Make someone who can spiritually/physically infect an ally, and allow them to control some kind of spirit or something to help out an ally, it could literally be an Abathur clone but instead of a Zerg organism, it could be some spiritual dude. He would gain XP based on whoever he's helping.
+1 for the possession ability. -1 for "that kit is broken".
I dunno if this would really work in a game like LoL.
I mean Abathur in HotS works,because the maps are actually made to offer abathur some hiding spots and they are much smaller than the summoners rift. But in LoL the map is bigger and with less hiding spots(sure there are some bushes and the tower,but they offer little protection compared to HotS forts and hiding spots).
Also there is the fact that Gold is a thing in LoL,which would make the character even more complex than abathur.
I love Abathur. Which is why I know that every time you pick him, you basically start a civil war in the HotS pre-game lobby. haha
I think League players have enough problems with civility, honestly, without introducing a champion as divisive as Abathur. We're talking about a game where people will report you for picking Bard. This place is in no way ready for any version of Abathur.
