Mechanics question: Meeps with runaans
Bard has been talked down to a lot and lets be honest, if you aren't good with that ultimate, there's good reason. he has only one damaging spell, and his aoe cc makes the targets un-killable where they're locked down, so he doesn't bring much to teamfights...
Or does he?
Obviously, I play crazy things...I didn't take my name for nothing, but a lot of Bard's kit can be upgraded by the use of his meeps. He's one of very few supports I've seen who does really well with a
, and in a game where my adc disconnected, I winged it a bit and built a
and SLAUGHTERED teamfights with the attack speed and added health steal/slow.
Now, AD Bard is nice and all...but to get anywhere with him, you have to be able to constantly collect chimes, so he's not really fit for the true adc role, but I'm seeing him in a new light like I did with thresh at first: this is one of those supports that you can build AD with and do crazy things. In the case of Bard, this is the way I've seen him as most useful, since his ult can screw up as many teamfights as it can win, and failing that he's rather useless. But I haven't gotten the chance to test out one major thought process: If I were to commit myself one more item down the road of an AD support and build a
, will I also get the on hit effect of my meeps to the secondary targets?
The actual question to Riot or anyone who's tried AD Bard, but the main reason I haven't tried it is that I've only played a couple of games in this manner and bard is a mid-late game support as it is...if it ends too early, it's usually a loss. But if you have a balanced team, when you pick up that 25th chime (aoe meeps) and zeke's/bork you bring a lot of utility with them and the active to the fight: much more than simply freezing the fight and letting both teams come off cooldown. If runaan's does what I hope it does with his meeps, I may try making it a meta for bard players. xD
