Than is a conjunction used in comparisons. Example: "Tom is smarter than Bill"

Then has numerous meanings: 1- At that point in time. Example: "I wasn’t ready then" 2- Next, afterward. Example: "Do your homework and then go to bed" 3- In addition, also, on top of that. Example: "He told me he was leaving, and then that I owed him money" 4- In that case, therefore. Example: "If you want to go, then you’ll have to finish your homework"

Let's take a look at our particular case: "What about Gragus than, he drinks beer all the time???" We are in the 4th case of possible uses for the word "then", therefore that's the word he should have used.

That said, while correcting is good, i think you shouldn't use a tone that wants to belittle the one who did a mistake, especially if he is writing in a language he is not familiar with. I am pretty bad with english myself, and i will appreciate it if you tell me my mistakes, but you don't need to look down on me. I wouldn't do it if you were to try writing something in italian and do several mistakes. So, Ironhold, while i understand you (i too dislike to see horrible grammar on my native language) you should be comprensive (keep correcting us, though, that's a good thing)

i like when people express themselves in a grammatically and syntactically correct way. Is that wrong of me? Of course, everyone can do mistakes, that doesn't mean you are stupid, especially if you are writing in a language different from his native one. I myself do a lot of mistakes when i express myself in english, and sometimes even when i speak italian (i'm italian, btw). If i do, i take note of that for the future. Since Arcade Andrew did a mistake, i made him notice. Did i look down on him because of that? not at all. Maybe later today he will correct some mistake of mine, and i'll thank him for that.

I haven't taken the mantle of educating/correcting people's vocabulary uppon this planet. But correcting than/then they're/their is like, one of the easiest if not the most basic things you can do, since it's expected from you, a non-native speaker, to not do such mistakes, whereas the native speakers keep hurting your eyes with their bad grammar.

Not only that, but their blatant refusal to comprehend their problem, as well as their innability to accept it, infuriates me greatly. Even the guy who corrected me, a native speaker, was wrong at his own language's grammar. Even if the use of "than" was correct, it still wouldn't stand in the structure of OP's sentence, hence STILL being wrong.

Lastly, I tried an accepting, friendly tone, the first 100 times. After that, you no longer walk on the valey of understanding, but you're swimming up the river of moronic stupidity. And that tends to make people bitter, especialy a cynical prick like myself. So that might explain to you why I no longer care about other people's feelings when correcting them.

PS. Have my updoot for bothering to put into words what I would never do, because I consider knowing this kind of stuff for granted.

Well, Gragas drinks, Ahri preys on sexual desire, Nidalee pole dances on her spear AND has a dialogue that says it's mating season (unless this was removed), and everyone fights and kills each other in a game where it is all about fighting and winning against the other team.

Yet, the Cigar was the final straw.

I'm trying not to sound like an ass, but it's coming out really sarcastic and assy (heh, assy). I just find it silly that a game with fighting, scantily clad women (and yes, some scantily clad men), drinking (Gragas), sexual innuendo's with Nidalee, Ahri who uses her body (lore and her charm ability) to fight, as well as the countless other adult like aspects to this game (Aatrox's dark obsession with war, Vladimir's obsession with blood power, Reanimating the dead Aka Sion, countless wars and killing, trapping souls, vendetta's against dark creatures, etc.) draws the line at smoking.

All of that is fine, but Graves having a cigar is a no no. Why? Truly. Why? Is it because you think kids playing this will think "Awesome! Graves smokes, I should too!" because if that's the case then you should also be worried about them thinking "Ahri uses their body for gain? I should too!" and "Gragas drinks? Awesome, I will too!" or even "Woah, Talon is so cool and same with Katarina. They love killing. I wonder if I kill will I be that cool?"

See my point? It's silly. Just silly to detract something that was visually unique to a character based off of whatever when there are other champions with similar things.

I don't want you to get rid of anything so don't take it that way. I just want champions to stay true to themselves because taking away from them is silly. I love all the champions and their uniqueness. Even though it wasn't a big change gameplay wise it was a big change character wise.

Bring the cigar back Rito. Pls. It won't harm anyone. I don't even play Graves that much, but still. This coming from someone who doesn't play him often.

In full honesty...

I don't even think it was Riot's decision, it was most likely due to Tencent (the company that bought out a large majority of Riot and forces terrible marketing decisions into the game, like a bajillion ward skins, chroma packs, drastic meta change with cinderhulk right before playoffs, summoner icon bundles, warden/marauder skins [only joking on that one] etc.) since they make a lot of very odd decisions (like previously mentioned), they most likely did something this stupid.
The 'graves can't have a cigar' meme is a huge meme in League. You put the cigar back in, and it kinda gets rid of such a huge meme. It's kinda like going back and mentioning what was in the Case the whole time in Pulp Fiction, kinda ruins the controversy, doesn't it?

