A legendary veteran of Zaun's many bloody guild wars, Torrance Strahlung turned his war-weary eyes to the ruling Chem-Baron elite after an experimental hextech explosion killed his entire squad in a tragic case of friendly fire. When the corpulently corrupt magnates attempted to cover up the untimely deaths of their own, Torrance's thirst for revenge bubbled to a boiling point. He and a terrorist group of insurgents called the Sons of Zaun began a shadow war against Zaun's upper echelons of society, raiding hextech factories on each level of the undercity to unleash devastating holocaust on those he blamed for his squad's death. The rogue ex-soldier's psyche rapidly crumbled, and his perception of the world shattered into that of black and white - him on one side and the whole world on the other. Murdering his co-radicals en masse using the same weaponry that took the lives of his squadmates, soon Torrance became the final Son of Zaun, warped and twisted by his intense misanthropy towards everyone and everything else. Evading capture from wolfmen and Piltover officials alike, the Green Death haunts the nightmares of Zaun's ruling elite with explosive glee, determined to destroy the city he once loved, or die in the attempt. In-game, Torrance is a roaming marksman that ruthlessly manipulates the map to his advantage, pumping his targets full of deadly radiation and watching as they die a slow and painful death before him.

#ABILITIES

##OVERVIEW

[P] Depleted Hextech Shells: Torrance's basic attacks deal reduced damage and operate on an ammo system, but apply stacks of Radiation that decay over time, dealing bonus true damage per stack and applying grievous wounds.

[Q] Unstable Compound Grenade: Torrance fires a grenade that deals magic damage and applies Radiation. The grenade leaves behind a field that slows and applies further stacks of Radiation to enemies within.

[W] Eye of Zaun: Torrance fires a flare that briefly reveals the target area. If he retrieves the flare, the cooldown is greatly reduced.

[E] Hextech Exocharge: Torrance places a charge on a nearby piece of terrain, up to several at once. Torrance can reactivate this ability to detonate the charges, dealing damage and knocking nearby enemies back while also destroying that segment of terrain for a duration.

[R] Armageddon: Torrance channels before firing a massive, radioactive bomb to the target area. The bomb deals magic damage, detonates charges, and applies full stacks of Radiation to enemies hit. The explosion radius leaves behind a corrupted zone that slows and applies Radiation stacks to enemies within.

##Ability Notes:

  • Torrance cannot destroy edges of the map, and will only partially destroy certain thick segments of terrain. If it is too large for Talon to flip over, then generally Torrance will not be able to destroy it as well.

  • The field the bomb leaves behind is clearly indicated (like Nasus's Spirit Fire or the indicators for Ziggs and Galio ultimates), and can be seen through the Fog of War.

-6 upvotes? This is f*cked up. Anyways, you can have my upvote. :) Also, the video of Torrance's theme is not avainable.

We haven't had a champion who uses nuclear bombs (sorry ziggs), and this Torrance seems to fill that thematic really well. But if the area left by his ult cripples enemies in it (which is what I guess means grounded) it would be unfair to play against. Grounded effect should be easy to outplay or dodge, not just thrown into a massive zone for 180-120 seconds. It was tested on Taliyah, but it felt really unfair to play against so the earthquake ult was scrapped. Cassiopeia has a grounded effect in her Miasma, but the area lasts for 5 seconds and the area is easy to leave. Torrance can throw the ult to a lane and it would completely nullify all mobility until his ult comes up again.

Away from the ult, his kit feels really fleshed out and his E is really fun looking. Passive though feels like we've seen stuff like it in the game, it's a damage stacking passive that is applied by abilities.

Feel free to clarify what you meant with "crippled" if I was wrong.

So, some thoughts. His lore's an interesting take on what Zaun's way of life might do to a person. He's kind of like the ultimate twisted product of Zaun, beyond even Warwick. Though I think him being able to elude capture from both Warwick and Camille is a bit unlikely.

Kitwise, everything about him revolves around his radiation passive, so unlike other adcs he doesn't burst you down so much as he whithers you away. That's interesting. It might be more thematic though if his passive damage ignored a percent of armor. Buying some chainmail isn't protecting you from radiation, of course, lol. Overall he's more of an attacker/caster hybrid, as he won't really beat any pure attacker in a boxing match, so naturally his abilities are more akin to what you see on mages than on adcs.

His Q is great for him, some poke and works with his passive, and it CAN give him a little breathing room with the slow. His W fits him as a soldier and a radical, but is INCREDIBLY strong, being persistent vision in an area. His E fits him perfectly (mad bomber, lay traps), but the terrain destruction probably needs to go. That sort of thing opens up cans of worms in this game. The tower damage is a nice counterbalance to his aa's doing below-average damage.

