Important - Concerning Vlad upcoming rework: Vlad should be a BLOOD mage, not a red energy mage

I know that reworks usually change the skills visuals dramatically, it happened to Mordekaiser who lost all his METAL and became the souls meister, that's why I'm just making sure that Riot knows how important it is for Vlad players to keep his identity as a character who actually uses a certain type of projectiles and visuals. Thick clots of blood (I feel an urge to make a pun), pools of blood, tides of blood chasing your enemies and taking their lives away - I really hope that his rework will only expand these things and won't make him use some kind of a "red energy General audiences-approved content" thing similar to what Sion uses. http://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Vladimir_0.jpg

To be fair, Mordekaiser's abilities do have metal in them...

Jus not ENOUGH

This possibly needs to be stressed more than anything from a thematic perspective. It needs to feel like blood, not just look like blood.

Everyone, just stop saying Vlad's Q "Is the most cancerous spell in the game".

I understand that it is point-and-click, with zero counterplay - BUT IT'S ONE OF THE ONLY ONES LEFT. Not every ability has to have counterplay - some abilities should be more directed about positioning and timing rather than:

"If I can just my e to get to this spot within 0.4 seconds, maybe I can Q at a 45 degree angle and catch the vel'koz out of position".

I honestly believe that some abilities should just be "Dang I need to harass this guy... Q's Alrighty then." Otherwise League just becomes a game of micro-managing everything in your kit and fast mechanics.

TL;DR - Not every ability needs counterplay. Vlad's Q is strong, and it helps make him a strong champion, adding too much counterplay would just make him unnecessarily complicated.

I always imagined blood magic as some sort of twisted, harmful medicine. Control of blood flow and metabolism is blood magic; some africans consider diseases such as Ebola black/blood magic. In DnD blood mages have minor mind control powers, and it's part of Vlad's lore that he restored a twisted imitation of life to Sion. Basically you can make the coolest of things with this concept, especially considering Vlads relationship with the previous blood mages in history (the way he inherited their memories, powers and most importantly, their research into the Art). In my headcanon/fan fiction he can create flesh golems and profane life by fusing creatures together for his own twisted purposes. Also, Rasputin was a blood mage.

The devs should watch Deadman Wonderland before remaking Vladimir

yes please i love vlad and honestly i dont want him to get a rework at all. But who knows we will see. The only moves i really dont want them to change is his Q and W. i just hope they dont do what you said and turn him into some red energy champ that runs off of energy or something.

"Vlad is no longer the Crimson Reaper, we at Riot decided that with his new theme and rework, his title no longer suits him. Vladimir's new title will be Vlad the Fruit Punch-er" - Phreak

vlads passive is amazingly good. his q his w and his passive are good, but they are not that good compared to most other champs abilities. his e and his ult are very bad for him. his ult is good for teamfights but that would make him rely on his team, he's a blood mage who drained the life out of his own master and yet he has to rely on his team to be any good. his e early does 80 damage and takes 30 hp, hit with reduction he does about 60 damage for 30 hp, this is with added ability power and penetration, this ability also pushes the lane causing him to die more often so using it is not always good. and because of his weak early he is very easy to shut down which makes him completely useless. so in correction, his q is good, but not good early, after reductions and full damage you would get maybe 86 damage and 30 healing every 10 seconds. any ad champ with a slow or stun could crush him.

and just so we're considering all possibilities, vlad will eventually be forced into a combat situation, if he wants cs and xp.

Sorry, China said no and there's no such thing as localized content patching!

I really hope they do not mess up with his identity. Ive been a Vlad main for seasons, and I am scared that they are touching him.

he need a new skin : pentakill, and his new ult need to be RAINING BLOOOOOOOD

Keep in mind that the mage update is a broad update for multiple champs.,so Vlad will most likely not receive completely new ability effects on all of his abilities and most of his abilities will just be adjusted, with maybe one or two new ones,so from that standpoint alone it is really unlikely that he'll loose his blood.

Mordekaiser lost his metal because they felt it didn't fit thematically with his "evil-overlord" and "necromancer" identity of his character, but Vlad is pretty much all about blood. If they take it away then there wouldn't be much left. Taking his blood away would be like turning sona into a screaming kickboxer.

Yeah, like drinking from people's skulls, or ripping their head from their spine, or using your bones to pick his teeth. You know... that blasted politically correct general-audience stuff.

Let's give vlad a Blood collecting mechanic.

Let's say he can collect 5 'vessels' of blood, each vessel allowing him to cast a spell free of health cost and say, halves cooldown since he's not draining from himself.

His passive is boring, it's safe and really boring. But I like the idea of being able to 'pop' your blood vessels for % health, scaling to higher percentages as you level, at a cooldown of course.

His Q heals him, and allows him to collect blood, perhaps half a vessel from minions or some other small amount

His E somehow expends extra vessel collected,

His Blood pool (which I doubt they'll change significantly) increases in size and gains MS per vessel collected, but returns a number of vessels to you equal to the number of enemy champions caught in it.

With his ult he becomes a whirling blood vortex, unable to cast spells or attack, draining blood over time from each enemy within range, before exploding in a bloody show dealing damage at the end IF you collect enough blood. You can use it at full vessels to deal only the maximum damage for burst purposes, or you can chance draining at your enemies health for bonus damage, and having them escape from you. Keep in mind that the channel time will have enough duration to explode as long as at least 1 champion is in range for the full duration of the cast.

I really hope they don't fuck him up literally my favorite champion.
