They did for GP but just won't say they did. That's why its called Captain and not Traditional. They went back on their word even though they said they wouldn't. Now we can all join in tears over Sion.

I wouldn't call "Captain Gangplank" a traditional skin. It's nothing like the old GP.

I don't know why people downvote this. His whole character got changed into Captain Gangplank, then the Burning Tides event happened and Classic Gangplank is the result of that. The same with Sion, they didn't receive a traditional skin because their whole character got changed.

I mean her skills generally have the same uses, but thematically she changed quite a lot with the loss of her fans

I have joined League a little before Sion rework got launched(played him before that), so I can't know how Karma was before rework, what I typed before is what a rioter said when people asked for Traditional skins for MF and GP.

No, they didn't receive one because they no longer make them. They didn't feel they were well enough received and so they stopped using their resources to produce them.

That logic makes no sense. Captain Gangplank wasn't a traditional skin. It was cannon for like, 3 weeks. At the current point in time, it is an alternative skin showing Gangplank from the past lore-wise, not gameplay wise.

It's like TF's cutpurse skin; it shows him from the past lore-wise, not gameplay wise.

A traditional skin would look like Gangplank pre-rework , not 3 weeks of his current iteration.

Not to be a complete jerk to the team that re-did his visuals, but I strongly prefer this to his new look. That's also super menacing, and has the aura of insanity that I think GP portrayed in the burning tides event.

GP displayed an aura of insanity? I never noticed it. Cruel indeed, but with purpose, which is a key difference in an insane person, and a rational person with ambitions.

He never tortured because he enjoyed it, he did it to keep order. Can you tell me why you think he seemed insane to you?

No, it's not insane if you have a purpose. He is doing is specifically because he KNOWS it's a crazy thing to do, it gives him a reputation and that reputation actually keeps the peace and causes less suffering in the long run.

Well the guy that drew this has done stuff for League before. The image's link has his name in it (victor-maury-gangplank-saltwater-scourge-forweb.jpg), and on his 'about' page (at http://www.victormaury.com/about/ ) the first client mentioned is Rito. So I guess technically it's Riot's work?

I actually liked the old GP's personality better, with all his silly lines he was a good comic relief character. Now he's just some wannabe badass pirate. I kinda feel like they ruined his character with his rework.
