[Champion Concept] Yuna, the Dragoness
=-- Biography --=
Power is not always born in the crucible of creation, sometimes people ascend by tragic happenstance. Such is the fate of Yuna, a young daughter of Ionia so beautiful one look could inspire the deepest infatuation. Yet beneath her fair exterior lies a heart burdened with insecurity and a longing for something greater. While her peers explored the torrent of emotions that came with adolescence Yuna would instead be found offering a helping hand to those in need. For Yuna, the great joy of serving others gave her simple life a greater purpose and the smiles she put on others faces would make her feel like she was more than just her looks, at-least for a time. She lived a mostly tranquil life alongside her parents and brother Silas in the small Navori province along the Ionian border. Yuna did not live extravagantly, despite her many suitors offering her a better life, her most prized possessions are two exquisite fans gifted to her by a woman in the village after a long day of sowing the fields.
As the Noxian army began their invasion of southern Ionia, her village would be the first to fall and her family among those executed. But Yuna’s beauty would grab the attention of many. Be it the fairness of her features or the golden of her hair, she became the object of their desire. One thing is known to all about noxians, and its that they get what they desire. Forced to flee Yuna found herself running deep into the lush magical forests of Ionia, and so to did her hunters, beginning a game of cat and mouse. There is a saying that many know, “Ionia protects its children.” and as Yuna ran from the Noxian soldiers she prayed, hoping someone would hear her, hoping someone would save her. As she neared a clearing in the forest noxian soldiers caught sight of their trophy, but with fans in hand, rage filling her heart, Yuna stood her ground. No longer would she run in fear. Determination radiated off her like light from the sun, and as the first soldier charged toward her the whispers of Ionia would fill her ears, for Ionia does protect her children.
The sky blackened above them as screeching filled the air, but the noxian soldiers showed no sign of retreat. Yuna raised her fans, ready to fight, but the soldier did not make it ten feet to her for the wind would push him away. Yuna glided around the field held up by the currents of the wind, for she knew what would be coming. Tired of her games the soldiers began to surround her but they wouldn’t get the chance as Yuna had bought herself enough time. As they seized upon her Alexstra, Dragon of the Wind, descended upon them.
Yuna ran, eventually finding herself standing before a giant cave littered with glimmering teal scales, this is where she would wait. Fate can be cruel, however, and as she slipped inside so to would a Noxian assassin who escaped Alexstra’s jaws. Hearing the footsteps behind her Yuna broke out into a sprint, running deeper into the cave, luminous eggs lighting the dark stone walls. Pressing forward she eventually came into a large cavern, a faint breeze surrounding an altar in the center. The Noxian soldier not far behind would slide his blade into her back, Yuna’s scream echoing off the stone. The breeze grew into a gale, and as Yuna’s body fall onto the altar Wyrms of blues and teals would hatch from their eggs, chasing the Noxian soldier that would be their first meal.
But as Yuna’s soul stay clinging to her dead body Alexstra could feel the kindness of her spirit and the insecurities in her heart. She placed the body in a spirit egg where from Yuna’s wounds would grow glimmering scales that cover most of her pale skin, horns of teal shimmered from her golden hair, and her azure eyes sharpened to those of a serpent. When Yuna awakened Alexstra was no longer with her but a part of her, memories of the dragon’s life rushing to her mind. As she walked forward from the cavern the wyrms would follow and with them so to the wind.
When Yuna was born, she was a human. Tragedy would turn her into a goddess. But a journey to avenge those she loved her would make her a savior. Wielding her fans Yuna found she had far more control over the wind than just simple breezes, wiping out any Noxian soldier who dared to cross her path as she returned home. The Noxian army may have been driven back, but the war was far from over. Unable to find Silas’ body among the departed Yuna had a purpose. She would find her brother, if its the last thing she did, and no noxian would stand in her way. Fate had turned a kind-hearted girl into a goddess of rage, one Noxians would refer to as “the Dragoness” a nickname she embraced, and one which they would come to dread.

=-- Tips --=
Blessed with the powers of a goddess the Dragoness excels at sieging the enemy team, harassing enemy champions from afar and zoning them into positions of disadvantage. As an artillery mage, Yuna can harass opponents from a great distance with considerable damage, bypassing the heavily protected front line to eliminate her squishy targets. In lane she has great mana sustain thanks to Slipstream Wyrm but very limited mobility and defense. A good Yuna player can strike with no fear of retaliation, but knowing when to fight and when to stand down will be key to mastering this Dragon of the Wind!
Full Combo: W (wind up) > R > Q > W (stun) > E > Q > Q... Teamfight: W (wind up) > R > E > W (stun) > Q > Q...
Playing as Yuna
-
Storm Surge allows Yuna to chase down enemy champions with increased movement speed while removing her casting-time for a flaw-less transition.
-
Yuna excels at zoning enemy champions away from their minions and should be casting Dragon's Gale almost every time its off cool-down. Building a lot of mana really extends the zoning pressure by giving Yuna access to a larger pool
Playing against Yuna
-
What Yuna has in power and range she lacks in mobility and defense, champions with strong gap-closers have an advantage over this goddess.
-
Getting early Boots when playing against Yuna will help you avoid many of her spells as all of them have some type of delay.