His ultimate... really it strikes me as being his Q but bigger. A nuke fits him nicely, but Echoing and I are in agreement that it would be cooler if her had to instead paint a target for it to strike over a duration. His team would have incentive to protect him while he finishes, then he lays down the thunder. The lingering radiation field sounds really cool on paper, but there's a huge number of issues that spring up, the easiest one I could think of being he could blast the enemy nexus with it to basically be Proxy Singed without actually going to the base to proxy.

He's pretty strong, but counterplay is simple: just beat the crap out of him. Almost any other burst mage, adc, skirmisher, or bruiser could take him 1v1 when he's alone thanks to his lack of burst (as a side note, this is another good reason to make him ignore defenses with his radiation, it gives him a better chance at winning longer fights), but if he's got some protection he can cause a lot of wasting damage.

Overall, though, I think this is a very interesting concept and it's something new to the game. Also, he's a unique spin to adcs in general beyond "build crit and crit them to death."

Hey man don't sweat it. Everyone gets a major downvote ratio on at least one of their posts.

Here's some stuff I read that at first confused me, but then I got the hang of it.

  1. His basic attacks: I thought they were like pulsing waves or a constant laser that only attacks once every _ seconds. I was confused on how bullets carried radiation, but then I thought, "Hey, it's ******* Zaun."

  2. His E: I don't think Riot likes to remove terrain, at least not for too long. His detonation removes terrain for 60/75/90/105/120 seconds, which Riot may not like to do if he were to come out.

  3. His R: How long does it take to travel? Is it longer the farther away it is? Or does it just drop from the sky, the same amount of time for any location, even right next to Torrance or across the entire map? If it just drops from let's say a warship, it would make sense that every location on the map takes the same amount of time for the bomb to reach it. If it's like Ziggs' then I think it should be clarified. Unless you like the idea of a warship dropping it.

Other than that I think it's pretty good. I don't get all the downvotes. At least there's only -1 (showing for me) now.

i appreciate the quotes more than anything on a champion. the claymore type ability is unique. i dont see the verisimilitude in the terrain being destroyed but regaining form after a time. but i still like it

Well, I'll admit my fault in not reading the language carefully on that one. My bad.

I will, however, take offense at being called a liar.

I don't like that you're getting mass downvoted either based on the quality of your concepts, but if you think me saying "HEY GUYS STOP DOWNVOTING PLEASE" is going to change anything, you're unfortunately mistaken. The only thing I do is run a contest, and the only people who'd listen to me are those directly participating in that contest. Maybe. Possibly.

The only person who you can control is you. That's why I'm saying to calm down - that's something you can do. That's something that doesn't rely on anyone else - me or the hundredsomething people that frequent this corner of the forums or the people that just view from the boards home. When you call other people's work "garbage," then you boast incessantly about your own work, then throw a hissy fit when your creation isn't praised by everyone, and then start blaming people for it - including the people trying to help you, that doesn't look good. It doesn't look good AT ALL. To be fair, your work certainly appears like it takes a lot of time to formulate, but so do most other champion concepts that you belittle and shame. It's not like you're the only hard worker, but with the way you present yourself, it sure as hell seems that way in the public eye.

You do make good work (that is still far from perfect, but who's isn't?). However, you also expect people to just accept that you're somehow beyond critique. It also doesn't help your case whenever you provide CCOS feedback, it is suspiciously close to the submission deadlines - so nobody has a chance to revise their work. Awfully convenient, huh?

That's a load of horseshit. I've never called anyone's concepts garbage. I've called base stats on certain concepts garbage because they are excessively low. I've called concepts of poor quality, and called them out on unoriginality, but yes, continue to perpetuate something that is untrue simply because you want to ride a circlejerk. Read what I write, not what you think I do.

I get frustrated when I am downvoted excessively with no indication as to why. How come Skylarke's concepts are resoundedly criticized as toxic and unfun but universallly receive huge amounts of upvotes within an hour? How come someone posts two concepts at once and gets ten on both in an hour? This sub-board is fucking broken. I can spend days putting effort into a concept and get shoved out of it in a couple hours while concepts that bring nothing new or fresh, or display half the effort, are sent straight to the top.

