[Champion Concept] Sage, the Mourning Spirit

Note:

I originally thought, hey, league doesn't have any sad champion yet! Maybe I should create one! Once I had finished thinking out the champion, however, I facepalmed and immediately thought: DAMNIT! There is a sad Champion! Amumu!

I really liked the champion I had created though so I thought I would share it with the community.

Role: Primary: Assasin Secondary: Mage

Lore: Sage was the happiest child in all of Ionia. Her parents were rich from their adventures, and they brought home everything they could. One day, her parents were going out to adventure the depths of the Shadow Isles - a place one should fear. A week past, and Sage was getting lonely. A month past... A year had past and Sage's parents had not come home yet. Sage had nightmares about voices - voices who would tell her that her parents would never come back. She believed these voices. She was so drowned with sorrow that she drank poison to numb the pain. Soon, the poison had eaten away every last bit of Sage's flesh, and she became nothing more than a soul. She swore that eventually, she would avenge her parents by uncovering every last depth of the Shadow Isles. She needed power. Power that she did not have. She soon attended a Mage's Academy at the age of 7 to learn the dark arts. Whenever she thought of her parents, she became sad, for her parents were excellent mages. Once she had reached the age of twelve, Sage had learned of the League of Legends, and wanted to join. She became one of the Champions for Ionia.

Abilities: Note: I am not really good with creating abilities (especially cooldowns), so bear with me here. Feel free to put suggestions in the comments below.

Passive: Guilt When Sage has been slain, the champions who slain her (including assisters, excluding minions) get temporarily stunned for 1 second.

Q Ability: Hide Cooldown: 30 Seconds Sage gets invisibility for 5 seconds (increase time per upgrade). While invisible, Sage gains increased movement speed (depending on level). Invisibility can be broken if Sage attacks an enemy champion, minion, camp, dragon, or baron.

W Ability: Jealousy Cooldown: 25 Seconds Sage creates a beam of light connecting one enemy champion to herself, stealing mana (not hp) for 3 seconds. The enemy champion can stop this ability early by walking out of range.

E Ability: Misery Cooldown: 10 Seconds Sage creates a little ghost called Misery who attacks from a range. Sage may only have one Misery at a time. If Misery has not died within 5 minutes, Misery slowly decreases health. After 8 minutes since spawning Misery, Misery dies.

Misery: Attack: 45 + (ability power) magic damage Health (base mana pool)

Ult: Sorrow Cooldown: 180 Seconds Sage takes away the ability to use abilities for 2 seconds from the enemy team, and all champions from the enemy team are slowed for 2 seconds. If Sage has maxed her ult, instead of slowing all enemy champions, she stuns them for 1 second along with the 2 seconds of no abilities.

Lines:

Laugh: Sage tries to laugh, but ends up crying

Taunt 1: Sadness takes over everybody... Taunt 2: Why are you crying? The sadness has not started yet.

Dance: Sage twirls but falls, gets up, and repeats.

Joke 1: Ever got lost? Why, you wouldn't be here if you did! (high pitched laughing) Joke 2: Where are your parents? Lost? (high pitched laughing) (I know the jokes aren't really good so suggest more in the comments below)

Possible Skins: Emo Sage Drama Sage (she has one of those masks like in one of those old school plays with a frown)

So that's basically my champion idea. Sadly, Amumu is already in league and he is awesome. If he wasn't I would have so enjoyed Sage being in the game :3 .

Misery is WAY to strong. attack damage scaling needs work. maybe 25 attack + (50%)ap. Health also needs a nerf. Full mana pool is too much. Maybe 50-75% base mana

Ok I have quite a few things to say about this...maybe too many, but you asked for feedback so oh well here I go...

First off, some questions/notes just about the general champion: -Grammar Nazis here: It's spelled "assassin" and I think you mean "a week passed" but that one could go either way. -So she attended a mage's academy at age 7... as a ghost? -If you post an image link in the post it will show up without having to click on it. -Stats are needed for any hero design. Health, mana, attack speed, damage, movement speed, etc. I assume she is ranged, but you don't even tell us that. -Abilities have no scaling. -Abilities have no manacosts. -The trademark of assassins is taking down targets fast. Usually this involves blink/invisibility and some strong burst. Sage has invisibility all right, but no burst by any means. Seems like more of a support primary to me.

In case you don't have it planned out yet, here are some specific ability suggestions/notes: Passive: -This is just straight out weak. Take Zyra, Kog'Maw, or Sion for example, they have some fantastic passives that activate on death, all of which are far stronger than Guilt. I would suggest adding some kind of other effects or making it scale with level. If you want ideas for this, maybe make the stun scale with ap and/or level, add some damage, maybe some effect based on her other abilities, like her Misery ghost stays where she died and gets stronger, or her ult always activates on death regardless of cooldown ,or something. Q: -There is no listed scaling. I would suggest one or all of the following: making the duration scale, something like 4/5/6/7/8 second invisibility, making the cooldown scale, maybe 30/26/22/18/14, making the speed scale, 5% per level seems about right. -You can just say if she attacks haha. You don't need to list all units. -Does that mean she can cast spells while invisible? W: -I like the idea, but does Sage even need mana? A 30 second cd invisibility, (presumably low manacost) a persistent ability that will probably be cast once a minute, and a powerful ult. (presumably high cooldown) What can she even use that mana for? -Suggested mana steal/second: 30/60/90/120/150, give or take a bit. That seems kinda strong, but it's only 450 mana steal at max level. Plus it could be boosted with ap. E: -As with every ability, some more details and scaling would be nice. -Since he lasts so long, it would probably be a bad idea to give him to much damage, so some other benefit might be good, like a slow on attack or high range scaling (like 300-900) -Holy shit does that mean 100% ap to misery ghost damage? -Can the Misery ghost be controlled separately or does he automatically attack enemies near Sage uncontrollably? -8 minutes seems a bit long, but that's just my opinion, it's not a problem or anything. -Does Misery die if Sage dies? R: -"Taking away ability to use abilities" is called silencing. -Again just a personal thing, but I feel like ultimates should be more impactful. There is no damage, no particularly powerful effects. 2 second area silence and slow seems more like a basic ability than an ult. -To work with her W, I think a spammable harrass ability with some annoying effect is good. This is probably a bad suggestion and not what you had in mind, and I hesitate to try to change your design, but here: I think you should make this an area target ability, make it a basic ability, and change one of her basics to her ult. If it were the invisibility, you could add some kind of powerful extra effect. If it were the mana steal, you could make it instant and/or deal damage based on mana drained. If it were the ghost, you could make it stronger or maybe just add more. Misery would be a good ult imo because it could be very high damage and make her more of an assassin like you seemed to have in mind. It would also make he a lot scarier of a champion overall.

Overall, In terms of designing your champion, you need to put some more thought into the details and design. This might help, if you have plenty of free time to read it haha. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=2099323

By the way, it's fine to have multiple sad champions, the design is very different and the abilities are unique. Don't worry about Amumu not being the only sad champ. Besides, based on the lore this seems more like a vengeful ghost than a sad ghost imo.

Haha that ended up a lot longer than I thought. Hope it helps.
