Raion is a semi-juggernaut, with heals on his kills, leaps for mobility, the power to augment the defenses of allies while weakening his enemies..

Origin of Name Japanese for lion, if you were curious

Appearance Ascended in lion form, wielding double khopeshes/sickles, what ever you call them (Diana weapon), both bronze. For the debut skin, Galactic

LORE Post-revival of Azir, he began reviving the Shuriman Empire. To help him do so, he enlisted the aid of Nasus and Sivir. A boy whose parents died long ago, Raion believed life was twisted. As he aged, he continually aided those who needed assistance. His mind almost unclouded by emotion, Raion would fight selflessly, honoring the circle of life and defending those who stood no chance against the bandits of Shurima. When he came of age, Raion aided all those who got lost in the desert. Sivir found herself in his company from time to time. She proposed a deal. Defend the Risen Empire at all costs, and achieve almost godly power. Raion accepted, on the condition that Shurima's people held just as much respect as any other. He went through the ritual of Ascension. A hero in the peoples' eyes, he won undisputed support for their cause. As Raion fought the terrors of Shurima's past, he grew a healthy respect for the power of the Ascended. .

#Fight a fight for honor. Not glory. -Raion

KIT Melee Furor (max 100. 20 on unit kill, 5 every basic attack. Lose 10 every second when not in combat for 10 seconds. Speed increases by 10% at Max [MS and AS])

Passive: Heart of the Lion Fear, charm, and taunt durations are reduced, can still be slowed, stunned, and silenced for a smaller reduction. Killing units increases Raion's Health Regen for 3 seconds. Spell damage cancels this affect. 10-14 second cooldown on this part. Reduction : 3 -> 35% Regen : 5 -> 12% Missing Health Over 3 seconds.

Q: Rewards of Conflict.......30 Furor Active : Deals bonus damage on his next basic attack and applies a bleed for 3 seconds and grievous wounds. If he kills the target, then he heals for a % of his missing health and does not trigger his passive. 7-10 second cooldown. Heal : 3/4/5/6/7% missing health Damage boost : 40/55/75/100/130 (+50% Bonus AD) Bleed : 10/20/30/40/50 (+10% AD) per second

W: Leap of Pride.......25 Furor Leap to a target location and deals bonus damage on next damaging ability per unit hit. Each hit unit also reduces the cooldown by 3 seconds. Mid range. The "hit" radius is about the size of the raptor camp (barely). 12-18 second cooldown (MINIMUM of 3 seconds). 2/4/6/8/10% bonus damage per unit

Note : The ability does not deal any damage.

E: Roar of Fury.......45 Furor Deals magic damage in an small area around Raion, decreasing enemy defenses by a small amount and increasing all defenses by half the amount. For a few seconds after the affect ends, his defenses are reduced for half the amount. 10-15 second cooldown. Damage : 40/65/90/115/130 (+75% AP) Defense Reduction/Supplement : 2/4/6/8/10% Duration : 3/3.25/3.5/3.75/4 seconds Raion's Reduction : 4/3.5/3/2.5/2 seconds

R: Courageous Spirit.......35 Furor Free Increases damage out put by x%, increases healing effects (Regen, heals, etc,) by a percentage, and has bonus range (120?) on all abilities and basic attacks for a few seconds. Build 15 furor a second while active. Some long, ult-level cooldown Duration : 5/7.5/10 Damage Boost : 10/20/30% Healing Boost : 25/50/75%

TOP summoner 12 and summoner 14 orsummoner 3 Tele is basic. Ignite goes for a more offensive route, while Exhaust leads for a more passive aggressive play, stacking with your E and giving yourself some CC. item 3153 item 1330 item 3072 The lifesteal and AS helps your sustain. The CDR helps against such long cooldowns. The slow makes up for your lack of CC. item 1300 is a good alternative T2 boot upgrade. Builds your Furor quickly.

JUNGLE summoner 4 or summoner 14, along with summoner 11 Smite is a nobrainer. Flash gives its usual perks, but without mana, your leap actually out-ranges Flash, so the extra damage on Ignite would help your dueling and ganking ability. item 1400 is your friend. Lacking built in CC makes it so. Your WE combo can make it risky for your opponents to stay against a gank, so use it to keep them from leaving before you can make it worth it. item 1401 is a good alternative enchantment.

TIPS

  • Keeping your Furor high increases clear speed in camps.
  • The Passive heal doesn't do much good in the middle of a fight or when your health is high. Don't rely on it.
  • Start your game with wither Q or W. Q is a more offensive route, while starting with W would be ideal for farming and keeping enemies from engaging.
  • W is a risky ability. Don't use it too early or you will be at a disadvantage.
  • You can cast your other abilities while jumping with W. The bonus damage is applied on cast, so using E mid jump will remove the short cast time when you land.
  • The E cooldown can be nearly canceled if you land successfully, but can be very long if you don't.
  • R can be used as either protection on a retreat or on a dive into danger, and it is meant to be.
  • He is a juggernaut. Go ham.

As a fellow CCOS entrant id like to say i just lost

Nevertheless i will still critique this bc why not.

