Jade, the Ionian Explorer

Playstyle: AD Fighter Jungler, secondary Assassin, secondary Top Lane

So Ezreal annoys me, and I was thinking about why. His personality is annoying, but also playing him just doesn’t feel like playing an explorer. An explorer should be out exploring the jungle with cool explorer abilities, not just standing there autoing minions and shooting nearly-identical energy beams out of a glove. So here is an explorer champ I came up with. Enjoy!

Lore: From a young age, Jade’s parents taught her the art of healing. They were both doctors, and delighted in spending all day healing patients. Jade, however, was full of energy and didn’t want to just sit there and heal people all day. She would always be tapping her foot or drumming her fingers on the table as her parents taught, staring off into the forest and daydreaming about the wonders that hid in it. She found the stories of the herb-gatherers much more interesting, stories about the many dangers they had to face in the Kumungu jungle just to pick small batches of their healing herbs.

As The Noxus-Ionian War died down and healers weren’t needed as frequently, Jade set off into the jungle. Unlike Ezreal, who just wanders around, Jade borrowed a map from one of the herb gatherers detailing the parts of the jungle they already explored, as well as several useful tools, such as a rope and a hatchet. Jade also took a healing plant, as well as an anesthetic. Her parents use it to put patients to sleep and do surgery on them, but Jade figures it will also be useful for knocking out any wild animals trying to attack her. Fully prepared, Jade sets off to discover something awesome.

Abilities: Passive: Smart Explorers Use a Map Every blank seconds (30?), Jade looks at her map, causing the entirety of Summoner’s Rift (enemy champions, jungle camps, wards, everything!) to be revealed to her for 2-3 seconds. There will be a noise or something to alert the Jade player to when this is happening.

Q: Hatchet Chop Jade slashes forwards with her hatchet in an AOE cone shape, deals physical damage, and slows enemies. I think it would be cool if it could also be used to temporarily cut down bushes/Ivern bushes, since cutting down plants is what a hatchet is for, but maybe that’s too weird of an ability.

W: Healing Draught Jade drinks a mixture of healing herb, causing her to regain some health. It also invigorates her, causing her next three auto attacks to deal extra (maybe magic?) damage.

E: Wall Climbing Jade can use her rope to instantly climb any wall in Summoner’s Rift, even the really thick ones by Baron and Dragon. Jade can recast the spell immediately to jump down and deal physical damage to any enemy/ jungle camp right there, or she can just stand on the wall for up to two seconds. While on the wall, Jade is immune to any spells/damage as she’s too high up!

R: Knock-out Dart Jade shoots a point and click dart at an enemy champion, causing them to fall asleep for a really long time, even longer than Morgana’s stun! The catch? Any attacks on that enemy will cause them to wake up early, so unlike a stun, you aren’t setting up to kill them, just get them out of the fight. There could be ZZZ above that enemy’s head that gradually decrease in size as the champion gets closer to waking up. If you think this is a cool ability, that’s because I got the idea from Ana from Overwatch’s E, or maybe her Shift, I forget which key it’s on.

Appearance: Jade is a twenty-something-year-old Japanese girl who is cheerful but gets impatient easily, kind of like Jinx, but with less shooting/craziness. I’m not sure what she should wear though, since I’m not sure if camouflage explorer outfits have been invented in Ionia yet or not.

Passive is way too strong, should be more like the Marauders map from Harry Potter IMO.

As is, I think you're missing the point of what an "explorer" would be. The kit you have right now isn't about exploring. Seeing as you have her use herbs I'd recommend her being a medical expert searching for new ingredients for medicine. That way you have a character motivation for why they are an explorer and a gameplay hook.

"It's not a map, I swear!"

I think the passive should change, way too strong. I would change it so an area around you (2-3x vision radius) is revealed when using your abilities. Would last 2-3 seconds.

What is the CD on all of the abilities? Does the wall climbing have a CD like Talon's 'Assassin's Path?'

Maybe when using Wall Climbing, an area is revealed like the passive, but only when reaching the top of a wall.