I have real life commitments, maybe you don't, I can't be sure. If you're referring to my last second review of Ryka then I'm not sure what you're trying to say - I wrote Keizel's review well within the parameters of the contest, and before that Oracle's, and before even that ones for Charon and Imoen. Try backing a point up with actual evidence. Just because I submit one review last minute does not mean I have a vendetta to sabotage everyone else, which you seem to suggest. I ran a CCOS with one of the largest entry pools ever, which is more than what you've ever done, I can assure you that.

I don't know what I ever did to piss in your cereal but obviously someone has. I've upvoted all your concepts and encouraged you when you felt like quitting, but if you want to be a dick for no reason, then to each his own I guess. When your concepts are consistently downvoted despite the work you put in them, and people assume blatant untruths about you for no reason, then you can talk, but for the time being stick to what you actually understand. Because I get frustrated that there is an unexplainable circlejerk against me does not give you leave to perpetuate it, or use hyperbole to attack me.

I would have said this regardless of the so-called circlejerk. I am not continuing some kind of negative momentum - assuming that I am is only isolating yourself further, and preventing you from fixing people's perceptions of you and your actions. It's not like they're doing this for no reason - even if it isn't about the champion itself.

I can see 3-to-4 troll downvotes, which isn't all that unusual on such a fickle board, but -11 is definitely something more than that. You must have done something specific to anger loads of people, or just been an overall fuckwad over time. The reason people like Skylarke and Echoing don't get downvote mobbed is because they aren't being fuckwads. If people downvoted out of "jealousy," or because they're just not as good, almost everyone in the CCOS would have votes well into the negatives. That just isn't realistic.

Let me also get this straight; you are not Regonas. Period. Now that this is established, note that you two still share a very similar disposition, and have a rather twisted view of how people behave. You tend to eject your blame outward, and claim that people don't understand your genius, or that you are somehow above people - as if your invested time and energy is somehow more valuable. And yes, hosting a CCOS is an undertaking, most definitely. Your contribution is one that was widely appreciated, and you should be proud of what you did. But to say that it is more than I have ever done is neither correct, nor is it doing you any favors. I'm not going to say that you are Regonas, not even close, but Echoing is 1000000000% correct. You do have tendencies to drift towards his familiar extremes. You have a chance to reverse this course of action, but you instead choose to throw a tantrum, and cast your blame on everyone else - even the people trying to explain it to you.

I just want to point out that your current course does not end well - especially with how bad it already is. It might help to take a serious introspective look at the way you poise yourself verbally on the boards. Calling people out for not having IRL commitments, or not being accomplished is simply a low-blow, irrelevant, and frankly, almost always incorrect. I myself have full-time work in the game industry as a storyboard artist, writer, and 3D modeler, but I will never tell you that it is any more or less than you have ever done. I'm not a condescending ass clown, nor do I need to do that to make myself feel better.

In the end, there's a reason people are acting this way, and it is not because EVERYONE ELSE is a dick head. Grow up.

honestly the voting system should show likes and dislikes. and yea ppl could put more constructive criticism into theire voting. but i dont think the way this guy is reacting to people downvoting something im sure he cares a lot about qualifies for more downvoting. there should be some options on what you allow to happen to ur thread. maybe you just want ppl to see it and not give any kind of criticism, disable comments maybe you dont care to see the upvote or down votes at all and only the eloborated opinion, disable votes

You made a huge fuss over Midnight Oil24's champions and generally acted in a belligerent manner to him while justifying your own actions, and then act confused and indignant when people retaliate.

And now you're drawing a false dichotomy - if someone doesn't explicitly say "hey cut that out" they are supporting you getting downvoted.

You keep asking me to condemn this, but I'm going to say no. This is what happens when you go out, put down other people's hard work, don't tell them how to do it better, show no concern for their feelings, and fail to show any sort of interest for what they do at all. You can't go and do all of that and then expect people to treat you how you want to be treated, when you can't even show that courtesy to anyone else.

I like your champions. I like your designs. I like that you covered for me that one CCOS. I do not like your attitude, and you're the only one that can fix that.

If you want this to stop, your best bet is to go out, hit up the Recent threads, and go find concepts you can review. Be thorough, be NICE, and tell them how they can do it better to get closer to whatever theme/gameplay they want. You keep doing that and showing off that yes, you are helpful and yes, you do know what you're talking about, then people are naturally going to like you and this downvote spree is going to stop.

If you think me saying "hey guys cut it out" is going to stop it, people are going to look at what you've posted, shake their head, and rightfully dismiss me as crazy before they downvote anyways. I can't shortcut your development as a person for you, unfortunately.

1.) Time does not guarantee results or praise. As someone who used to pour hours into their own illustrations for CCOS, I can't stress this enough. No matter how much work you put into something, you aren't always going to get the attention or noterietay that you hope to, nor do most people. That's just life.