Q: This is really nice except for the fact that if your saying that you heal just by killing minions with a click is just a bit overpowered. noticed how i said just a bit? Its because there are a lot of lane bullies out there that can easily stop your farm (illoai?)

W: are we talking like if i leap straight into a grouped enemy team, a full creep wave, and a ton of illoai tentacles, a ton of yorick ghouls, and a mordekaiser ghost, my cooldown would instantly refresh and id be able to get out of there with another W

E: Nice, i like it. Good for clearing jungle camps or creep waves

R: so all your abilities are on short cooldown and quickcast with this ult?

Design: 10/10 would bang..... jk but i can at least picture the concept.

IN TOP: nice

IN JUNGLE: nice

OTHER COMMENTS: nice

nice

  • Lore is lacking to say the least, but still makes some sense

  • Since only a few characters have a fear, charm or taunt. I would say that you could get away with adding the other types of CC into the Passive, but in doing so I would reduce the time reduction to 30%

  • Q: Passive is similar to Chogath's passive, instead yours heals for a percent and his heals for a flat amount. It also does not really seem to 1. fit the name of the ability and 2. does not really fit in with the lack of lore. If you added in something in the lore like "Every time he killed an oppose he became even stronger" then I think the ability would make sense.

  • W: Name change could be something like "Leap to Victory" or "Leap of Pride" IMO I would go with the second one to keep that whole pride mentality of this character. You do not specify how far he can leap.

  • E: You do not specify how big the radius is. This ability looks like Rengar's and Volibear's abilities combined, also 5 seconds of fear is a long ass time. If you have ever played against a Tryndamere, then you know what I mean.

  • R: Ult looks fine, but the addition of Cooldown Reduction is a bit to much. Mostly because you do not specify cooldown times for his abilities, so adding in another 20% makes me feel like someone could just make him really op by only going CDR. Especially since the cap is raised to 45% with the mastery. So that means that his ult would give him 65% CDR. That is insane, because let's say that his Q had a 7 second cooldown and rank 5. 7 x 65% = 4.55. 7 -- 4.55 = 3.45. You see what I mean.

In last thoughts, I would say to Remove the CDR from ult. Specify radius and range of abilities. Specify cooldowns for abilities, and try to rework the E since it is way to similar to something that is already out there.

The lore doesn't really make sense with Sivir's relationship not being completely developed between her and Azir. At this stage, it doesn't seem like she would up and be "all for Shurima and Ascension". Also, it is highly unlikely that Riot will ever make a resourceless champ again. Raion would need an energy bar or mana.

Hey! Here are my thougts on Raion The Pride of the Sands! ^_^

Lore: This really doesn't tell me much about Raion as a character, it simply tells me his origin story. It doesn't tell me how Raion is as a character, is he noble? Brave? Etc? I don't get his personalty from this lore. It's also a very generic hero story, he wants to do good, he gets power because of that, and becomes a hero. Also why did Raion accept the acension process? Why did Sivir want to make some random spirit in the dessert a god? it just doesn't tell me much to be a good piece of lore.

Passive: Tenacity is a very powerful stat and this is essentially 35% free tenacity actually this doesn't count as tenacity so he buy even more to shrug off CC. Kind of a bit too strong and kind of bland, it's just a stat it doesn't really effect the player's decision making or gameplay.

Q: Give him massive sustain in lane but only in lane. His sustain is non existent in teamfights and duels. Just something I wanted to point out.

Kit: My biggest issue with him is while Raion can function as a champion he's very bland. He's a very generic bruiser/juggernaut, he has all the things a champion wants; mobility, sustain, buffs, debuffs, damage but the way he does it is just.....his kit has little too no decision making in it. It doesn't challenge the player to use his spells smartly he just jumps in and smashes stuff a part.

Look at another prominent juggernaut, Darius. Darius kit hinges on getting 5 stacks of his passive to proc Noxian Might and go utterly ham. To do so he has to focus and stick to a champion to get all his stacks which is honestly difficult against a proper team with slows and proper cc. Darius player have to figure out who is the easiest target to get my stacks off? When do I use my E? When is the proper time I can execute someone and go on an utter rampage?

Raion on the other hand simply jumps in with his W presses E and R and AA/Qs stuff to death. There is no decision making iwth this champ you just press everything and go ham which doesn't create an incredibly fun champion. In some ways he reminds me off Xin Zhao: they both have a reliable gapcloser, they both have a way to buff AAs, they both have stat passive, they both have a buffing ult and they follow thee same gameplay pattern, jump in and go ham.

Hey there buddy! Thanks for the review so regardless - I'm returning the favor!

Passive: Heart of the Lion Immune to fear, charm, and taunt durations are reduced can still be slowed, stunned, and silenced for full value half the reduction 3 -> 35% reduction

While it does not say out straight Tenacity, I'm not sure which direction you're going - does Heart of the Lion reduces the value or the duration? If its simply duration, you might want to replace it with straight out Tenacity. What I meant by Value (if that's where you're going), is that is lowers the Slow reduction but not the duration. Overall, the Passive is a bit bland right now, there are many variations of Tenacity - one of which is Irelia's which increases depending on how much enemy champions are near her. This should open some rooms for more effects if you choose to do so.

