2 Support Champion Ideas!

Hey, I’ve got two unique support champion ideas! Why are they unique, do you ask? Well, for starters, they both have vision-granting abilities. One champion is a tanky support, with a vision granting and vision denying abilitiy, while the other has the ability to gift a dash to an otherwise immobile adc, a vision granting ability, oh and did I mention she has an assassin-like playstyle, great for people who got autofilled, and she badmouths the adc? Read on to learn more!

Champion 1: Electra, the Sassy Storm Mage

Passive: Thanks a Watts! Every (blank) seconds, Storm Mage’s next ability generates extra static electricity, shocking the nearest ally and increasing their attack speed for (blank) seconds. Storm Mage says a teasing quote as she shocks the adc, because why not? :P

Q: Boom Shakalaka! Basically Nami’s Q, except, instead of shooting a water bubble, a lightning bolt falls down from the sky. The end result is the same though: the enemy takes damage and gets stunned if it hits them. Storm Mage brags a bunch if she stuns the enemy.

W: Dash2Fast This is kind of like Taric’s Dazzle ability, except instead of allowing an ally of Taric to stun as well as him, it allows both Storm Mage and her nearest ally to dash, even if that ally doesn’t have a dash! When cast, Storm Mage and her ally have two seconds to choose a direction in which to dash. If a direction is not chosen, that character loses the dash ability. Storm Mage and her ally don’t have to dash in the same direction, they can go in any direction. The dash can go over walls. This ability is op, so it should have a long cooldown/high mana cost/both.

E: HAVE A SHIELD ! >:( Storm Mage can cast a point-and-click cloud shield on ANY ALLY, BUT NOT HERSELF! When shielding someone, Storm Mage will say a grumpy quote, like “Hey, I wanted that!”

R: Light ‘Em Up! Storm Mage unleashes a giant thunderstorm, and the resulting lightning lights up the entire map, revealing all enemies, wards, dragon, baron, jungle camps, everything! The vision lasts for a few seconds. Enemies will know if Storm Mage ulted, because there will be global thunder boom sounds during the duration of the ult.

Special Interaction! R: The Better Sister? If Storm Mage casts her ult: Light ‘Em Up! , it will NOT reveal anything in Fog Mage’s Fog ult: Fog (although it still reveals the rest of the map as usual). However, Storm Mage’s ult only has about a third of the cooldown time of Fog Mage’s, making her better in that way.

General Stats/Playstyle: Storm Mage is an AP burst mage on the squishier side. She is meant to appeal to assassin/burst mage mains who got autofilled, because most supports are tanks or poke mages. She has a Lee-Sin like combo, the difference is that instead of her doing the whole thing, the adc does half of it. The combo starts when you land Boom Shakalaka! This gives the adc your Thanks A Watts! passive, so you’ll want to hurry up and cast Dash2Fast so your adc can dash forwards land some faster autos in their enemy’s face. You’ll want your adc to HAVE A SHIELD!! around this time, since the stun will be wearing off, then maybe dash forward and exhaust the enemy, or whatevs. Because of Storm Mage’s strong early game combo, she’s best paired with a kill lane adc, like Jhin or Draven. Storm Mage falls off stat-wise later game, partially due to her non-damage ult. Her ult is great for when your team is doing dragon or baron and you want to make sure there’s not enemies lurking nearby to steal it. She is balanced, because she has a high skillcap + mana costs. If you miss too many hard-to-land Boom Shakalaka! ‘s, then you’ll run out of mana without having done any damage. Also, her combo needs to be done quickly to be effective, so if an enemy support with cc (of which there are many) uses cc on the adc to prevent them from attacking while Thanks a Watts! is active, then they miss out on the full combo.

Champion 2: Cirrus, the Peaceful Fog Mage

Passive: Soothing Winds Every (blank) seconds, Fog Mage’s next ability heals the nearest ally for (blank) The heal amount scales with the amount of health items Fog Mage buys.

Q: Scry Fog Mage instantly parts a cloud-shaped section of the fog of war anywhere on the map (about the size of one jungle camp). Vision of this area lasts for a few seconds. Enemies won’t know if they’ve been spotted by scry.

W: Cloud Form Fog Mage can cast cloud form on any ally/herself (a point-and-click spell). When in cloud form, the character is invulnerable, has increased movement speed, and can walk through walls and enemies. The downside to cloud form is that the character can’t use spells or auto attacks until it wears off (like 2-4 sec). Allies and enemies can tell when a character is in cloud form, because there is a cloudy haze surrounding the character.

E: Go Away! Fog Mage shoots a gust of wind in a line-shaped skillshot that knocks a single enemy far away from her and damages them. This ability can go through minions. It also can’t move/damage minions.

R: Fog Fog Mage casts a giant circle of fog the same size as dragon/baron pit (hint hint :) ). The fog is like a giant Akali shroud that hides the location and health bars of all allies inside of it from the enemy team, AS WELL AS THE LOCATION/HEALTHBARS OF OBJECTIVES, SUCH AS DRAGON AND BARON!! Allies and objectives in the fog can still be damaged, but it’s hard to hit what you can’t see, now isn’t it? :) Any vision-granting thing, like a ward, Ashe arrow, or Lux E WILL NOT REVEAL ANYTHING IN THE FOG!! This ability lasts for about the same length as Akali’s shroud. It’s op, so it has a really long cooldown, like Taliyah ult long.

