Lyra, The Sightless Sigil

I know I only recently posted a champion concept, Gerome so another one so soon seems strange for me, however, Lyra has been in the works for quite a while, even before Gerome. Links to my other concepts are below, I'd appreciate it if you could check them out, and give feedback if you feel they need it, but more importantly, I hope you enjoy reading about this champion concept! Aedirex, The Planet Tyrant Vera, The Mountain's Bane XV-328, War's Mechanized Miracle Rozoe & Krexx Kyanitseal(WIP) Shade, The Fallen Pupil

And, of course, Gerome, who I've already mentioned above.

First, a word. Please note, this concept, like many of my other ones, is rather complex, and may warrant a second read if you don't understand parts of her kit. If you have questions, I implore you to ask me down in the comments. Numbers, as usual, are my best estimations of balance by using other champions as reference points, but are by no means set in stone. This concept is very interesting to me, and is likely one of dozens of ways to implement the...

Goals for Lyra My goal when creating Lyra was to solve the issues of top lane being such an island of non-interaction. During that time, I was also wondering how a support champion could survive outside of bot lane, and not just mid lane as an off meta pick. I wanted to design a support-like champion who could survive, and thrive in top lane.

Passive-Resonance: Lyra takes 10% reduced damage from auto attacks, this reduced damage is converted into a health-regenerating aura around Lyra over 5 seconds.

Q-Echoed Melody: Cooldown-(10/8.75/7.5/6.25/5) Range-600 Cost-(30/40/50/60/70 Mana) Lyra fires a note at a targeted enemy, dealing (60/90/120/150/180)(+40% AP) Magic damage to the main target, and (45/65/90/110/135)(+30% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies. If Lyra targets one of her Sigils, only the area damage will be echoed outwards.

W-Sigils: Cooldown-(20/18/16/14/12) Range-1000 from Lyra or other Sigils Cost-(50/50/50/50/50) Mana Lyra lets loose two untargetable sigils into the world. Sigils are randomly placed within 1000 units of Lyra, or another sigil, prioritizing areas without nearby sigils, and may not spawn in either base. Sigils will echo all of Lyra's abilities, extending them across the map, including her passive.

E-Serenade: Cooldown-(50/45/40/35/30) Range-300 Cost-(80/90/110/120/130) Mana Lyra slows all nearby enemies by (20/25/30/35/40)(+1 per 50 AP)% for (.5/1/1.5/2/2.5) seconds. This slow is (30/25/20/15/10%) less effective when echoed through her sigils.

R-Sigil's Sight: Cooldown-(170/140/110) Range-300 Cost-(200/200/200) Mana Lyra commands all nearby sigils to illuminate the map for (5/10/15) seconds, during this time, sigils can be targeted and destroyed in one hit, and Lyra loses half of her sight range during this time. Any groups of sigils that are unconnected to the main web of sigils are destroyed.

Lyra's playstyle is one of survival, the longer she can last, the more utility she gives to her team, and she applies global pressure through her Echoed Melodies. Her passive gives her good sustain in lane, meaning she can survive longer trades more easily, but can still be bursted down, one of her intended weaknesses.

Comment what concerns you have, what ideas you can give me, or what praise you feel this concept merits, but please do so with reason, concept creators cannot improve their work without others telling them how they can improve, or why their idea is bad.

Global damage on a non-ult is hard to balance. The W seems really hard to use due to the fact enemies will just walk away from you sigil's by the time they reach another lane.

The ult feels weak, TF gives complete vision and can teleport.

Champions like this are tricky, Arkadia already mentioned the problem of ballancing champions with global abilities.

But another potential problem that this champion has is immobility. It also suffers from identity crisis syndrome. You're a champion that wants to place sigils all around the map to extend your influence, but doing so requires you to move around the map constantly. This would be fine on a jungler, due to the champion's high cooldowns and low damaging abilities this champion would no doubt fit best as a support.

In the end, you end up with what feels almost like a worse Bard/TF hybrid. You don't have the map mobility of a bard to be able to get to other lanes, and your ult is basically a weaker version of TF's without the teleport. I'd imagine this champion would actually work best as a splitpusher. Paired up with a sivir, you could set up a network of sigils in your own lane and make it extremely difficult (if not impossible) for the enemy laners to CS without dealing with your rediculous amounts of AoE.

Why haven't I mentioned Toplane?

Because, Unlike botlane, which should be heavily warded, Toplane is a lane that is much more vulnerable to jungle camps. It's a long lane. You only have your trinket ward, and occasionally a pink ward to keep youself safe. If you're an immobile champion without any escapes like Lyra, you're just begging for the enemy jungler to camp you. And this isn't even going into her incredibly low damage and high coldowns, which would make trading a nightmare for this champion. As a support, Lyra could sit back and let her ADC cs while letting her sigils apply constant pressure to the enemy laners. Acting almost like a Zyra would, but much safer once you set up your web of sigils.

This would also discourage you from ever ulting, because doing so would potentially destroy your network which would significantly reduce your power until you can set it up again. And as an immobile mage, doing so would be incredibly risky without already having godlike vision up.

Suggested Solutions.

I. Lyra could act a bit like skarner. When there's a Lyra in the game, there are a number of sigils that spawn at static locations around the map. While laning, Lyra can extend her network of sigils out from these (lets call the static sigils spires to help avoid confusion).

This would help fix the problem of not being able to impact other lanes, and would encourage Lyra to extend her pressure around the map.

II. There can only be X amount of sigils within Y distance of one another.

This is to prevent you from stacking a rediculous amount of sigils in a single lane and becoming what is perhaps the most oppressive support ever. This is also to encourage you to set up your network in other lanes, which fits more in line with the champion's intended design.

III. Power up the Ult A Bit.

You don't have to use this exact example, but perhaps, Lyra could chose any of her abilities to echo through the sigils during the ult, and that ability's range, damage, and / or slow will be increased by X amount during the ult period. This could allow Lyra to help set up kills around the map with increased slows and damage. Provided you've set up your sigils properly. You could further improve on this by allowing Lyra to set up her sigils at an increased distance. 2x further from herself of other sigils. This would help make the ult more reliable. And that's it! It's a nice and unique champion concept. But like most new champion concepts, it might need a few tweaks here and there to make the champion more inline with Riot's standards.

Pretty cool overall. 8/10
