Name: Faerlina, the High Seraph Type: Mage, Harass, Control

=- Biography -=

WORK IN PROGRESS DUE TO RECENT KAYLE/MORGANA DEVELOPEMENTS (Old Lore Below)

Power is not always born in the crucible of creation, sometimes people are ascended through a tragic happenstance. The youngest of Ionian Elders, benevolence and equality were to be the distinctions of Faerlina’s leadership and wisdom would she have been left to shape the world. Fate however, had a different plan for the young elder as an ancient race caught in an endless conflict would need her guidance far more than the citizens of Ionia.

On a nightly stroll through the Gardens of Tranquility Faerlina found herself face to face with a Noxian assassin. Terrified yet unyielding Faerlina stood her ground, a faint glow enveloping her like a mist. As the steel blade reflected in her eyes and the last breath of life left her lips, this gentle glow began to brighten. The Angels are an immortal and graceful race, yet should one perish their light is gifted to one worthy of such a blessing. With her lifeless body lying cold on the ground she saw not her own life, but the conflict of an ancient world caught in battle with herself at its crossroads. Faerlina embraced the warmth of the light and ascended to High Heaven.

History has a strange way of repeating itself; and as Faerlina awoke to her new world she was no ordinary Angel, but a Seraph of the highest order, a leader of the angelic society. Under Kayle’s mentorship she quickly became a force to be reckoned with and her Ionian ideals would carve a new path in the endless war. Light can heal, but it can also burn, and in a world where conflict between Light and Dark still rages on; Faerlina, the High Seraph shines the brightest light of all, passing the final judgement on those who dare to upset the balance of justice.

“Her judgement is final. Her light, absolute.” - Kayle on Faerlina, the High Seraph

=- Tips -= The High Seraph passes the final judgement, and Faerlina’s spells reflect it. As a control mage Faerlina excels at splitting enemy teams apart or walling off escape routes. In dueling situations, Veil of Faith makes Faerlina deceptively protected while providing bonus damage to her spells. However, with all that power comes a lack of mobility. Played correctly Faerlina can build up stacks from afar to rain judgement down on her enemies using Virtuous Radiance with little fear of retaliation.

Playing as Faerlina

  • Seraphic Bolt is a low cool-down low cost ability that makes it easier to land with each stack of consecration applied. Use it to zone enemies into “Ethereal Rift” for guaranteed damage and consecration stacks.
  • Virtuous Radiance shines when large stacks of consecration have been built up, however these stacks do not last long. Prioritize dealing damage over stack potential in light of losing already ramped up damage
  • Veil of Faith gives Faerlina both bonus protection and damage, hitting multiple enemies in prolonged fights provides the most out of these bonuses.

Playing Against Faerlina

  • Faerlina has powerful single target damage, but can easily zone an area. Attack from multiple locations to spread out her abilities and leave her vulnerable to counter attack.
  • Getting an early pair of boots will provide you with much needed movement speed to dodge Faerlina’s initial barrage of Seraphic Bolts.
  • While lacking mobility, Veil of Faith makes Faerlina deceptively powerful in skirmishes. Be wary of the bonus protections when deciding to all-in her.

A few concerns....

  1. Angels are immortal, yet she died? She is an angel? Im confused with the commentary there.

  2. Even Karthus has a longer cooldown i do believe for his Q, and it doesnt have the range or cc that your proposed Q does.

  3. Her passive sounds like a rework of Kayles passive. I do like the concept, it is nice, but also it sounds more like dark magic (stealing other peoples power and using it for your own). Lights concept over many many years is "strip them of everything so they have to face the light" in cases like this, similar to Kayles just reducing the armor and magic resist.

  4. Those slow stacks have no limit. You can literally from 700 units away (out of anyones auto range, and out of most ability ranges....) just spam your Q over and over and have them perma trapped by 100% slow reduction. Even at level 1. Until she runs out of mana, which wont come until after the person is dead.

I personally like it. I think more angels to add to the storyline would be great.

P.S. How did you get the pic to show up and not just be a link?

Main problem I see is with the Q, 1 second cd with 15% slow is pretty harsh, regardless of any further slows, you know how busted Olaf is right? With his lvl 1 axe throwing? Karthus Q has a delay that allows you to escape before getting hit, but this ability does not and additionally slows you. If it just stopped at the first UNIT hit, then this wouldn't be a problem. But 480 starting mana and 20 mana cost Q means she can spam it for 25(mana regen added) seconds straight, dealing a potential 1,1125+(625% AP) damage before emptying her mana pool, because 900 range is very generous with a slow applied.

I'd just make it a single hit skill shot, so it doesn't pass through units. Especially since she can burst with E at lvl 2 which deals roughly the same amount of damage as Q, so it'd be like 2,1145+(1,390% AP), even with only 5 stacks this deals 495+(290% Ability Power). Don't even get me started on a 45% CDR build xD
