A B I L I T I E S
Passive: Dead Magic Minerva summons power from the arcane underworld, bringing dead magic back to life.
- Minerva has 0% Base Mana Regen
- Mana that Minerva spends becomes "Dark Mana"
- "Dark Mana" that Minerva spends becomes Mana
Q: Arcane Spike Minerva summons a spear of magic that rips through the heart of her enemy to strike foes behind.
- Skillshot that casts off target enemy (compare to MF "Q" except a straight line that hits all enemies)
- Applies Grievous Wounds and deals magic damage to primary target, enemies hit by AOE take magic damage
- AOE is a line that continues off the direct path between Minerva and her target
W: Confuddle Minerva counters her enemies abilities before they're even used.
- Target Enemy Champion is marked for up to 2 seconds. Marked target deals reduced damage and Allies are granted Vision of marked target for the duration.
- b a c k f i r e : While marked, using an ability causes the ability to backfire. Marked enemy takes burn damage and the backfired ability is placed on a short cooldown. Minerva gains a "Dark Whisper" stack every time an ability backfires.
E: Harmless Whisper Minerva casts a spell that appears to do absolutely nothing.
- Minerva targets an enemy and channels for a short time, chanting an old spell
- Minerva kills a percent of her Mana, and receives a "Dark Whisper" stack
Ultimate Ability: Realm of the Arcane Underworld Minerva enters into a Realm beyond, and becomes an otherworldly doppelganger. Minerva draws from the power of Dark Mana and summons the remains of dead magic.
- Minerva's abilities change, and cost Dark Mana
- Minerva takes increased damage from all sources in this form and her damaging abilities restore Health
Ultimate Q: Retrace Spike
- Summons a large abyssal spike that impales target and pins them to the ground, deals AOE damage and constitutes as terrain while active. Target takes magical damage and has Grievous Wounds applied.
Ultimate W: Retrace Confuddle
- b a c k f i r e: Spell backfire deals explosive AOE damage and causes Fear, backfired ability placed on short cooldown. Minerva gains a "Dark Whisper" stack every time an ability backfires.
Ultimate E: Retrace Whisper Some magic is made to die, to fizzle and appear to do nothing. Only then can the magic truly manifest itself into something great.. and seek.. retribution..
- t o g g l e: Minerva gains triple Attack Speed and triple Attack Range.
- Basic Attacks cost Dark Mana and ONE "Dark Whisper" stack.
- Basic attacks shoot tiny abyssal meteor-like "souls" at the enemy. Enemy takes massive magic damage and has their Magic Resistance reduced
Ultimate: Retrace the Arcane Minerva returns to the physical realm.

Minerva has no base Mana Regen due to her unique "Dark Mana" ability. Therefore, Minerva gains no benefit from Mana Regen from items. Additionally, "unique" methods of mana restoration do not affect Minerva such as the Mana restoration from biscuits or mana tokens from Ancient Coin.

The "Dark Mana" mechanic might function best if treated like normal mana. "Missing" mana will be rendered a different color to represent "Dark Mana". To simplify the mechanic, spending "Dark Mana" should function as "Restore Mana" because this mechanic already exists and could be easy to work around.

The "Dark Mana" it costs to use a Retraced Ability is twice the Mana it takes to use the ability normally.

"Retrace Confuddle" operates in the exact same way as "Confuddle", along with the added effects noted in the ability.

"Harmless Whisper" requires Minerva to target an enemy for balancing and gameplay reasons. That way Minerva doesn't stand behind turret spamming "E" until reaching level 6.

Minerva's actual Ultimate abilities have no cost. There is no cost to transition between the use of Mana and "Dark Mana". However, Minerva is stasis for roughly half of a second during transformations.

"Realm of the Arcane Underworld" has a 70 second cooldown. Once activated, "Retrace the Arcane" has a 35 second cooldown.
A P P E A R A N C E Minerva is a young woman around the age of 25. She has dark thick curls and dark skin. Her hair is streaked with a couple silvery white locks and she wears tight purplish black leather and a hood like a rogue. Her weapons are magic exploding beads that pop menacingly in the face of her foes while she unleashes her true powers. While tapped into the realm of dead magic, Minerva's otherworldly doppelganger looks like an abyssal shadow of her and her attacks are pure magic; her hair converts to silvery white with black streaks and her spells have a purple shadowy translucence to them.
B A C K G R O U N D Minerva grew up in Noxus, surrounded by great minds whose focus was what came after life. While top minds at Zaun worked on diabolical means to bring back the physical, Minerva traced how magic lives and dies, and worked on a way to bring magic itself back from the grave.
Minerva understood that magic is a living thing, its effect is its life's purpose, and the arcane spirit within it is its soul. Minerva always had an eerie connection to the arcane. It didn't take long for Minerva to transcend her mind to the plane of arcane souls, where dead magic goes before being reincarnated through the Mana process to be harnessed and recycled again and again. Minerva found a way to bypass the Mana process and retrieve spells directly.
In order to harvest and manifest the pure power of arcane souls, Minerva constructed a golem within the Arcane Underworld. Using a majority of the power from the arcane souls, Minerva was able to summon the golem in her place as an abyssal doppelganger. By maintaining a constant link between herself and the golem, Minerva became able to deliver dead magic through the link to be used by her doppelganger.
