Yliske! God of Blades
Introducing, Yliske, God of Blades
I've thought of Yliske as kind of a back story to certain heroes and how they got their weapons. Master Yi's, Tryndemere's, Yasuo's. And wondered how seemingly more normal people can accomplish the great feats that they do, especially when up against basically gods when in the Rift. So this brings me to Yliske, a god who grants wishes to heroes in the form of a mighty weapon.
Yliske is a Darkin, like Aatrox. One of the 5 remaining of their ancient race. And like Aatrox, he plays a part in the wars of man to further ensure blood shed, but unlike Aatrox who will directly get involved in the bloodshed, Yliske will grant whom he deems worthy a weapon of unsurpassed power. These weapons do not come free though, as the price of the blade is the heroes soul once the war is over, and his weapon back.
So now the fun part, for me. I'm not a huge lore buff and all that so all of the above can be subject to change, but these are the skills that to me, flush Yliske out to be a deadly whirlwind of blade and blooshed.
His skills work like Udyrs, where instead of unleashing abilities they kind of turn on a different attack style, but in Yliske's case, he just pulls out a different sword to use.
Passive - Unleash - Every 6th basic attack unleashes unique burst of power depending on the blade Yliske is wielding at the time. Scales down to 5 at level 6, 4 at level 11, and 3 attacks at level 16
Q) Durandal - When wielding the Durandal, Yliske's attack speed increases significantly as well as giving him a chance to deflect incoming attacks while he himself is attacking, deflect change scaling with attack speed. (IE, 2.5 atk speed = 25% deflection chance.) On Unleash, Master's Flurry, Durandal will temporarily double Yliske's deflection chance. (IE, having 2.5 attack speed normally grants 25% deflection, but is boosted to 50%)
W) Goujian - When wielding Goujian, Yliske is given life steal in the form of a bleed over time, the bleed stacking up to 5 stacks and can be inflicted on multiple enemies. On Unleash, Soul Reap, Goujian's next hit will also inflict a stack of Soul Reap which will drain the enemies Mana
E) Kusanagi - When wielding Kusanagi, Yliske is given huge attack range, that just short of most ADC's, as he is using his sword to send slices of air itself at the enemy. On Unleash, Kusanagi's next attack launches a huge wave of wind damaging all enemies in a cone as well as knocking them back.
R) Sword Breaker - When wielding the Sword Breaker, Yliske's auto attacks will now damage an enemies Attack Damage stat, Dull blade, stacking up to 5 as well. On Unleash, Downfall, Sword Breaker's next attack will apply max stacks of Dull Blade, as well as lowering the enemies movement speed, attack speed, and armor, weakening them tremendously
So this is Yliske's move set. You get a variety of ways to attack an opponent, but lack much of any mobility yourself.
With Durandal and deflecting you can actively win trades against auto-attack based champs, but deflect is useless if you're not actively engaged in battle or against spells
Goujian is a great way to widdle down an enemy, or if against a mana dependent champ, you can take their mana away in just a couple exchanges leaving them helpless.
With Kusanagi you can still farm and poke safely from a distance if you can't win a head up fight with whoever your enemy is. Also with your Unleashed ability, you can safely knock back would be gankers or disengage from who you are in lane with.
And Sword Breaker is a good way to actively lock down an enemy champion to leave them helpless and get the kill.
Timing is key for everything with Yliske though. You have to actively be in combat for Deflect to take place, you have to have your Unleash counter up if you want to knock someone away. But i think he could be an incredibly fun champion.
