Is it time to close down the "Champion Concepts" part of this board?

I don't believe we can legally take direct fan champions. BUT, we have found new designers who have submitted fan champs in the past. We like finding talent in all areas, and it just so happens there is a TON of talent in our community!!!

Basically, unless you're trying to get hired, your detailed stat-by-stat, full lore champion concepts are a waste of time, and do not matter.

So what? It's a fun activity to do. It's a great way to get immersed into the lore of the game and getting into the finer mechanics.

I think you're misunderstanding what they said.

They say "I don't believe" which means that they're not entirely sure if they're able, and then he goes on to say that champion designs created here that were fan made were brought into the light by designers. Which means that it IS possible to actually have a champion created here to actually become a real thing.

And just like Troutking says. It gives the community a sense of being and purpose and immersed into the world. Imagine. All these characters being real. How interesting and amazing Runeterra and the League would be.

If you posted champion concepts and actually expected them to ever get into the game, I've got news for you pal: You're delusional.

Ignoring the quality of whatever you post, Riot's got dozens of designers discarding dozens of their own champion ideas every year, because not every concept can be fleshed out and balanced. There simply isn't enough time. And to think that your concept would be so important and so unique as to invalidate the people Riot hired to do that exact thing...it's delusions of grandeur. It is a lack of understanding of the number of people in the world who are exactly as intelligent, if not moreso, than you.

I never posted champion concepts with any expectation of Riot even taking notice of them. I post concepts as a thought exercise. A shared thought experiment on what could theoretically happen. It's just fanfiction: If an author doesn't read your work and immediately incorporate it into their own story, was it worthless? Of course not. It's expanding yours and other's appreciation of the original work. That's really the only goal.

i think not. even if they dont ever see the light of day i enjoy reading them. Besides as far as legality goes if a concept is strong enough they can acuire the rights to that champ easy enough. Anyone who does this would jump at the chance to see something they made end up in a game with little resistence.

Even if they did care and wanted to directly take the champ design it would be insanely rare that they would pick yours, the purpose of this forum is to vent your champion ideas and get feedback on them. I personally enjoy reading over the ideas and putting in feedback
