It's not being funny, it's not psychological warfare, it's not your right because you won.

You're a bad sport who is trying to make the other team feel bad, and you are everything that is wrong with the MOBA community. Saying 'Good game' (GG) after every match isn't mandatory, but it's a nice gesture that show you had fun playing against your opponents. Saying GG EZ is just being a big jerk and shows how fragile your ego is.

I get so frustrated and ashamed when I see anyone, even on my team, be a dick and type it in allchat at the end or near the end of the game. It's rude and condescending and should be weeded out at every opportunity.

EDIT: There are people coming on here saying "Oh get over yourself OP you just have thin skin, just quit playing online games if you can't take trash talk'. I've had people cuss me out and call me racial slurs, people insult me in every way imaginable at this game. But that's just them being toxic, do I have thin skin for hearing that every time I play a game? Saying gg ez or behaving in that manner is just being downright childish and unsportsmanlike and should be punished.

riot has said somewhere before that GGEZ is reportable but it would be better if they just went the overwatch route and made all GGEZ comments auto translate to insults like "i wet the bed" and "my mommy doesnt know im online." cause frankly thats all i hear when someone says it, doubly so if they say it after a loss.

Riot explained they won't do that because even if they did the player would know the opponent said something mean to him and still feel bad.

One thing I noticed about this, when someone writes "gg ez" after a game, its almost never any of the players who actually carried the game.

Most times its the 1/9/4 guy who got carried hard by the team.

Eh, I'll say it, but only if:

-we got absolutely stomped, and I do it as a joke -or if it was a really close game, and I say "ggez" as a joke, but I'll add in a "jk" after just to be sure

It's trash talking. Walk it off. He didn't even flame. I even trash talk sometimes when I start winning the lane to tilt opponents like you so I can have better chances of winning.

Tilt is a part of the game, like it or not, trash talking helps if it tilts the enemy. It can go out of line if it gets graphic, but otherwise learn how to deal with it or mute them. I agree with omen.

It's not "trash talking" or to "tilt your opponent" when it's typically said at the end of the match when the game is already over. It's bad sportsmanship.

I've seen it said prematurely as a "We are stomping you", but when its at the end its most likely just a joke. Grow some skin, like any, at all.

And there is nothing stopping you from getting matched against the same people again next game.

Yes trash talking is bad sportsmanship, but in that case picking anything meta against things out of the meta is bad sportsmanship. You disrespected the fact that they cast it aside, so you are just going to stomp them easily unless you play like garbage.

People get reported for both feeding and intentionally feeding, because most people don't care. You ruined their game and they are going to report you.

People say ggez at the end of the game both as a joke and being a dickhead, but most people don't care. They tilted you so you are going to report them.

When one nexus is blowing up, there's no use in tilting anybody further. If you're saying ggez this point, even if one subscribes to the philosophy that tilting your enemies is a valid strategy, you're just being a jackass.

I used that philosophy as an example. Trash talking in general is a thing. As long as it doesn't go over the line like when someone is swearing or being toxic, op is overreacting. Examples of acceptable trash talk: "that was easy", "get rekt", "didn't break a sweat" "are you even trying bruh" etc. Examples of unacceptable trash talk: "kill yourself", "yasuo players should hang themselves", "get cancer" etc.

But what use is there in trash talking after a game? The only purpose I can see is making other people think you're an asshole. This is the scenario op is talking about and I agree with op's views on the matter.

A lot of people here are responding with the "it's just a game" mentality, but the OP has a point. When you play a pickup game of soccer or basketball, you don't act like an ass after and make some snide, rude comment. Nor do you overtly throw the blame at others on your team and flame them when you make a mistake in the game, for that matter.

Look, I'm not saying that playing a game of pickup IRL and playing an online video game are exactly alike. However, they are both essentially competitive, team-based games you are playing with REAL PEOPLE for one objective: fun. Because just like in basketball and soccer, about 99.9% of us are not playing this to become pros, nor are most of us considering it.

Whether you are physically standing in front of another player or not should not affect the level of common decency you portray for a fellow human being.

I report anyone that says it, be them on my team or the enemy. Riot has mentioned they are against it, so if the person has done it several times (which I usually suspect they have) then they'll fact the consequences.

Hf reporting future actual flamers now that your report points have gone downhill from reporting for gg ez. Hear it from the pros. Only report serious rule breakers so you can have good report trust to the system and have them count.

Reports no longer have weight, everyone is the same. There are no longer "points".

I see tons of pop-ups telling me that people have been punished for what I have reported them for.

Yes. You said you report people for saying ggez. Then you said that you keep getting reported for the same reasons you report others. Well I'd have to guess that reporting people for saying 'GGEZ' you make a report in about every 5-6/10 games. Reporting a lot especially for petty things like this would leave riot to prioritize your reports less than others. Now the punishments you recieve from others would probably be from people who report less than you. Meaning they report when they actually have a case. You might also be toxic as well but this part is just speculation.

The people who say gg ez know they are being an ass. That's the whole point of adding those extra two letters. And I'm sure a lot of us know that these people are asses with no gaming etiquette, but there's no real way of stopping it from happening. I actually don't see it typed that often though.
