Astil, The Remnant

Astil is the last of his clan, a small but frolicking community that was reduced to ashes during Noxus's battle with Ionia. He was a child when it happened: he came back from having fun in the woodlands to find nothing but rubble. Going back to his home, he stumbles upon a hidden door where his parents' bed used to lay. What he found inside was an old scythe, etched with runes and calling to him to give it souls. Swearing vengeance against the Noxians, he honed his skills since that day, training to be the soldier that his father was, and wielding his new, mysterious scythe.

Passive - Crave for life: every few seconds, Astil's next auto attack does damage equal to 2% of the target's max hp. In addition, kills and assists enemy champions gives Astil a soul stack. Soul stacks charge Astil's ultimate.

Q - Reap: Astil swing his scythe twice - once in a wide area around him, and once in a smaller cone in front of him. Enemies hit by the 1st strike are slowed by 30% and take (30/40/50/60/70[25%AD]) physical damage. Enemies in the cone are then pulled to Astil, taking (30/40/50/60/70[25%AD]) physical damage. Enemies hit by both take 50% reduced damage from the 2nd strike. Astil gains life equal to (10/15/20/25/30%) of damage to champions hit by reap. Cooldown: 20/19/17/15/14s (4/3/2s with ult active.) Mana cost: 75/80/90/95/100

W - Soulstrike: Astil channels power to his scythe, allowing his next basic attack to deal (175% damage) as true damage to his opponent. Basic attacking lowers Soulstrike's cooldown by 1s. Cooldown: 15/13/11/9/7s (1s with ult active.) Mana cost: 80 at all ranks

E - Vengeful Leap: Astil dashes forward and lashes at all targets in his way, dealing (50/75/100/125/150[30%AD]) physical damage to them and reducing their armor by 20% for 4s. Cooldown: 12s all ranks (2s with ult active) :80/90/100/110/120 mana

R - Awakening: Passive: Astil gains 1% attack speed for each soul stack (half this bonus if Awakening is on cooldown) Active: Astil's scythe floods him with power, dealing (100[20%AD 20%AP]) magic damage to enemies closeby. For the next 7 seconds, Astil's other abilities cost no mana and have drastically lower cooldowns, but deal 50% reduced damage. (CDR will not work while this is active.) Cooldown: 180/150/120s Mana cost: 100 all ranks

Astil is a bruiser type champion who is designed to be hyper-agressive in teamfights. However, with his high cooldowns and mana costs, he's not able to duel effectively. Without his ultimate, Astil's cooldowns and high mana costs make it difficult for him to out-trade other laners, so he'll have to wait his turn.

Skirmishes and teamfights are another story, as Astil's kit thrives on being in the fray, diving in, activating his ultimate, and releasing tons of damage through his now ridiculously short cooldowns. For those 7 seconds, Astil can effectively decimate teams, even if his abilities lose some of their damage from all the flailing around. However, picking the right time to fight and the right time to leave is a big part of playing Astil, because Vengeful leap is his only mobility spell, and during those 7 seconds, his only way out as well as his only way to chase targets who escape his lockdown.

Astil lacks a lot of the perks of an erarly game bruiser, but his passive allows him to get into the game even if he doesnt lane well. Assisting that assassin jungler or mid can eventually lead to Astil becoming a very real and dangerous threat to the enemy team.

I have no idea on what to do as far as base stats or the like, so I'll leave a lot of things open to the professionals. I just feel like having a fighter with a scythe who can relentlessly cut a path through enemies would be a nice touch.

Yes...I know we have Hecarim ...but he's a horse, so...yeeeah....

Hey! Here are my thoughts on your concept! ^_^

Lore: Could be more detailed but not a bad start.

Passive: Not exactly how strong this is. 2% of max hp doesn't sound like a lot. For an example if you hit a 500 hp target you deal 10 extra damage. depends on the cd of it. Also I think it would be cooler if it synergized with your kit more. Like it was something that encouraged Astil to jump into the fray and start hacking everyone a part.

W: This feels a lot like Olaf's e to me and I think it'll behave similar to that ability. Olaf's e gives him massive power over other melee champions. Very few melees can go against Olaf early on because of this ability. However as the game progresses on true damage falls off, champions naturally gain more hp which counteracts your true damage. An ability like this gives huge early game power but falls off as the game goes on.

E: Perhaps make the armor pen scaling cause 20% is a lot for a rank 1 ability. Also with the ult the amount of armor pen gets a little absurd, 20% every 2 seconds?

R: I don't really agree with 50% reduced damage, this is your go ham button you should be doing absurd amounts of damage. Not sure what I think about the passive component. Attack speed is really insignificant at that level so it would take A LOT of stacking for it to have a visual effect on your strength.

Overall: i think you have an interesting concepts but there are a few issues you have to address.

One of the issues is I fail to see how this champion does massive damage in teamfights. Lets say you have have roughly 200 AD. Your q is doing 120 damage on the first strike and 120 on the second but if you get hit by both strikes it reduces by 50% so roughly 180 damage before armor and your current ult halves your q damage so 90 damage for a full swing. Even if you could spam this every 2 seconds that's not crazy amounts of dame compared to Hecarim who with 200 AD will do 320 damage with his q and his is much more spammable. Your w is single target damage and your e is utility. So i kind of fail to see how he can destroy teams.

This is a personal thing but inhibiting mana costs are generally not a fun thing to play around. There are better ways to weaken a champions early game like lower base abilities and such.

Anyway nice concept so far :) I hope this review helped you in some way ! ^_^
