New Champ Concept, a Living Battery
There was a period of 3 months some time ago where my laptop broke and I couldn't play League of Legends. However, I was fond enough of the game that I decided to make some champion concepts to pass the time. 4 concepts in particular were well received by other League players, so I decided I might as well upload them to see if others liked the ideas. Riot, if you in any way like the ideas, feel free to use them in whatever fashion you wish. I would require no credit nor compensation in any fashion.
Out of all my concepts this one was received the best by everyone who I introduced to it. Name: Elizabeth (taking suggestions for this) Primary Role: Marksman Secondary Role: Mage Faction: Zaun-reformer Birthplace: Zaun
Appearance Elizabeth has short black hair hanging down a little past her neck in length, her bangs hang to either side of her face and are wrapped with small pieces of string to keep them from obscuring her vision. Her face is pale. She stands at a moderate height with a slim figure. She wears a nice leather jacket with a collar but it opens towards the bottom to reveal her midriff. She wears a trendy orange skirt that falls down past mid-thigh in length. She also has leggings on underneath said skirt. Her boots are those frilled (I think moccasin) boots with the strings hanging from the top.
Abilities
Innate: Living Battery After using an ability Elizabeth's total mana regen per 5 seconds will increase by 16% for 10 seconds, this can stack 3 times. Using an ability refreshes the duration, if 10 seconds pass without her using an ability all stacks are lost.
Q: Electric Arc Elizabeth fires a bolt of electricity forward in a linear skillshot at the enemy, damaging and marking them for 2 seconds if it connects. Auto-attacking the marked enemy consumes the mark and causes the bolt to leap to another enemy within 350 range, which then marks and damages the enemy the bolt leaped to; allowing the process to repeat. Each bounce reduces the damage dealt by 10%. Magical Damage: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 60% AP)(+ 50% bonus AD) Damage is dealt by the bolt striking the target, not consuming the mark Cooldown: 15 / 13 / 11 / 9 / 7 seconds Skillshot Range: 850 Cost: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 Mana It hits up to a maximum of 5 targets including the initial skillshot. If another enemy isn't within range for the bolt to jump to the bolt will strike the same target again. The bolt will jump to the nearest enemy but enemy champions will receive priority over summoned creatures, who then receive priority over regular creeps. This attack can bounce back to previously struck targets.
W: Never Ending Energy Passive: Dealing damage with any of Elizabeth's abilities increases her attack speed. This effect lasts for 5 seconds and stacks up to 3 times. Active: Only usable at 3 stacks, Elizabeth's next auto-attack on an enemy will cause a small burst of energy, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies. This will not consume any passive stacks. This attack will also 'charge' the targeted enemy for 2 seconds, ensuring that the next Q bounce will go to the 'charged' target. Passive Attack Speed buff per stack: 5% / 7% / 9% / 11% / 13% Magical Damage: 40 / 85 / 130 / 175 / 220 (+75% AP) AoE radius: 150 Active Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds Cost: 50 Mana Her Q will grant a stack every time she makes the bolt deal damage, meaning the skillshot plus moving it once would give her two stacks and will grant another stack for each time it bounces. Her E does not grant stacks for this ability.