Q: Rewards of Conflict.......30 Furor Passive : Heals for a % of missing health upon killing a unit. Active : Deals bonus damage on his next basic attack and applies half the passive heal regardless of whether or not the blow kills a unit. If he kills the unit, then the passive is doubled. The passive is canceled while on cooldown. 7-10 second cooldown. Heal : 3/4/5/6/7% missing health Damage boost : 40/55/75/100/130 (+50% Bonus AD)

The bread and butter of Raion, somewhat - I feel like this is a weaker version of Trundle's King's Tribute, which is a passive effect - although when combined with the active part of Rewards of Conflict, it forms as a straight out healing source. While it doesn't shout to me as something cool, I would suggest to move the passive part of Rewards of Conflict to his Passive - Heart of the Lion, and changing the health-regenerating mechanic, perhaps making it a stacking effect which increases Raion's Health Regeneration for a while, allowing him to fight outside the is his lane. - OR if you do choose to stay with said effects, I would suggest increasing the heal upon killing an enemy champion to make it more rewarding.

W: Leap of Pride.......25 Furor Leap to a target location and deals bonus damage on next damaging ability per unit hit. Each hit unit also reduces the cooldown by 3 seconds. Mid range. The "hit" radius is about the size of the raptor camp (barely). 12-18 second cooldown. 2/4/6/8/10% bonus damage per unit

Although I haven't seen the number values yet, Leap of Pride is your average spam-stomp skill that can easily clear a minion wave, on average part at level 5, you can most likely leap on 4-5 enemy units which drastically reduces the cooldown by 12 to 15 and increases the damage by 40% - 50%. Well, regardless of numbers, Leap of Pride seems a bit bland to me. Perhaps adding a secondary effect here like - "Upon leap, Raion releases a wave of sand that increases in radius base on the number of enemy units struck." something akin to that or if you can come up with other effects, feel free to add it here.

E: Roar of Fury.......45 Furor Deals magic damage in an small area around Raion, decreasing enemy defenses by a small amount and increasing all defenses by half the amount. For 5 seconds after the affect ends, his defenses are reduced for half the amount. 10-15 second cooldown. Damage : 40/65/90/115/130 (+75% AP) Defense Reduction/Supplement : 10/15/20/25/30 Duration : 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds

Honestly, I think its fine - although a bit - "normal" for me, its fine although I would suggest turning the Armor and Magic Resistance increase/decrease into percentage value instead.

R: Courageous Spirit.......35 Furor Increases damage out put by x%, increases armor and magic resistance by a flat amount, and has bonus range (120?) on all abilities and basic attacks for a few seconds. Build 15 furor a second while active. Some long, ult-level cooldown Duration : 5/7.5/10 Damage Boost : 10/20/30% Armor + MR : 20/40/60

While another steroid-inducing ability that makes Raion super tanky, it does go in line with Renekton and Nasus's Ultimate which are steroid-incuding abilities. But like I said, its sort of - bland as well. Also for an ultimate, it would be ideal that Courageous Spirit not to cost any Furor to make it available anytime if needed.

OVERALL Raion seems to be played as a sustained-tank who I would see if played, would panic to kill enemy minions to regenerate himself mid-way into battle. Right now, most of his abilities are bit too normal and doesn't add anything new to our assortment of champion, I would suggest you would add some effects - namely his Heart of the Lion and Leap of Pride. Right now Raion just stands as a "Tank", although there are many ways Tanks can be played like Malphite who can easily breakthrough enemy forces forcing them to scatter or Braum who stands in the frontlines to take the beating, Raion is just straight out tank, he can leap into the enemy territory and just take a beating or if ever - enemy players would most likely just ignore him and kill your allies.

While right now, I feel like Raion is still in the new stage, lots of ideas and visualization can still be placed to open up more opportunist on how Raion can be played. Try to think - what's unique to Raion that can bring something new to the League of Legends if ever he comes to live.

The Boards won't let me update, so here are the summoners:

TOP summoner 12 and summoner 3 or summoner 14 Tele is obvious. Ignite for an offensive lane or exhaust for a teamfight oriented game

JG summoner 14 and summoner 11 Flash range is shorter than your W's, so it is better to take Ignite to increase your dueling and ganking potential.

Hey this is coming from the CCOS

passive: taunt, charms and fear are quite rare so this will be a bit useless unless your agaisnt a specific enemy. missing health regen works fine

Q:feel like there is too much sustain in his kit when you add in the missing health restore from this on top of the health regen from his passive

W:absolutly nothing wrong with this

E: i feel this is too similar to rengar's W in both mechanics and delivery. also the defence reduction/enhancement is way too short to be useful in a trade.

R:looks fine but maybe you could change the resistance boost to a increase to healing since he will be building lifesteal and already has some god in built sustain.

Hope this helps and you can return the favour, mine's called tesla

Immune to fears, charms, and taunts. Too unbalanced. His existence effectively renders slot of champion kits useless like Ahri, Shen, Fiddlesticks, Nocturne etc
