We can make Helmet Bro a reality
All we need to do is to make a balanced version of him. Riot said that he's too overpowered in the fan concept and that's why they can't add him. But! If LoL community unites and together makes an absolutely balanced version of him, we can bring him to life! A few interesting points on Helmet Bro's (not final name, codename for now) character. His recent appearances in splash arts kind of make him the punching bag of League, so this should definitely be preserved in his theme and kit. His utter normalness is another defining factor, as is his ability to lose over and over without losing the courage to challenge any creature. Is his just arrogant and forgetful? Is he an experienced survivor? Where does he hail from? Why does he fight? Consider these as you design the character. I've got a few ideas for abilities (not necessarily for use together) : When Helmet Bro dies he gains experience over time. Deaths, kills and assists all grant a stack of "Just a Name", granting AD and Armor per stack.
More thematic than anything, but I'm convinced that the Helmet Bro we see is never the same one twice. Every time he respawns, his model is slightly different, for example a ponytail peeking out from under the helmet, or a change in skin tone. Helmet Bro briefly turns invulnerable and dashes a short distance in target direction.
A reactionary defense ability. The dash is nowhere near long enough to pass walls, but allows Helmet Bro to dodge threatening skillshots in high intensity situations. Long cooldown. Helmet Bro passively gains movement speed towards enemy champions if he has not attacked within the past 8 seconds. Upon activation, Helmet Bro gains a huge movement speed boost and empowers his next basic attack to deal true damage.
Encourages striking first and boldly going where no teammate really wants to go. Helmet Bro is a frontliner, so he should be able to keep up with the front line. True damage supports charging in no matter who he is up against. Helmet Bro shakes off his assailants, briefly stunning and knocking back all surrounding enemies in a short radius. Helmet Bro gains a shield based on how many units were knocked back.
Knockback distance and duration are both rather short. This gives Helmet Bro some peel and extra tankiness plus extra incentive to be in the middle of a fight. Allows him to interrupt channels and disrupt carries. Helmet Bro spreads out his arms and charges forward after a brief delay, knocking back and damaging all enemies he collides with.
His standard peeling ability. Forces enemy carries away from his backline. Not a very long charge, but wider than his model. Helmet Bro takes off his helmet and places it on the field, creating a zone of peace in a large radius around him. The radius of this area increases based on how many champions are dead at the moment of casting. All champions within the field are silenced and blinded until the field dissipates. All enemy champions are also slowed. The zone can last for up to 3 seconds, but Helmet Bro can dissipate it after 1 second.
This is definitely the ability I had the most fun with. With all the dead Helmet Bros out there, this particular Helmet Bro must understand the feeling of loss. I think it's a nice touch to his brave, humble, overwhelmingly normal yet still beloved character.