E: Blitz Activation: Elizabeth dashes to target location and then auto-attacks the nearest target in AA range, with priority given to marked targets, then enemy champions, then minions. Hitting a target marked by her Q will also stun them and bounce the mark as normal. Dash range: 425 Stun duration: 0.50 / 0.75 / 1.00 / 1.25 / 1.50 seconds Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 seconds Cost: 75 Mana
R: Human Railgun Elizabeth fires a shard of metal in a pass-through skillshot after a 0.5 second cast-time, like Lux and Ezreal ult, she also has a blue targeting line appear during this time. Being moved by enemy abilities will cause her to fire immediately from her location before being moved. Hitting an enemy marked by her Q will allow marks to be applied to all enemy units within 350 radius of the struck unit- dealing damage to all of them, this consumes the original mark on the struck target. The applied marks function the same as normal Q marks. Casting animation: Suspends piece of metal between her outstretched hands in an electrical bubble before firing it forwards, she will face the direction she will fire it. There is an interaction with her taunt to use a separate animation, see Easter Egg at bottom. Magic Damage: 300 / 400 / 500 (+70% AP) Mark damage = current rank of Q Cooldown: 90 / 80 / 70 seconds Projectile speed: 2700 Range: 5000 Width of hitbox: 250 units Cost: 100 Mana
I was really happy with the lore I wrote for her. Unfortunately, every name I've devised for her is actually quite similar to a champ name already in LoL. Currently I'm using Elizabeth but that's far too close to Elise. Any suggestions would be welcome- Suggestions for name: Elizabeth Mary (Mary Sue reference)
Lore In the city of Zaun, scientific growth is often placed ahead of personal safety, and even further ahead of the safety of others. Many an unfortunate soul has wandered too close to an experiment and suffered the consequences- death in most circumstances, crippling disabilities in others, and then the odd case of blindness or extra limbs. But, on one occasion, not only did the accidental passerby survive, she thrived. Elizabeth was her name. She had run away from home long ago, adamant that her family didn't love her since they had given birth to another child when there wasn't enough food for the 3 of them already. She resolved to find some way of living without her family. Like many Zaun children, she knew of the scientists that experimented throughout the city- but she overcame her fear in order to observe. She watched the learned men and women of Zaun, and, while she didn't understand their science, she could tell others what she saw. Some experiments were beneficial to others, but many were attempts at making stronger and greater weapons. She overcame her revulsion, but each time she grew sadder inside. Soon she managed to make a decent living, spying on scientists for their rivals. It wasn't only a matter of stealth, it was choosing to defy the inherent risks of being that close to the testing when you didn't understand the forces involved. Her life was not easy, but she had a roof over her head and enough food to eat, many couldn't say the same. Together with some other misfit children, she created a small group of individuals that observed experiments and sold the info; occasionally one of their number would die, and they would grieve at the loss of a member and a friend. Elizabeth always assumed the person had been too stupid, or not quick enough or strong enough to survive; or perhaps they were just unlucky- either way she thought nothing would ever catch up to her. But in the back of her mind a thought took root one day, and she couldn't quite get it to leave her head, what would happen when her luck inevitably ran out?
She found out on the day she was commissioned to spy upon Viktor. It wasn't the first time she had observed Viktor, but the last time she had done so had been before he reinvented his body, when he had been working on some sort of steam golem. She worried that in his new form he would see and catch her. As it turned out, Viktor not only didn't expect her- he didn't care that she was there at all. Informed of the location of Viktor's laboratory, Elizabeth crept close to the area where odd looking machinery was set up. Wandering closer and closer, she took notes of the strange pillar in the center and the electricity tracing patterns over it. Suddenly, a force-field spread up over the area. Elizabeth attempted to run but was unable to move, stunned by the field. Looking up, she saw Viktor in his mechanical form gazing over the scene.
Electricity began arcing from the central pillar to the others, and Elizabeth. She fell, electrical currents bouncing through her body. She lay there, not moving and not breathing. Viktor stepped over her still body and inspected his pillar, cursing at it before walking away. A final, smaller bolt still remained in the machine, arcing to hit Elizabeth in one last electric shock. Elizabeth gasped, air rushing into her lungs. Amazingly, she had suffered no real damage, apart from slightly singed hair and clothing, she had pulled through relatively unscathed- but not unchanged. A friend had been keeping watch from a distance, if only to tell the group if she had died or not. He ran forward and hugged Elizabeth in relief as she emerged from Victor's laboratory. Relief turned to literal shock as the boy was hurled backwards by an electrical bolt. Elizabeth hurriedly summoned help for the younger boy. She watched in sorrow as his un-moving body was carried away.
A few days later she decided she had to know what happened, her clients had been baffled and unhelpful to her- and her friends would no longer come near her, fearful of her new power. She walked up to Viktor's lab one day and asked him what had she had become. Viktor told her, she had been made into a living battery, naturally producing energy. Elizabeth asked him if there was a way to remove it. Viktor laughed and beckoned his nearby machines to life, of course he could remove it from her, she was just unlikely to live through the experience.
