Celeste, Magic's Penalty(Champion Concept - Demacian Assassin)

Shoutout to The Highest Noon for the initial idea and ChaosReyn for making the first champion concept based on it. This is my take, while trying to stand clear of any similarities towards Reyn's concept ability-wise. Still an anti-mage assassin.

Celeste, Magic's Penalty


STATS HP|600+80 H5|8+0.7 AD|62+3.5 AS|0.635+3.5 AR|24+3.5 MR|32.1+1.25 MS|340 RG|150


Passive: Arcane Hatred After receiving magic damage Celeste gains 10% increased AD and 50 increased attack range for 2 seconds or until she basic attacks a champion. Receiving additional magic damage refreshes the timer and adds another stack. Can stack up to 5 times. Hitting enemies outside 150 units of range causes Celeste to quickly dash toward them before attacking, bonus range is reduced by 80% against non-champions(10 bonus range per stack).

Q: Magic Dampening Strike | CD 9/8.5/8/7.7/7 | Range 200 Celeste Slashes in a direction for 60/95/130/165/200+(50% Bonus AD) Physical Damage, draining 6/7/8/9/10% mana from champions hit and gaining a shield equal to 60/80/100/120/140 + the amount stolen for 3 seconds.

W: Needle Bomb | CD 25/24/23/22/21 | Range 450 | 250/275/300/325/350 radius Celeste throws a bomb that explodes into a thousand needles after 1 second, dealing 30/40/50/60/70+(10% AD) physical damage and coating the floor in needles for 8 seconds. Every 10 units moved by enemies inside deals 3/4/5/6/7+(5% bonus AD) physical damage.

E: Spell Break Dagger | CD 18/17.5/17/16.5/16 | Range 750 Celeste throws an anti-magic dagger through units, dealing 20/35/50/65/80+(30% AD) physical damage, granting 1 stack of Arcane Hatred if it hits a champion, and inflicting Spell Break on the first champion hit for 3/3.25/3.5/3.75/4 seconds. If the target has a shield when hit then the dagger instantly breaks the shield and deals its damage but doesn't apply Spell Break.

Spell Break: The next ability cast fails, causing an explosion at the caster's location that deals 30/40/50/60/70+(15% AD) True Damage in a 200 unit aoe.

R: Magic Toxin | CD 160/130/100 | Range 350 Celeste gains 5 stacks of Arcane Hatred and marks the 1st enemy hit for 5 seconds, slowing them by 20/25/30% for the duration and increasing Celeste's movement by 30% decaying over 5 seconds. Allied basic attacks and single target abilities deal 20/30/40+(8/10/12% target's AP) bonus true damage on the marked target over 3 seconds.

Passive: Celeste gains 30/45/60 increased attack range per Arcane Hatred stack for 550/625/700 max range(230/245/260 non-champion).


Basically, Demacia inflicts a penalty for using magic... Celeste is that penalty.


Good vs mages but weak against non-mana champs and AD champs. Had to lower passive range on minions to add counterplay, and add a passive proc on E to allow help against non AP champs.

Not gonna lie, I think you take this one. :P

I was trying to go somewhere with my mana trail mechanic, but in the end I think mine ended up too much of an all-in bruiser than an all-in assassin.

The two biggest things I'm noting personally is that my version is a little better vs burst mages cause I get my damage reduction straight up...but yours is 100% more effective against poke/DoT mages and can definitely screw up spambots even if they're not mages. Me, you, and Reksee (see Alden - The Inquisitor) have made ourselves a mageseeker squad. xD

I love spell beaker as an alternative to a silence, except for the "deals twice its mana cost in True Damage to the caster." part. That just does not work with the extremely none standard mana costs that the game has.

Case and point one shotting kassadin vs doing nothing to the every manaless champ ever.

Also Magic Dampening Strike should have a healthy minimum shield strength for the same reason.

Would make her far less frustrating to play against a manaless champion.