2.) Your invested time is not more important than others time. Claiming things such as "hosting a CCOS is more than (enter name here) has ever done" isn't earning you any favor points. Your creations typically score well in the design department, but your attitude lands your post well in the negatives for downvotes. The fact that you don't see this, or refuse to, is utterly infuriating.

3.) Deflecting blame by claiming everyone who doesn't worship you is a part of some perpetual circlejerk clusterfuck of negativity that constantly schemes "hyperbole" attacks against you, is some serious tinfoil hat bullshit. These excuses are sounding like a broken record, and frankly, the more you bring it up, the more it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And no, you are not being downvoted out of some kind or warped, malicious sense of jealousy. Just, no.

4.) If you give champion feedback, make sure to provide some way to help it, rather than just telling someone to scrap the idea, or telling someone to come back only after they learn how to balance numbers. You may be doing this more often than you think, and it sure as hell didn't help me stay. Not everything can be solved by throwing the wiki in their face.

5.) If you say something that is downright offensive, OWN It. The fact that you are spewing all sorts of egomania and condescending bullshit is bad enough, but to not recognize where that kind of behavior might not be appropriate (no matter how bad you THINK a concept is), refuse to apologize, or just flat out blame people for how you come across, you need to get it through your thick skull that maybe, just MAYBE, saying sorry now and then might not be the worst thing. Might be a step closer to redemption.

6.) Nobody here is bigger than anyone else. Period. End of story. You tend to throw around the names of people that you feel have been here long enough to be established as "better," or more "dedicated." This is driving a wedge between long-time participants and people who have only entered once or twice, and it ultimately discourages newer creators from continuing. You like to name drop to make people feel small. You even used this tactic against Midnight Oil24, and you used MY NAME to try and belittle his efforts. That doesn't bode well with me, and I'm sure others don't like being used as a weapon. Not cool.

7.) Now before you get butthurt, understand that I say this because I am recognizing a few parallels. You're gonna want to read into Regonas. Go back into the archives, and dig up what you can find. Some of the things I mentioned here are hallmarks of his infamous superiority complex. If you can see first hand where this kind of behavior leads, you might not follow that same path. It's worth browsing through if it means possibly saving your reputation from the same kind of ruin.

1.) Well, I think it should. I'm appalled that we have creators on here that think a paragraph of lore, 4 simple, unoriginal abilities, and a picture of some buxom WoW character constitutes something that is equal in calibre to something that I make or you make or I make or Kraytos makes or DfR makes. Every champion on this board deserves to be posted and every deserves feedback but I'm not going to pretend as if they are all equal in design. That is an insult to those who put craft and dedication into their designs, which I am not ashamed in the slightest to say is not everyone on this board. I won't apologize for thinking that and I don't see why I should.

2.) The fact that you don't think people mass downvoting me for literally no reason than exaggerated, preconceived notions that you are only continuing to perpetuate, condone, and encourage is wrong is utterly infuriating. Take a seat off your high horse and realize how fucking unfair and cruel this is. I could say anything and I'd still be downvoted and ridiculed, and you continuing to attack me and perpetuate ridiculous exaggerations is not helping. I fail to see how being frustrated about a continuous attack against me and telling people they have room to improve is in any way a bad attitude, or how using the downvote system to demean me will help said attitude improve.

3.) Funny that you should bring up a clusterfuck of negativity, mate. That is exactly what everyone else is doing against me. You are the only one here clinging to a pathetic bullshit tinfoil hat and it got old a long time ago. 4.) This is such a blatant and patent example of your exaggeration. I used the wiki once because midnightoil literally got the correct number of scalings for a basic ability wrong. Not only that, he had his abilities scale up by like 10 per level. That is just a demonstrably wrong, rookie mistake that deserves to be fixed. I wrote a review for Keizel, and then your post in response was admitting the same mistakes I pointed out and then philosophizing about how everything you've done has been a failure? In what way did I contribute to that? I literally wrote a post explaining that I liked the majority of your champions. You chose to quit of your own accord, and if you try to blame of that on me then I think it's you who is imagining things.

5.) Say sorry for fucking what? You're fucking asking me to say SORRY? When I am the one being downvoted for LITERALLY anything, ridiculed, called names, and accused of completely made up fallacies, and then MASS DOWNVOTED to ridiculous degrees for having the audacity to complain about it? I wish your high horse's legs would break so that you could see how twisted and stupid this system is. But it doesn't really matter, does it?
