to look like being alive. I know it can be confusing and hard for the first months, but I have faith in you."

"Are you insane? This is wonderful! I couldn't even imagine that there is such a noble craft as this. My father only collected parts of bodies to sell it somebody."

And so, years past until the old master died and the apprentice took his place as the local embalmer. His love for his former master was expressed by the perfect condition he was kept him.

A few weeks later an ominous man appeared in the workshop and demanded a trade. The corpse of the dead master for the corpses of his parents. The apprentice thought carefully for an answer but decided not to trade. However the man didn't wanted to hear his approval and knocked him out.

The young man found himself tied down to the ground when he woke up. Above him his old master hanging from the ceiling. Unlike before his body was pierced with various tubes in different colors and different liquids within. The hooded man who was haunting him all the time now stood above him, a dagger in each hand and pierced the apprentice' chest with them. A burning of thousand flames filled his screams as he looked for his wounds. The blood from it didn't dropped to the ground. Instead it flew towards his old master filling the red openings on his skin. The last thing he saw was his former master opening his eyes.

Rise, Quentin. Rise anew. - Vladimir

Appearance:

Quentin is an old man with only a few hairs out of his head. His face is mainly used up by a large norse and a big lower jaw. All around his body, especially at his arms, legs and his neck, are red, green and blue tubes coming in and out of his skin/veins. Quentin wears a white-greenish tattered scrub and linen pants filled with holes. He walkes barefoot and lollops askew instead than walking.

Abilities

Innate: Recycling

(Innate): Whenever Quentin damages an enemy directly with one of his abilities, that enemy drops a small vial with the associating color. Quentin can gather these vials and when he does he receives 6-23 mana (5+1*level) and reduces the cooldown of the next cast of the associated ability by 0.5 seconds.

  • Vial drop radius: 150-300
  • Vial drop arc: 120°
  • Vials lasts for 7 seconds.
  • The arc means that the vials will always fly towards Quentin.
  • The enemies can drop green, red and blue vials. Each respective for each ability.
  • Yes, when Quentin gathered enough vials he can cast the same abilties multiple times, theoretically.
  • The DoT Effect of the Vermillionglutaral blobs won't create any vials.
  • Only Quentin can see the vials colors. Enemies will see red vials and allys green vials.
  • Similar to Zac's blobs the vials can be destroyed by enemies.
  • If Quentin has more Vials than needed to reduce the cooldown to 0 seconds. Only the minimum is used.
  • For example: Quentin has 12 blue vials but only a cooldown of 5 seconds. He will only use 10 vials and has 2 afterwards.
  • The flat reduction is applied after Cooldown Reduction.
  • The current number of vials are displayed as buffs.
  • They also can be displayed within the button of the ability to reduce the number of buffs.
  • The buffs lasts indefinite.

Q: Viridianmethanal

(Passive): Each second an enemy stands in a Viridianmethanal pool and enemies damaged by the Viridianmethanal explosion or Vermillionglutaral blob damage have their armor and magic resistance reduced by 6/7/8/9/10% for 4 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.

(Active): Throws a green vial towards target location which creates a small pool for 4 seconds upon impact and damages enemies for 75/120/165/210/255 (+ 60% AP) magic damage.

  • Flight time: 0.55 seconds

  • This ability is an artillery projectile without collision.

  • But it can be blocked by Wind Wall and *Unbreakable *.

W: Vermillionglutaral

(Active): Rolls a red vial in target direction. Upon hitting an enemy unit, reaching maximum distance or hitting a Viridianmethanal pool it explodes dealing 70/125/180/235/290 (+ 40% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies.

When Vermillionglutaral explodes around a Viridianmethanal pool, the pool disappears and forms 3 untargetable travelling blobs. Each blob leaves a slime path behind for 5 seconds dealing 15/20/25/30/35 (+ 10% AP) magic damage and slows enemies for 25/35/45/55/65% as long as they are in the path.

  • Costs: 60/65/70/75/80 Mana

  • Costs: 80 Mana

  • Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds

  • Range: 600

  • Explosion radius: 450

  • Projectile speed: 800

  • Allied champions who have the shield will see a boost arrow over active pools.