However, you still make an excellent point 'bout it.

That video is so DLed...that explains the recent extreme increase in Rito greed™ over the last couple of seasons, with RP-only icons (hello, 1500 IP icons went where?), dreadful chromas (custom skins, anyone?), and no-sense changes mid-season like the Twisted Threesome tower addons and the juggernauts.

So Tencent is who's responsible for turning Riot games into EA: quick cash and a game which will send itself to Teemoworld in a handbasket in a few years.

League is pretty clearly rated T for the drug references and suggestive themes. I'm 100% okay with all of that. My issue with removing Graves's cigar is that League isn't meant to be played by little kids. If I wanted a "safe" game to play I'd be playing Animal Crossing or some other Nintendo title, not a fairly violent fantasy brawler.

This brings back mine and other peoples points.

Gragas Drinking AND he has a cigarette from what others have said (though I personally haven't seen this) is alright, but Graves cigar isn't. Riot Silver doesn't explain why this is ok, but Graves isn't.

Ahri Sexualizes herself and uses her body to fight, but Riot Silver doesn't explain why this is ok for all audiences but Graves cigar isn't.

Nidalee Pole dances and makes passes about it being mating season, and yet this is ok for all audiences but Graves having a Cigar isn't.

Apparently Janna has a quote that is a big sexual innuendo, but this is alright for all audiences but Graves having a Cigar isn't.

The gentlemen skins depict drinking AND smoking which is obviously alright for all audiences, but Graves having a cigar isn't.

Singed Using chemicals to kill thousands and experiment on people is ok for all audiences, but Graves having a cigar isn't.

Yorick Digging up and using corpses to fight is alright for all audiences, but Graves having a cigar isn't.

Annie is a child fighting and killing countless people and even dying herself is ok for all audiences. Yet Graves having a cigar isn't.

You see mine and everyone elses points here? You're contradicting yourselves.

Riot Silver says that you want to be able to be for all audiences so you removed the cigar. So, why the hell not remove Gragas's drinking and smoking, Ahri's sexualized nature, Nidalee's and Janna's sexual innuendo's (starts playing foxtrot uniform charlie kilo by bloodhound gang), Singed's wicked experiments and cruel chemical weapons use, remove all the dark stories to this game and put some fluffy bunnies and make it where you're not fighting and killing people but instead working together for a better and peaceful world. Cause if you want to be for all audiences like Riot Silver said then this is what you should do.

League states in your videos that "May contain uses of alcohol, tobacco, etc" including some sexual themes. So why change Graves? Why not change everyone? I don't want you to change everyone. I want you to stay true to the characters and not contradict yourselves.

So smoking is looked down upon in some countries. So what? You see the outcry from your loyal fanbase and yet you guys pretty much shrug and are like "Oh well. Fuck you guys and fuck logic."

I truly am trying not to be an ass, but you have to see just how silly and contradicting you guys are being. It's saying that sexualizing women (And men), drinking, and killing are all ok, but smoking isn't because you want certain places to play your game. That's just great. Why not make it where in that region where it isn't ok that he has that removed. Why remove it for everyone? It's just so silly and stupid.

I love you guys. League is awesome, but I mean come on. These excuses are bullshit. If you take away one thing, take away that thing for everyone. I don't want you to. I want Graves cigar back because this entire thing is silly.

This game is hardly for children, but if you want a game for children then make one specifically filtered for them. Don't ruin the game for the rest of us. This is such a tiny problem, but has caused such a huge outcry.

Sorry I got a bit snippy there, but I mean come on Rito. I'm not asking you to murder someone, and I don't think anyone else is either. :\

The real reason he can't have a cigar is because censorship laws in China. They don't allow games that have tobacco references and since China is a major part of the LoL playerbase, it's better to drop the cigar.

The initial complaint was about Riot's blatant and hypocritical double standards regarding depictions of drugs in media, not about whether someone is actually chugging a molotov.

Drop the cynical superiority complex. Regardless of the composition of the chemicals that make up the molotov, it's common to use a glass alcohol container (beer bottles, etc) as a delivery system.

Slayer Jinx's Zap clearly uses an alcohol bottle as the delivery system of the molotov. It's not like Riot designed a custom projectile or explosive that avoided the alcohol reference; they embraced the stereotype of using a beer bottle as the projectile, which is hypocritical to Riot's censoring of Graves's cigar as a removal of a drug reference (and the subsequent absence of censorship regarding the alcohol usage of Gragas and Yasuo, or the non-removal of the cigar on Esquire Gragas).

Don't distract from the issue with whether you can drink a molotov. The issue is Riot is being hypocritical and arbitrary with their drug censorship.