Keeping the calm demeanor that had seen her through the years of spying on science experiments, Elizabeth willingly tapped into her power for the first time, firing bolts of electricity into the machines until they were in pieces. Viktor himself entered the fray, tossing his force-field device at her. Elizabeth hurled herself away from the trap, although she felt her powers draining from the sustained use. Viktor stood in her way, daring her to test herself against his triumph over evolution. Elizabeth crouched low and concentrated, harder than she had ever concentrated in her life, tapping into more and more energy. She picked up a small piece of metal and held it in the palm of her hand. She looked at Viktor and felt all of the fear, all the wrong that was in Zaun, she visualized all of the faces of those she knew were afraid and hurting, and channeled it into that piece of metal. She stood tall and faced Viktor, and fired the shard forth with all of the energy within her. The blast was tremendous, knocking Viktor aside and blasting a hole through his reinforced lab wall and several buildings beyond it. Elizabeth slumped over briefly before she felt her energy returning again. Viktor stirred from where he lay, cursing her. Elizabeth noticed a crowd gathering, pointing at her, behind them were Zaun scientists, their faces masks of rage. She fled Zaun, fearful of Viktor's retribution and the anger of the scientists whose work she accidentally destroyed. But the looks of hope she had seen in faces of those who watched her stayed with her. As she traveled, she came across news of the League of Legends. Upon learning of the relative safety of the League, and of the fields of battle where she could train to use her abilities, she eagerly made her way to the Institute of War. She promised herself that she would learn to harness her power, and that she would work towards making Zaun a better place for its citizens.
"I'm sorry. I didn't notice or care about the others who might be suffering- but now I do; and I'm going to help them, all of them." -Elizabeth
Quotes Champion selection- "I'll fight for a better world"
Moving- "I'm on my way" "Going forwards" "I never get tired anymore" "All of this power, it's strange"
Attacking- "Shocking isn't it?" "Sorry about that" "Feeling tired yet?" "Free energy boost, right here!" (While attacking charged targets) "Lightning bolt, lightning bolt, lightning bolt!
Joke- Electricity arcs between her outstretched hands "Anyone need a jump-start?"
Taunt- Flips a coin in the air, after a second it will fall back to Elizabeth, Elizabeth pretends to shoot it on its way down "Stay out of my way, or you can taste my power"
Dance- I really don't have a clue about dance functions
When near an ally with a negative K/D- "Don't give up, just try once more!"
Spotting enemy Viktor in lane- "Zaun is wrong, inside and out, I'm going to change it- starting with beating you!"
Spotting enemy Twitch in lane- (sad) "You're a victim too"
Recall- She starts floating as electricity circles her faster and faster until she flashes upwards as a lightning bolt. If she recalls near any airborne champion (Xerath, Syndra) she remarks that hovering all the time takes the fun out of walking and running.
Death- A shock-wave of electricity bursts out of her and she collapses
Animation for revival/GA at Summoner fountain She appears lying on the ground before electricity zaps her upright
SPECIAL HIDDEN EASTER EGG- If you taunt and activate your ultimate while the coin is descending she will shoot the coin as it falls, similar to Misaka Mikoto from 'A Certain Scientific Railgun'. The drawback is this will leave you defenseless for a bit while you wait for the coin to come back down. Ideally this would give you about 2-3 seconds to activate your ultimate after you taunt, you obviously don't want to do this in the middle of a fight; although that would bring bragging rights I suppose.
Skin Ideas Magic Painter Elizabeth
Instead of her typical appearance, Elizabeth now has a painting beret on her head and a striped shirt covered by an apron- which is splattered in red and blue paint, she also has dark pants and dark shoes. She is holding a paintbrush in one hand and a paint pallet in the other.
New commands: -Taunt "Let me paint you in a better light" -Joke "Who designed you? X?" (X = name of designer)
New animations: -Attacking animation is now her tossing bursts of paint towards the enemy, blue for regular attacks and red for critical hits. -Her skills now incorporate paint instead of electricity: paint splashes between opponents for Q, her W is a large paint explosion for marked enemies, her E has her toss the paint pallet at an enemy to stun them and her ultimate animation will now incorporate a giant stream of shifting colors, with the cast-time showing her mixing the colors on her pallet.
Recall change -Recall animation has her set up an easel and start painting, if a champion/minion/monster is in front of her a small cartoony picture of them could appear.