Each time an enemy is damaged or an ally is buffed by one of this mimiced abilities the damage/shield deals 50% less damage than the vial of the same color before the current. Additionally the base damage is reduced by 70%/60%/50%.

  • Vermillionglutaral: 163.1 (+21.4% AP) / 224.7 (+31.0% AP) / 285.4 (+39.3% AP)

  • Ceruleanethanol - Damage: 129.3 (+29.5% AP) / 178.2 (+42.6% AP) / 226.4 (+54.1% AP)

  • Ceruleanethanol - Shield: 115.3 (+21.4% AP) / 158.8 (+31.0% AP) / 201.7 (+39.3% AP)

  • Maximum Total Damage: 435.9 (+87.1% AP) / 600.6 (+120.0% AP) / 762.8 (+152.5% AP)

  • The rotation always starts with Viridianmethanal and ends with Ceruleanethanol.

  • Since this is a channeled ability it can be interrupted by everyting that can interrupt a channel.

Extra: Knock Knock

"Knock, knock! Hey, Sion."

"I don't care what your name is!"

"So, why is there a door in front of your memorial without any doorframe?"

"Drink their blood!"

"Okay...."

"Blood is the wine of victory."

"So, you're an alcoholic then?"

"I feel no pain!"

"Can be usefull when you run against a lamppost when you're drunk."

"I taste blood in the air."

"Do I leak again? Man, I hate when that happens."

"If it breaks, so will you."

"That's true. I have to make sure that these liquids don't run dry."

"The spoils of war."

"Scars would only make it worse."

"I! Am! War!"

"Wait! What?"

"Chaaaaaaaarge!"

"And he's gone." sigh "You just can't talk with this guy properly."

Recommended Items

item 3092 When Quentin fulfills his support role this item would probably be the best choice since he constantly deals damage to the enemies.

item 3070 The large mana pool helps Quentin to spam his abilities without looking at his mana pool too much. Additionally when the pool is empty he can quickly refill is with the vials lying all around.

item 3116 Especially in combination with Ceruleanethanol your allies can quickly catch up with enemies when they're slowed.

item 3504 Since Ceruleanethanol is an AoE Shield with the possibility to receive low cooldowns your team can benefit from this buff very well.

item 3165 The Cooldown Reduction on this item greatly adds up with the flat reduction from his innate. Surely other 20% CDR items are great on him as well.

Skin Ideas

Painter Quentin: The vials will be exchanged for paint buckets and he wears a renaissance era painter outfit.

Main Thoughts

The main reasons I went with the current concept you see are two facts I currently dislike in most supporters. Firstly, most of the supporters have skillshots that can be blocked by minions. This is, of course, an important balancing issue for many abilities and allows much counter-play. However it is really hard for most Marksmen to properly kill the right minions off the hook. Not to mention that the Marksman mostly also have skillshots that they want to use. Thus I decided to go for a offensive supporting role specialized in zoning. Secondly, most of the supporters have huge downtimes. This is something which could be addressed for mages, too. The innate provides enough gameplay for the champion to errade those downtimes. Whenever his abilities are on cooldown, he starts to collect his innate vials to reduce the cooldown of his next spells and to restore his mana pool.

Not even gonna attempt to pronounce any ability other than his ULT. Anyways, I like this champ!

I really like the interactions with his Q, one of my favorite mechanics is to have an ability that effects all other abilities. Way more play and it is more fun XD.

great concept, the lore really threw me off at the end i thought Quentin was the boy.

I think im a little confused by the ult though, does he throw all his abilities multiple times?

The blood flows deep within this one.

Quentin reminds me of those spectral characters bound to a blood curse. The lore was short and consise, but I found out more through the gameplay. The support aspect makes the Spellblade's Thief Edge more useful to champions such as this.

Oh, something popped up. Since the October Champion Contest is up, I have this a habit of creating Champion Interactions between Champion Contestants. What do ya say? Want me to create an interaction with your champion?

Here's my champion:

Fu Xi: The Ancient Strings of Death

Nice job with the gameplay! Thanks, and good luck!
