[Champion Kit Concept] Renault, the Shadow Thief
Before I start, I'm not attached to the name and don't care much to attach a story/appearance for this - hence it being a kit concept. I'm not particularly great at writing engaging stories in the first place, and most people are really only interested in the kits to begin with.
Renault is intended to be an ad assassin with an unusual method to gain gold and a potentially sneaky kit.
Passive - Pickpocket
Renault does not gain from killing minions, and obtains reduced gold from killing monsters, epic monsters, and champions. Every successful autoattack or damaging ability generates x/y/z gold per hit, depending on if it hits a minion/monster/champion or epic.
I have no idea what an appropriate amount of gold gain per hit would be, but that's a simple number crunching exercise. It should be higher for champions/epics to encourage aggression. Monster amounts should net about equal to or a little less than normal jungler gold gain to prevent some sort of abuse with killing the big creep and resetting the smaller one. Regardless of the number for minions, pushing will end up more rewarded since more autoattacks/abilities = more gold.
Keep in mind that he still needs to kill creatures to gain experience, so there is very much still a requirement to kill things or be around when they die, although it could be entertaining to be level 1 with a 6 item build.
Q - Ransack Range - Melee Cost - 30/35/40/45/50 Cooldown - 7/6.5/6/5.5/5 seconds
Renault ransacks his target, stealing 5/10/15/20/25 gold from them and dealing 20/40/60/80/100 (+0.5 AD) physical damage to them. If the target is disabled, Renault steals double the gold and deals 50/100/150/200/250 (+1.0 AD) instead.
As much sense as it would make, actually stealing gold has no place in this game. Because of this, the gold gained from this skill is not actually taken from anybody, but I couldn't think of a better word to describe it than 'steal' given the context. This attack is an auto reset.
W - Shadow Lash Range - 400 unit long cone, 90 degree angle Cost - 30/45/60/75/90 Cooldown - 10/9/8/7/6 seconds
Renault sharpens his shadow into a razor thin corporeal whip, then lashes an area in front of him for 90/120/150/180/210 (+0.70 AD) physical damage.
The whip sweeps for right to left, it can be dodged with a fast enough flash/dash. There will be a minor channel duration to accomodate the whip motion, but not anything long enough to truly interrupt. Think the brief pause that Talon's Rake has.
E - Shadow Walking/Shadow Strike Range - 600 units Mana Cost - 40/50/60/70/80 Cooldown - 10 seconds, starting after the stealth ends
Renault turns invisible for the next 2/4/6/8/10 seconds and dashes behind target monster or champion. While Renault is invisible, he copies the movements of the target, staying 50 units behind them. When the invisibility ends or the ability is reactivated, Renault performs a Shadow Strike, dealing a critical strike and stunning the target for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.
Targets hit by successive Shadow Strikes are only stunned for 0.5 seconds.
This ability follows dashes/blinks. Imagine you've been eaten by Tahm or ulted by Kalista, that's how the mobility works. Inputting a movement command removes the stealth and cancels the effect.
R - Chasing Shadows Range - Self Cost - 100 mana Cooldown - 90 seconds
For the next 3/5/7 seconds, Renault assume a shadow form, taking 20/30/40% reduced damage and reducing the cooldown on Shadow Walking/Shadow Strike to 1.5 seconds. If Shadow Walking is cancelled by inputting a movement command, the stealth persists for its full duration.
The goal here is mostly to provide teamfight survivability and free his stealth from its tether, so he can escape. The escape is tied to the presence of a champion or monster, though, so it requires some forethought/danger to use.
Feel free to ask questions or give feedback. I did this mostly to pass time and based mostly on the passive, so I hardly expect this to be a pinnacle of balance.
EDIT: Realized I hadn't counted waveclearing in the passive. Woops. Put in damaging abilities as well.