General Stats/Playstyle: Fog Mage is a Tanky, more traditional support whose goal is to make sure the adc doesn’t die. Enemy Blitzcrank grabbed your adc? No problem! Just make the Blitzcrank Go Away! , passively healing your adc with Soothing Winds in the process, then cast Cloud Form on your adc so they can get back to safety. Want to know if Lee Sin is coming down the river? No problem! Just scry it, and heal your adc in the process! Because of the disengage Fog Mage provides, she is best pared with an adc whose laning phase goal is to farm a lot and carry later, such as Jinx or Vayne. However, Fog Mage doesn’t HAVE to use her abilities to disengage. She can also cast Cloud Form on herself, use the speed boost to run behind an enemy, then use Go Away! to knock the enemy back towards her teammates for them to finish off! Oh, and don’t forget about her ultimate! Just plop your R over the dragon pit and you have a free dragon! The reason she is balanced is because she can’t do anything alone. She has no waveclear, and her only spell that does damage is Go Away! The only build that is viable on her is tanky with health (for her passive), which balances out her op ultimate and teamfighting potential.

So those are the champions! Let me know what you like/dislike/want to change. If enough people like this, I will post lore for these champs!

Champion 1:

Innate: pretty good, but it feels a bit lacking, due to it relying on nearby allied champions, making it useless in situations where there are no nearby allies. How about having it boost her movement speed when there's no allies to take the charge?

Q: So it has a brief delay, along with an indicator before lightning strikes?

W: So you can only cast it on an ally, or can you cast it on yourself? Other than that, it looks good!

E: It's handy in teamfights, but I personally feel that it needs a bit of oomph in 1vNs (where you're the 1) where you need something to help juke the enemy team.

R: Seems a bit too much like a supercharged TF Ult. Not that it's bad, I actually think this is a cool concept, but maybe it would work better if the ult worked like this:

  • Reveals everything for 1 second.
  • Cooldown is very short (4-1 seconds).
  • Mana cost is high (100-150 per cast).

This also plays into her "lightning" theme, as lightning doesn't usually light things up for long stretches of time. Rather, they "flicker" in bursts.

I'll get around to reviewing the second champion, but right now I've gotta go do stuff.

Champion 2:

Innate: This is very similar to Alistar's innate.

Q: I've always wanted to use the Clairvoyance summoner spell, but I didn't want to replace my flash/ignite combo. :/

W: Basically moving while in stasis. Though it sounds good, it's usually not very healthy for gameplay.

E: It would work, but the fact that it can't damage enemy minions leaves her extremely vulnerable, especially since this is her only damage-dealer.

R: Riot has made a point to make the Dragon and Baron immune to most vision-obscuring things. Also, this invisibility is too strong, with too many effects.

Though very desciptive I think that you could do a better job on champ 1's name and title, same for champ 2's title instead of writing that the champ says a descriptive quote after every ability, just put in quotations what she would actually say

Munisylc said pretty much everything that needed to be said Other than that the kits are pretty decent, seeing peeps diff takes on support is intereasting

Anyways granting invisibility to allies is still a problem because, not all champs were designed to have stealth, you should try something else like sending fog other to enemies that near sights them.

I was trying to change Fog Mage's abilities around, but I feel like she's just too boring. Here is a final Storm Mage rework with Fog Mage's better abilities. I made a less-boring version of scry, and there's no stealth since you guys mentioned it's too strong.

Storm Mage (Electra?): The Yordle of Targon Mountain

Passive: A Storm is Brewing Every blank seconds, a lightning bolt randomly lights up a small area of the map near Storm Mage (chosen by game AI). For example, if Storm Mage is in the center of bot lane, the lightning could fall anywhere from right next to her , the enemy botlane tower in that direction, or halfway to dragon in that direction. The lightning bolt reveals any enemy champs, wards, and jungle camps near it.

Q: Rain Strom Mage summons a cloud of rain to rain over a large circular area (size of Lux E circle). Enemies/minions in the rain are slowed and take more damage the longer they stay under it.

W: Cloud Form Storm Mage can cast cloud form on herself or an ally. When in cloud form, the character is immune to cc but not damage, gains increased movement speed, and can walk through walls and enemies. The downside is that the character can't deal damage while in cloud form, although they can choose to cancel it early and do damage.

E: Wind Shove Storm Mage uses a click-and-drag gust of wind to move an enemy. Click to choose where the wind starts from, then immediately drag it in a direction to shove the enemy that way. It's like a Taliyah W, but with no delay. Only the enemy closest to where wind shove starts gets blown in the direction and takes lots of damage. Any other enemies/minions in Wind Shove's path stay put and take mild damage.

R: Sith Lightning This was my original ult idea for Storm Mage, but I was worried it was too similar to a Morgana/Varus/Kennen ult. I got the idea from Star Wars Episode 6 where the emperor is shocking Darth Vader with sith lightning. In game, Storm Mage would shoot lightning out of her hands in a large cone shape. Enemies who are hit by it take heavy damage and are stunned, while allies who are hit by it have their attack speed double for a few seconds.

So, yeah. These abilities might make her better for mid than support, idk. I feel like these abilities are less unique, but work better as a kit. Any thoughts?
