@Riot Concept: Melee Botlane Update

Hello, and thank you for coming to read my off meta update proposal!

Having a melee champion in the bot lane is an off meta, and yes, fun, thing to do when you have proper mastery over your melee champion of choice. Mind you, this does not make it easy, as a melee must close the gap of a ranged champion to get your own damage off.

Here are champions that seem to fit into being successful melee bot laners:

-Yasuo. He blocks ranged attacks, he has a dash, operates with crits, and has cc. He fits the bill rather nicely to counter ranged champions, immobilize them, close a gap, and destroy them with the proper support.

-Mordekaiser. He was reworked to be in the bot lane. His Q is a lovely nuke, his w heals you and your support while able to be used to get your support closer to you and vice versa with the MS bonus on w.

-Aatrox. I have played ADC-TROX a handful of times and do surprisingly well when I do. He has a gap closer, virtually no resource, AD, AS, and AA range steriods, and modest sustain.

-Tyndamere. Yet another champion who operates with crit. He has a gapcloser and can utilize Lifesteal items nicely.

-Yi. He has a form of sustain, no cc, MS steriods, and a double strike passive.

-Olaf. While unlike the previous champions listed, Olaf isn't known as a melee carry. But I have played bot lane carry Olaf, and it is brutal. He has a slow, amazing Lifesteal, and a fight till you die passive. Olaf can carry and decimate towers.

So what do these champions have in common? They are melee CARRIES. My proposal is this: Rather than strictly having ranged as a bot champ, give the ability to choose between ranged OR a melee carry.

Item wise, there can be new melee carry items that only melees can use.

While we're at it, there can be new lore added and a legendary skin for each these melee champs.

Let's let melee carries sine and do just that: be melee CARRIES.

Melee Carries that aren't bruisers, assassins, or Yasuo. On it.

Passive: After casting an ability, the next auto attack has 400-475 increased range (525-600) and has deals 25% more damage if it crits (independent of the crit and works with on hit effects).

Q: X marks an enemy within 800 units for 3 seconds. Landing both a ranged and melee attack on the target deals 90/150/210/270/330 +100% Bonus AD physical damage. While marked, critical strikes slow the target by 30/35/40/45/50% which decays over 1.5 seconds. Has a 30/27/24/21/18 seconds, reduced by 10 seconds if the mark explodes. (Decrease is reduced by cooldown reduction).

W: X gains 10/15/20/25/30% movement speed and 30/35/40/45/50% attack speed for 3 seconds. Has a 12 second cooldown, reduced by 1 second on crit.

E: Can only be cast while X's passive is ready. X stops and channels for .5 seconds before firing in the target direction. Enemies hit take damage as if they had been auto'd except the attack is always a crit. Projectile is 150 units in diameter and travels out to 800 units within 1 second. This uses the passive charge and does not replenish it. Has a 20 second cooldown, reduced by 2 seconds on crit.

R: X double his crit chance for 8 seconds (minimum increase of 25%). Critical strikes during this time do 40/60/80 +25%AP magic damage.
